I love Jil Sander! I wish more people were aware of her…at least the younger generation. Lovely clothing!! ❤

TIP: for city boy stuff consider NAKED & FAMOUS, they have a store in NYC and TATE & YOKO in Montreal ships INTNL. They consider all menswear unisex and have a separate women’s line. Obviously specializing in Japanese denim but all of their fabrics are made in Japan, from super slubby heavy weight denim to jaquard and cotton twill and waxed duck. Reasonably priced for the excellent quality with consistent sales and seasonal changes in collection. Also WONDERLOOPER is a cool designer brand as well as POPOV LEATHER for brown leather totes/all purpose bags.

All about fit - and how flattering on you. I especially thought the Helmut Lang and the denim set looked great. The Courreges was such a nice counterpoint, but looked blue on screen. Thanks for recommending Jil Sander, I set my alerts for her now, but can't really wear a dropped shoulder (wide shoulders here, too - would love to hear more about how you balance proportion). Oh, and can't wait for Part II, your winter designer pieces. Thanks!

I didn’t know Jil Sander’s work before, but their pieces look amazing on you! I’ll definitely keep an eye out for them on the secondhand market. When you started the video saying, “I’m getting older, and now I’m looking for quality clothes,” it really resonated with me-it’s something that a lot of people (myself included) are experiencing. I’ve been thinking a lot about making my wardrobe more intentional. I already know what types of garments I prefer, so it makes sense to invest in some pieces with better quality, something that will last. As for the brands I keep an eye on, I’d say Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Kenzo, Yohji, Comme des Garçons, and Wales Bonner.

I think the Jill Sander pants are sitting right on you! 🧡 I found for myself a vest by Ann Demeulemeester and wish to find in the future something by Peter Do. My style is classics with a twist ❤ and I love your content.

Jil Sander looks great on you! I personally have appreciation for Pleats Please; however, for my own style, I don't know if I have enough "aura" to pull it off. I love the way you tie the drawstring of your Wave of Sand piece! It's nice when you can style a piece different ways.
As for brands, I'm currently saving up my discretionary bucket for a few pieces from the Rosen store. I also follow Engineered Garments, TS(S), and document - maybe they aren't big "designer" brands, but I view them as aspirational.

I feel like they count as high end or luxury maybe 🤔 at least because of the price tag

I love the brand A.S 98, maybe not designer but a lil pricey and amazing quality! Their shoes has a hold on me but you have to dig a little to find the gems

There are TONS of thrift stores in Tokyo. You might be able to narrow it down a bit by the style you’re looking for.

      Just came back from Tokyo.
For designer stuffs, hit up every 2nd street , ragtag, kindal, trefac, brandoff, brandcollect
Otherwise, just head to koenji/shimokitazawa and stroll around, tons of true vintage in various styles.

i'm always looking out for used our legacy; pieces fit unisex and (for me) the unique materials make them worth collecting... they do great stuff with lightweight wool, and the knits are really interesting.
i would absolutely love a badass eckhaus latta coat, i think their outerwear silhouettes are fascinating, but their stuff is always so expensive even secondhand! one day...
