A reproduction of Buggleskelly station would be a huge attraction for any preserved railway. Any takers?

My analytics show most viewers of Model Railway videos are male. When Frank Hornby invented Meccano, and subsequently Hornby Dublo, he had in mind an educational toy for boys. The Rev'd W. Awdry also says that the maleness of the railways was a reality of a boys world. He said he had no objection to female engines, and under the Bachmann marque, these have been introduced. I think for your next project you might make a layout featuring these female engines. Have fun.

I have been told off by Hornby. They say flammable materials should not be used under the track. I would carry out a flammability test with any underlay you plan to use. Apart from that, thanks for an interesting and well-made video ;-}

My Dad often said that instructions should always be written by someone who has not been involved with the item being described and then checked by a person who has.

Sometimes it helps to have a different perspective, this time by being intrigued but not involved directly for many years, in order not to get stuck in a certain way of thinking and so be able to bring in new ideas.

Great tutorial Dawn, professionally presented , informative and well explained. But behind the scenes the amount of work preparing for this latest episode must be extremely time consuming, so very well done.

Great stuff as usual Dawn. I am in the process of building a small round layout I have called Lord Willoughby's Steam Extravaganza. It is based on a real railway built by one of my ancestors and ran from 1855 to 1873. It was known as The Edenham Branch and ran for some four miles in the Lincolnshire countryside. All that remains are the station which is now a pub and a bridge. Its great fun and I have a Rapido Lion to run on it! It will go with the other five layouts sitting/running in my large garage! If you are ever near Market Deeping you'd be welcome to pop in for tea and chat and Grumpy is welcome too!

The Ladykillers film is wonderfully eccentric and you are well on your way to capturing its essential charm in model form.

One thing nice that a 3D printed model has over an injection molded model is that there aren't mold release oils to clean off. Those oils must be cleaned off so the paint and cement will " grab onto" the plastic.

Very strange. I too had memories that this film was in black and white. Was surprised decades later that it was in colour when I happened to watch it on TV fairly recently. Then the penny dropped. The first time I had seen it was in the mid sixties on a black and white TV. That memory had stuck

foam underlay is a good choice but you don't have to cut it like that. I have used foam just the way i would use corkstrips. They are cut in two halves so do that with the foam too. Cut long strips of the foam , put the two halves together, after gluing them, bend them and pin them down where the track will go. When the glue has dried you can pull out the pins. Works like a charm. Why paint them ? that grey color is ok , they are going to be covered with ballast anyway. But it sure looks tidy doesn't it ? ! great video.

True craftsmanship.....

But the sad part is that you didn't contact all the tracks together you have to many gaps and the train will derail. Because all the tracks are not connected together. You need swicter tracks and other tracks that have straight and curved tracks to hook together. What you have to do is carefully find way to ungule the tracks and carefully remove the tracks without breaking them like I did I wanted to do an due over but sadly I broke the tracks while do it. Well good luck trying to put all the tracks together and taking apart so the trains can run on all the tracks.. okay good luck and improving your train sets and can't wait to see your videos on your working train set. Also why why why is so grumpy he needs to cheer up and be so happy 😊😁 filming and shooting the train displays. Plus enjoying himself okay. Have a good day and happy railroading. Dawn, your tally was not complete. You forgot to add in the cost of tea. It's fun watching your videos, but this one was especially beneficial as I never thought of using floor underlayer.

Did hear about this guy got on the train and later on the trip he asked women server he asked who is the engineer and she said women and she is very good train engineer and she has gone threw school and training to be a train engineer. When he heard women is the train engineer he was verious I don't what women I want a man now to drive the train now. Later things gotten so bad that when ever the train was somewhere in no where stop the train and he gotten kicked off the train and also banned 🚫 for riding trains too all because he was mean and cursive women for being train engineer. He should be happy that women wanted to be train engineer and also captain of the air planes too. Because of this woman don't think that they can actually yes they can be train lover and captain of the air planes too. Go women do whatever you wanted to do

Well thank you for showing us what you are doing with your base board for train set. But why use black paint why not green paint for green grass and blue for the water too? That would be nice and beautiful if you used green and blue paint and not black paint okay?
