Love the model of the Santa Fe Railroad passenger train. I saw them life-sized in person over 50 years ago stopping in Bakersfield, Ca. Janet, my wife and her family rode one from Merced, CA to Richmond, CA near San Francisco over 50 years ago . That model brought back so many memories for both of us. Bill and Janet from California
Ilford |& West Essex Model Railway Show had some awesome model railways layouts on display and look like the planning of the new layout didn't go to plan as others have got their paws into it. Great update
Another interesting video. Much appreciated. “The Lady Killers”, better stay clear if Mr. Grumpy! I remember the film very well. Going to follow your progress with great interest. As I recall, there are multiple tracks passing beneath the house as well as one that runs across the back of the property. I’m also looking forward to see just how you intend to reconfigure the old Airfix Inn into “Mrs. Lopsided’s” house! I’m sure you’re up to the challenge and wish you well with the build. dB.
Hi Dawn, For 1500GBP I can take two dairy factories with me. ;) that offers possibilities. So an invitation of the organiser of the event, a list of goods with their value should do the trick at the customs. I always add a few pictures of the layout with it as I take the layout with me to Switzerland. Thanks for the research.
An interesting remark concerning The Ladykillers: I am one of the people that when I think about the film, visualise it in B&W. So much so that if I was asked the question in a quiz, then that - until now - would have been my answer. Every day's a school day! As for your quiz, I'm guessing the photo is from a location somewhere along the Romney, Hythe and Dunchurch Railway. It's definitely not any of the Welsh narrow guage railways as the signs are not bilingual. But if I'm right, then I too have no idea as to how GC's clue helps...
Hi Dawn, another great video, always amusing! Good layouts at Ilford( love the music)Its Hastings Min Rly,on which I have had many trips from early chilhood!I have to ask what are the er…numbers on your T shirt? Is it where you live or something? Look forward to Stamford report! Take care.
Hi Dawn & Mr G great update this week. Excellent filming of the layouts on show. Your next layout description is tantalising in that you want to replicate the colouring of the Lady Killers film. You certainly set yourself a challenge. As to the quiz question "Hey hey hey" it's Jellystone Junction!!
Cheers another entertaining video...now i have a question for you! I often see at model shows that a layout has been presented by say the ABC Society or the ABC Club. Now what is the difference between a Society and Club. Dumb i know! Cheers BJ
It was nice to meet you at the Ilford MRC Show. Looking forward to seeing your new layout take shape,
Was hoping to see you at the Bristol show. Maybe next year! 👍👍⚡️
That would be great!

It was a lovely show!
Thank you for visiting our exhibition, it was lovely to meet you and I am glad you enjoyed it, and your purchases
Thank you! I really enjoyed it - even Grumpy moved his lips in something resembling a smile - and that's something!
Again good to see a video of you, as for customs their is a lot more in it and has moved customs back by 30 years.
Yes, a bit convoluted but just sharing my own experience.
My railway 60 years ago is like a simple bicycle compared to a modern car today. Great videos, thanks.
We're looking forward to following your progress with your new model railway, great video as ever with some nice model railways at the exhibition 🙂👍
Thank you!
Keep the vids coming such awesome railways hope mine will be as good ,looking forward to seeing your new project.all the best
Thank you!

Looking forward to your new layout Dawn.
Thanks Martyn!
Looks like Hastings to me.
Its in Hasting, just down the road from me.
We always called the Shorts 360 "the flying shed".
Nice vids Dawn, curious about your new layout. Does Thomas have a friend loco " Grumpy" ?
Would that sell do you think?

Me too Stephen - I could have sworn it was in black and white!
You did well with customs. I have lost count of the number of ferries i have missed as the paperwork is not right.
I love my Shorts 360
Go away Grumpy!!
Could we shunt diesels together ?
Hastings Miniature Railway?
Yes i think this is at Hastings
I've only seen it once but I distinctly remember it crossing the concrete roads so Hastings for me too!
Answer coming soon!

Thanks David. The T-shirt numbers are coordinates for Los Angeles.
