Four-Season Railway Photography Challenge
For my 2023 railway photography project I aimed to seamlessly blend all four seasons into a single, captivating railway photograph. Success in this endeavour hinged on finding the railway location that I could revisit in each season while maintaining an identical composition.
Consistency was key to achieving success, with all photographs captured at 24mm from a fixed location that I could easily pinpoint. The strategic use of a specific point allowed me to align the camera precisely for every shot, ensuring a harmonious blend of the seasons in the final image.
This project was a long-awaited idea that finally took flight on a rare snow day. Join me on this artistic journey as I share the ch...

    • @AndrewShenton
      @AndrewShenton 3 месяца назад

      Many thanks, I guess its down to personal preference, TV mode is great to ensure you have a fast enough shutter speed to 'stop' the train and the camera takes care of everything else. I prefer manual mode as I like to chose the other settings depending upon the scene/location and situation.

    Resignalling was postponed for a short while. Next month (Feb 2024) is your last chance to view spectacular semaphore action at Lostwithiel, Par and Truro. After that semaphores in Cornwall will survive only at Liskeard and S'nerth on the main line, and at St. Blazey and Goonbarrow on the Newquay branch. By the way, also last year the ever-meddling DfT ordered some TOCs to cut fleet running costs, so as of December 2023 GWR has fewer Castle class 255 pocket rocket sets in service. The 255s are now diagrammed only on Plymouth-Penzance services plus one daily return trip up to Exeter St Davids.
