Yes, an excellent video and provides loads of inspiration away from the '3/4 front' shots! Love the dandelion shot, one to try when the weather is more springlike (and the dandelions are in flower!!).
Hi Andrew, I must have gone through half of your videos in the last couple of months since I found your channel. It suddenly dawned on me just how much I have learned from you about backgrounds, lighting and the composition of photos. I find that the majority of my photos are, in your words, "recording a shot of something rather than creating a stand alone photo." I think I will need to revisit many places in order to recreate pictures again instead of taking a gazillion photos in the hope that I might have a coupe of decent ones. All it takes now is for me to try to slow down and not try to wear myself out - it could be a whole new experience. So thanks for inspiring me. Cheers, Ian
Some brilliants shots, Like the Class 70 with the dandelions that was a fantastic shot! But also like the Class 180 with the 'Castle' in the foreground as well. Great Video.
Cheers Simon, a great spot for freight, I did my best with the photography that day, but the conditions were just too sunny, I’m not really a blue sky and sunshine photographer.
An excellent video('s) Andrew! I've watched all but the York one several times over now. This was the video that brought your channel to my attention though and made more enticing by being my local location's as well as the excellent photography as being an ex Phoenix group member it's rekindled my occasional days out to look at different views of locations again. I have to say I've loved most of the intro/background music you've found and used within your video's as well. Keep up the good work! I look forward to more video's being made! Best wishes Phil
Many thanks, Phil, very kind comments which I really appreciate. You can probably gather railway photography is a bit of a passion, and more in the style of Phoenix, I do aspire to take a railway image that can stand alone as an interesting photograph and not just a record shot of a railway working. I must say though, trying to do the video as well as the photography and trying to keep both interesting has certainly added a lot of fun to my outings and it does keep me on my toes.
Excellent stuff Andrew; my old stomping ground. Spent hours and hours alongside the Stenson - Sheet Stores line, way back when. Though in my day it was 20s/56s and 58s on MGRs, and pairs of 31s on the oil tanks. Can't believe how busy it appears nowadays.
Glad you enjoyed it Peter, not the variety of traction now, but its still incredibly busy, which makes it difficult to move locations as theres another one along in 10 minutes, the day I was there there was a few hours of train after train, quite incredible really.
Excellent video Andrew, you can get some great shots at Gateway West Jct when the power station is working I photograph around there as it is close to me
Many thanks, I was hoping for more steam from the cooling towers, it looked like the Power Station was on a very light load, I’ll have to get back hopefully when its colder to get the power station working. It is a great view from that spot though.
I thought I had missed this one being a day out in spring! Great inspiration! Another great production Andrew and setting us up for spring 22, just around the corner!
Fantastic Andrew! Some superb compositions 🙏 I tried to get to the viewpoint on top of the tunnels overlooking Ratcliffe Power Station, but I kind of got lost in a boatyard, I must go back and try again. Great work all round Andrew 🙏😊
Hi Andy. Great video ! I am wanting to visit Gateway West Junction myself in a few days time. Can you please tell me the postcode I should use to park up my car, so I can access the footpath you did that is close to the railway line.
Hello Mark, look for Ryecroft Rd, Hemington, Derby DE74 2RE, the road goes over the railway and you can get down to the path from there, good luck and enjoy.
I really enjoyed that Andrew, great back drop with the towers..
Glad you enjoyed it, they do make a great feature, it would have been good to get them working with steam though

Great to see you on my manor Andrew, all very familiar. Pop in for a cup of tea next time, superb stuff with not too many units! Thanks
Next time Mark!, I was blown away by the amount of freight traffic running.

You have some serious talent! Love looking at your photos and watching these videos. Keep it up!
Thanks so much, I’m thrilled you enjoy the videos.
Yet another enjoyable film of your exploits, hope you didn't snag your jumper on that barb wire @ 3.42.
Thanks Peter, All's Ok, or I haven’t noticed any holes in the jumper.

Glad you enjoyed it Steve, yes, this one had been sat on the hard drive since last April.

Many thanks Andrew, I understand getting above the tunnels is hit and miss, there's a path but not sure if its a public footpath.

@@AndrewShenton Many thanks for that Andy - much appreciated
how do you know what times the trains are coming is there a app or something ?
Thanks mick I've just answered on my Durham Coast Video.
How long to walk from east mids Parkway to the top of Redhill tunnels
Hello, Mark, it wouldn't be too long, maybe 20 minutes, head towards the boatyard from the station.
