The focus-stacked photo over the pond was made up of 8 images, merged in Photoshop. The latest Photoshop does a great job automatically and there's very little skill required, other than getting the images right in the first place - I might do a sperate video on this at some point.
Excellent video and really interesting to see the creative process, I’m glad I’m not the only one who sometimes can’t decide between views! Such professional filming and production.
Thanks, Simon, I'm like that with most images If there's a choice I can never decide, glad you liked the filming I tried out a few extra bits in there.
Thanks, Andrew, the challenge is always finding something interesting in your locality and it'll be a relief when we can move further afield, I'd a long list of subjects to tackle during winter, but I guess we are all in the same boat, so yes, there will be more railway photography videos.
Sometimes on the last second myself and dont know what to do with the shot; so your not the only one on that. Again another quality video and some super results to.
Thanks Pete, it is good to see a steam loco out, they have been such a rarity of late. Steam is not normally my photographic first choice but I do enjoy watching them out on the mainline. Thanks once again for watching and the comments.
Thank you, Eddie, those kind words are really appreciated, doing the video and photography simultaneously certainly keeps you on your toes, which I'm sure you will understand.
Decent compositions Andrew, I also live close to a busy line , so difficult to find and come up with different images, so well done. Focus stack worked very well. I do like the steamers and missing them in this lockdown. Keep them coming.
Thanks Robert, it does seem a challenge photographing your local line, especially trying to find something interesting. I was pleased how that focus stack worked out, it's one of those that you don’t know whether it’ll work until you get back home and start processing.
Another enjoyable video again, seen a few phots from Rothwell park earlier/late last year when EMR diverted their Sunday HSTs via Woodlesford,I do like that phot at Woodlesford myself looking towards Leeds and always wondered if a shot was on from said bridge which clearly it is looking at 70 clip.
Thanks Rob, it’s similar to everywhere now, very difficult to find an open view that’s not completely covered in trees, Woodlesford is a great little station, still with a decent amount of traffic through and some interesting photography options. Thanks for commenting and glad you’ve enjoyed the video.
@@AndrewShenton same here at Kirkstall, although they’ve just cut the trees down and opened up the shot more at side of the river, one which I’ve not tried yet,but we do get some decent freight and charters when they return along the Aire valley,I’m lucky I’ve got 3 lines within 10 mins from the house but sadly 2 don’t see any locos much although the Bradford Interchange line did get a visit from 37422 today and sane again tomorrow.
There are a couple railtour websites to keep an eye on, or keep an eye on this site, understandably there’s not a lot happening at the moment www.railadvent.co.uk/steam-locomotives-on-the-mainline

Great video as always! Really like the final shot of the 67!!
Many thanks, a glimpse through the fence panel, if I recall.
@@AndrewShenton Yes it is really nice!

Brilliant (as always Andrew), you nail some amazing pictures, including the landscape, keep going, look forward to more, fantastic 📷🙏🚂

Fantastic photos specially the pond one, I love the way you show the video clip followed by the still shot.
Thank you, I’m pleased you like that, I’m really a railway photographer and want to show some of the behind the scenes of a photography trip out.
This video is excellent work Andrew, very entertaining to watch and with loads of good ideas. The "70" sounded good too! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it, Thomas, yes, its good the 70s are back in action, they do add to the variety.
For me im more a steam enthusiast rather than diesel or electrics. Other than that this is a good video too, you've earned my subscription.
Thank you, David, thanks for the subscription, that's appreciated, I've subbed to you and will go through your videos too.
As always a really good and interesting video. Some lovely shots
Thanks very much, it's surprising how much variety there is on my local line, not great for photography though, glad you enjoyed the video.
Fabulous videos and stills Andrew, loved the steam train, and video on the freight train. I saw your picture on flickr. by the fence.
Excellent, thanks for watching and i’m pleased you enjoyed the videos.
Sometimes on the last second myself and dont know what to do with the shot; so your not the only one on that. Again another quality video and some super results to.
Thanks Keith, yes, I do that more often, spend ages finding a composition then change my mind (mostly regretting it) as the train arrives.
Brilliant video as always Andrew. Great result shots, and fabulous to see a steam train out on the mainline again

Brilliant again Andrew and excellent images as usual. I particularly like the last image taken through the fence slats 👍
Thank you Andrew, I guess the light engine was a good subject for a shot like this, thanks for watching and the comment.
Another belter my friend, love the shed through the fence, your combination of both disciplines is clearly well thought out. Loving it.

Interesting Rob, there actually was a team out cutting down some of the larger trees when I was walking to Woodlesford.
@@AndrewShenton better for phots when the warmer & lighter nights come.
How do you edit your photos to make them brighter ?
Thanks for the comment, I use Adobe Lightroom for my edits, there is a free iPad version available to try.
Where do you find out about steam locos travelling along mainlines?
