so, i might be a little late to comment :) but i would like to adress 2 points. First: the fuel might be and Australia only problem, in EU for example the is no fuel lower than 95 octane for the last 20 years. 2nd: you can change the Transmission setting in the engeneering mode to AMT, this will improove the gear change drastically. great vid btw

Sun roofs are great when getting into a car that has been in the sun and is really hot. Open the roof and heat that travels upwards, has gone. Do you use the gears for slowing down? This can save a lot in ware and tear on your brakes. Yes even in an automatic. You do have gears for a reason.

I think the term "off-road" in marketing is used loosely, as to the normal driver, "off-road" only means going off the asphalt and into some of the neighborhood gravel, and various snowy and muddy conditions. On the other hand, since "true" off-road is such a niche, specific and demanding task, the industry should coin up a new term and accreditation to differentiate. Now this may seem like a solution to a non-existent problem, but when the entire world is against you, it's the best way to go. In many industries (such as mine, which deals with precious and rare stones), specific certification is required for selling specific items, and the car industry should do the same if they find it worthwhile. Personally, I don't see a problem with marketing this as an "off-road" vehicle, as to a certain degree, It can go "off the road" better than any 2 wheel drive vehicle. Audi's been doing this for years with their marketing and I enjoy its Quattro, but I would never go seriously off-roading with them.

So I finally bought a car an wanted to said a general thank you to Dimitri / this channel for providing lots of helpful advice and information. I bought a 2021 fairly low KM used Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. I have a wife and 2 kids / recently moved to QLD (via UK/China/Russia- long story) and plan on doing plenty of camping type trips. I also surf and wanted a car I could fit the family and surf boards in (extended high way driving with surf boards on the roof is risky and the sun cooks the boards). Also want to be able to sleep in the back on solo weekend warrior surf trips. Budget was around 45k. I looked at the Tank 300 which was too small, considered the Ssangyong Rexton but seems its mainly for towing (which I don't plan to do much of) and low ground clearance makes it more of a city SUV. Briefly looked at LDV D90 but owner reviews were terrible. Plus for both Rexton/LDV parts are not common. A 7 seat Haval H5 if in Australia might have been worth a look. I'm not so concerned with resale value but that was also part of my decision, Mitsubishis are everywhere, established and popular. Hopefully will have some fun out and about. Will lose my mind if I ever see wild kangaroos lol!! Wish you all the best with the channel, will keep checking in for new content. I think your guides will help many people. Thank you!

Cheers Dimitri but a realistic review would have multiple vehicles doing the exact same challenge. You can't just rely on a single set of circumstances for one vehicle. This is not testing the off road ability, it’s a tire traction test. The T2 has great traction settings but I challenge you with any 4x4 with slick looking road tires to get up a wet grass hill. Any vehicle on this climb requires momentum and traction. Stupid test to be honest. It was always going to be a soft off-roader, look at the ground clearance and the lack of a ladder frame or heavy duty tow hooks. Install a larger DCT cooler and problem solved. Aftermarket kits are available for many vehicles with overheating.

Never heard of a Jetour before. Looks good but. Low power. Smooth tyres. Predictable results.

At least in China this beauty will kill the G Wagen. If it ever gets to Australia and is cheaper than Landcruiser it deserves to sell well. So impressive in the flesh!

That video makes no sense, how fast was the car travelling? How fast was the wheel travelling towards the car?? As Engineer who is fluent in Physics and maths this report is lacking credibility, you can literally tear to piece any car with a 100kg wheel depending on the momentum.

It's now 2024. I test drove mg zs (base model) vs haval jolion. The haval was much much nicer. Nicer inside. More tech. More safety. Nicer to drive, with a little turbo and quieter than the zs as well. Plus rear arm rest and rear air conditioning. And while the zs is cheaper than haval, im Pretty sure the zst cost more too.

Would you be able to share your view about these chinese vehicle (Haval Jolion and Tiggo 4 pro and other similar vehicle in this price range) for the upcoming year or so? My main concern is the reliability for tiggo 4 and what would be the best time to buy from now until end of next year
