The more models the merrier but the old adage of "never buy the new model" will be doubly important. The current Chinese companies seem to be maturing nicely.
Yes I agree - they are on a very rapid growth trajectory, I just doubt we need another EV in the country where - the rumor says it - some insurance companies are refusing to insure EV as those are too expensive to repair... Only a tip of the iceberg of issues related to these non-vehicles for our infrastructure mate ( sorry for late reply and I've seen your email too, been very very busy with work )
Who knows, I actually think Chinese will displace more of better established brands instead. Sure, some will fail, but some will succeed (like MG) and some "old ones" like Ford will no longer be able to compete...
I think brands like Honda , French marques ( Renault already announced leaving Aus ) , Citroen gone , possibly Peugeot as well , One of either Nissan or Mitsubishi ( more likely Nissan since only Patrol , Navara and X-Trail seems to be selling but Qashqai, Juke and Pathfinder barely selling ) but Mitsubishi other than Outlander , ASX and Triton isn't doing too hot either.
EV arguably doesn't affect traditional automakers be better. They chase a fleeting and fake trend and create an illusion of choice our consumers don't need (as much of).
I had a beautiful EV Lexus gs450H made over 350 HP sadly the hybrid battery was faulty $5THOUSAND dollars 💰 later as a pensioner I had to use life savings less than a year later it was written of in car accident when I got paid out I lost in total $8THOUSAND DOLLARS 💰 my daily driver is a base Hyundai i40 wagon petrol never ever buying hybrid again even if I could afford one 👎👎👎👎🤠🐨🦘🐊✌️
Great review Dimitri! Agree with your Haval H6 issues. The ELK and adaptive cruise control are nothing short of dangerous!
Sadly, it doesn't look like GWM cares about changing those ELK settings in Australia any time soon...

Lots more Chinese cars on the way before end 2024 but not many brands will last by end 2030

Yeah we need another EV. Help push the traditional automakers to be better including GWM.
