    Dimitri, thanks for sharing your insight and specification of this impressive new car. Personally, I love it and hope it comes to Australia. It is a further huge leap forward for not only HAVAL but for a whole new era of Chinese 4WDs that will certainly shake up the market and the segment globally. I will say one thing further, I cannot see anyone in their right mind buying a Mercedes G63 or Landrover Defender in Australia if the H9 comes here - just my humble opinion.

      @ValueCarsAU  3 дня назад +1

      I think G63 or Defender are "status" cars - show-off your wealth, more or less. No one practical and in their right mind would pick those over these rapidly improving and great looking competitor cars that have proven that they are getting better literally every year.

    Hello. I hope the H9 comes to Australia. I also hope its a cheaper 7 seater than the Tank 500. Out of curiosity, did you ever fill up your LDV D90, using all three rows and if so, what was the driving like full-time fully loaded?

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  4 дня назад +2

      Never fully filled up my LDV D90, but could have for family travels with all 4 of us plus luggage - just didn't get to that point, sadly (and yes I regret selling it now).

    That is one sexy beast! I will be back in China from 8-12 October. The overlords are insisting I attend their new factory opening and local government meetings. I've been through these junkets before which are boring as hell, I will just be there as a token foreign customer. At least I don't have to waste time getting a visa anymore...
    My buddy there recently traded his G Wagen on a new Huawei PHEV. We will never see that here obviously and I am looking forward to going for a ride. Top of the line at $80,000 AUD (over there) and he reckons that the Huawei makes the Merc look like a bucket of 1/2 baked bolts. I never liked the G Wagen much, terrible value for money.

    The car does look impressive. But I'm sure their will be things that annoy me about it. As with all cars. As no car is perfect. However a very strong engine is most important factor for cars of this size. Imagine carrying 7 people, luggage etc and its struggling. It's the trade of between performance v price. If it's cheaper price the engine will be adequate. Not exceptional. Still a good looking car. Best I've seen from haval.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  3 дня назад

      Yep I agree - every car from every manufacturer has pros and cons. This one is the best Haval by far.

    There’s no doubt that Chinese cars in the main are very well styled and competitively priced. Over the past 5 years however we have been bombarded with journalistic hyperbole about Japanese vehicle manufacturers trembling in their boots with each new Chinese made car coming into market. Except, once in market these Chinese vehicles don’t stand shoulder to shoulder with their Japanese competitors. The selling point of Chinese cars seems to be price, style and warranty not engineering, reliability and life cycle ownership. A fairer target maybe is Stellantis N.V and some Euro products which don’t stand tall with regard to solid reliability and fit for purpose. Not anti Chinese cars, they are good for what they but a Tank 300 is well short of a Pajero Sport as a usable 4wd vehicle and I don’t think a Havel H9 or Tank 500 is in the same Venn as a Prado.

    • @hynoor7254
      @hynoor7254 3 дня назад +1

      regarding the reliability of the Chinese cars, I think your conclusion could be more convincible after at least 5 years later and review the feedback from the owners, you made you opinion too early.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  3 дня назад

      The fact of the matter is that no Chinese (or any other relatively new) brand would be able to compete with e.g. Toyota simply due to their longevity on the market and spread across the country. So we might as well give up on anyone winning that competition. Instead, Chinese are doing what Koreans did 15 years ago and persevere iterating faster than Japanese (who plateaued) and offering much better value for money. Not many people need something that would last them 10+ years these days. Times have changed. People exchange cars a lot more often. So, the entry price, quality, luxury (even perceived one) wins hands down - IN MASS MARKET - over longevity.

    • @ValueCarsAU

    Hopefully they can work on the fuel economy for the H9 as the hybrid Tank 300 & 500s just chug fuel like no tomorrow. It makes the hybrid system pointless. I can't even see this car coming to Australia as it's so fuel inefficient and there is no hybrid version, it simply won't sell well here. The Jolion & H6 are selling well because it's cheaper and similar/better than the Toyota equivalents (Prado 7.6L/100km & Kluger 5.6L/100km). If the H9 uses 2x as much fuel (11.4L/100km) as the Toyota equivalent, people will buy the Toyota instead.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  3 дня назад

      How is petrol Kluger anywhere more fuel efficient than either this, or any other GWM vehicle? Of course Jolion & Co sell well because they are cheaper (and almost as good a quality compared to China-made Toyotas like Corolla Cross), and so would this masterpiece if it came to our shores. You pump out a seemingly thoughtful comment but then once I read it, it just twists facts and lacks common sense. Unless I've missed some other very deep meaning you tried to put into this.

    • @elitechampion
      @elitechampion 3 дня назад

      @@ValueCarsAU You can't buy a new petrol Kluger so it's a fair comparison as they are only sold as hybrids. From what I read, the H9 doesn't come in a hybrid version. The fuel economy is far worse than the diesel Prado as well.
