- You could be forgiven for thinking this big Tank 500 is merely a pastiche of a Land Cruiser/Land Cruiser Prado based on looks alone, but a decent drive shows it is not all fur coat and no knickers.

It has one thing the others don’t: it is a hybrid, and a good one at that.
There are relatively few real competitors among the SUVs plying their trade up and down the shopping centre car parks. Buyers pretend to a lifestyle of open road adventures, camping where they please, traversing sand, mud, rock, and mountain. In reality they collect groceries and ferry little darlings through chronically clogged streets to overpriced or overcrowded schools. The scourge of school hours continues, so it is understandable that buyers dream of a vagabond experience
Tank 500 Ultra tops the range of 2 models, with the base model also getting a goodly sprinkling of fairy dust. It is about here where we normally lurch into the murky world of standard fittings. so we’ll just mention a few of our favourites.

I hope so. Toyota is good but the “Toyota Tax” is just too much, and in some cases, its too much for less features for the specific trim level. I opine there should be really stiff competition to knock the certain competitors back to their senses

I have that same GWM tank300 .. I brought mine brand new FEB 1st 2024.. days later I looked underneath.. RUST COVERED. It was brand new 🆕. GWM responded “ yeh that’s normal and not our problem but urs for not taking care of it”!!
How is this my fault if it was rusty before I brought it?

These tanks or all GWM vehicles are moved in open crates on ships 🚢 in the northern sea.🌊 some fall into the sea.. waves crash over . They also sit at sea waiting to dock for months , sometimes open to all elements. They are not rust proof at all! Nor made to be near ocean. $50,000 later and 6 mths later I’m still fighting this bulshit.! I’m in 🇦🇺 Aus. DONT BUY GWM anything . U WILL BE VERY SORRY 😢 AS I AM.

I have had this car for 2 weeks，it is better than I wanted.
The Jolion and H6 have proven to be pretty road bust and reliable and don't see why this will be the same GVM are really starting to kick goals also from what I've seen 4x4 reviews it's a very capable off roader
Toyota should be worried, all of the established mastheads should be very worried
looks like a great car. Noticed you're showing both overseas chrome grill (rego ...8YH) and Aus chrome grills (reg...8YQ) in your video. Didn't realise they were both available in Aus?
That's a good question. We didn't ask GWM. Either they're both available here, or on the day, an overseas spec crept into filming
I love driving my Tank 500 Ulta, but night time driving is a nightmare. The High beam is lower than the Low beam. Yes its brighter, but its shinning at road right in front of the car instead of above the road. If I adjust it higher then the low beam is blinding other drivers. They need to fix this.
that's a fascinating insight. I tested the high low beam but only in an underground garage as we ran out of time. Have you raised the concern with GWM?
What jurisdiction are you in?
@@gaycarboys I Got the local GWM dealer to adjust the high beam, but then a lot of drivers were Flashing their headlights at me because the Low beam was blinding them. I have adjusted them back down again, now high beam is useless again. Its like $2000 to buy new headlight assemblies & we shouldn't have to do that. I would consider my Tank 500 not roadworthy the way the lights are.
I suggest ringing the customer care line. that's simply not good enough. you need properly adjusted lights by law

only time will tell. Most will get used on the road so it certainly seems good for that. long warranty so the brand must have confidence

I love all these RUclips reviews pushing this Chinese Crap. One thing I do agree with is Australia is being paying to much for certain cars, but we cannot compare quality with crap.

Nice looking four-wheel drive but the engine just doesn't cut it for towing bigger things I'm afraid I prefer a Ford Everest because it has a V6 turbo diesel engine like the tank 500 should have it would be more popular not to mention it looks cheap inside the cabin👎🇨🇳👍🇯🇵
