I tinted the sunroof on my 2023 model now great. As for brakes I also had to do it early . But my dealership discounted it because they also were little embarrassed that they needed doing
I once had a car with a sunroof, not panoramic, just the old school kind, and my head constantly felt like it was burning, even in winter. This was in SW Sydney. It, thankfully, had a thick sunshade, but as you say, it barely got used, and we've decided to never get a car with a sunroof again.
My 21 Essence has 35.000 K/ms on the clock, my breaks are half warn, in relation to the car starting l have only experience it once, road side assistance attended and he explained that there unburnt fuel in the system and to fix the issue hold your foot on the gas to the floor for 3 to 5 seconds and then the car will start, with the other issues you raise l don't find them annoying at all. I am in the process of comparing the MG against a BMW X2, ( own both) one will be sold early next year, at this point the MG is way ahead of the BMW. Love my my ZST Essence and had no issues withe car which is 4 years old in February '25
Sun roofs are great when getting into a car that has been in the sun and is really hot. Open the roof and heat that travels upwards, has gone. Do you use the gears for slowing down? This can save a lot in ware and tear on your brakes. Yes even in an automatic. You do have gears for a reason.
I think it's the turbo models that need 95+, my wife has a vibe and it runs on 91. My HS ev+ needs 95. The sun roof shade could be thicker but you get use to the light, I don't think it's that much hotter. Love your opinions and work 😉
Yeah you can't get used to virtually anything but mate have you *actually* driven in this car through one or two summers here down under? Or just took your wife's car for a spin once or twice? 😉 (it's gets hot as hell in summer, is all I'm saying)
Thanks mate, I concur on all the above. We have a Dec '21 ZST EXCITE, awesome on long trip and does 1ltr less per 100km than our 2015 6spd Man Corolla Sport. Wasn't aware of the 20k brakes replacement deal...Will look into it....I got new pads and machined disc rotors at 97k on our Corolla... Got it serviced at my local authorised mechanic as he services all MGs hire cars at Gold Coast Airport.... tho now computer tells us it's overdue for service....must do some homework on that... Cheers mate 🤙✨🚗🏁
Hi, south Wales owner here 🏴🇬🇧, same moaning all over the place, this country that country, all countries 🙄my 19 plate zs same few niggles 😒, owned it 4 months now these problems are not going to be fixed, they MG want short term sales they could offer a 10 year warranty makes no difference they rely on owners selling on and moving on, liked and subbed stay safe 🙏my radio turns off hold the home button until it shuts down 👍
Thanks for sharing your experience mate, I hope you are all safe from the riots and stuff - sounds scary when we listen from the distance to what's going on in UK
Thank you for posting this. I have just bought a 2024 MG ZS and I find the center console poorly designed. It is small and awkward. It has two small bottle holders and a funny small square which is no good for anything really and the hand break. A small issue, but I am happy with the car overall.
And the horn that sounds when you leave the key in the car... Especially if there are still other people inside when you jump out to refuel or a quick errand... Perhaps it can be switched off?
Don't get the service issue with Mycar. It might be related to their partnership with BYD. It is illegal anyway, statutory warranty cannot be voided by using a accredited mechanic. Still if the car is nearly 3 y/o just wait, then service. They can't ping you for being a week late.

I'm pretty sure outs is tinted too (otherwise we wouldn't survive in it)

Yeah mate, my wife and I were both like - oh yeah a car with sunroof, let's get it! - and then were like omg what have we done! 🤣

It’s very hot in summer .The updated models need real leather seats with cooling and a thicker sunshade to eliminate the heat .

Thanks for sharing your experience mate, good to hear from you.
Be happy the car mechanics still going good . I have my eyes on the new d90 arriving end of year
I'm happy the mechanics are good. D90 is also SAIC, we'll see how good it is when it's in stock to take a look at.

Yeah it's not the greatest design but they also don't have that much space to play with in there... Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Good point, forgot about that! I think it's somewhat helpful to alert forgetful people, but would be good if it could be switched off for sure!
Hey Dimitiri, may I suggest you get your windows tinted, car will be much cooler and will look nicer also.
Of course they are tinted, or we'd never survive with this car for 3 years mate 😉
Just purchased most I discover the front windshield wipers can't be raised making it awkward to clean the windshield or change wiper blades ?
Hmmm interesting, I didn't notice this much - maybe movement is a bit limited but surely not a show-stopper?

True story mate, no idea what's up with that as I said. 🤷♀️
Good information! Thanks.
Glad to hear you liked it
You have a bad cut in your tyre
Yep I've noticed, it's my wife's car and I haven't looked at the driver side tires too closely for a while to be honest
