  • I've had my Subaru Outback for 6 Months and have travelled for over 6000 Kms in it... During the time of recording it was 5000 but at the moment of publishing already 1k more! 🤦
    The Honeymoon period is well and truly over, and today I'd like to share my honest reflections on what I like and what I don't like about owning a Subaru Outback in Australia.

    Love my outback. Best car I've ever owned. Mine is a 2019 model, however.

    I love my 2024 XT sports. It's automatic and done just over 7K, and I average 8.7 ltr, and that's just doing city driving

      I regret not getting an XT. Not even sure why - it's like one wasn't offered to me, just this one 2.5L not turbo...

    Subaru's are under rated. I have an outback, liberty and two foresters. Magnificent experience with all of them.

      I agree, they are "not worse" than e.g. the King of them all - Toyota. Problem of Subaru is that it has only one "type" of vehicle body, no proper tall 4x4 which pigeon-holes them a bit.

      @@ValueCarsAU Yes, imagine if Subaru had built a Pajero style 4x4 - unibody, with diff locks etc..and serious towing capacity.

    Have you got the infotainment update was great to add shortcuts for s/s and auto hold. Also increases the size of the fan controls.

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  13 дней назад

      Nope, is one available in Australia? Maybe during the next service.

      @@ValueCarsAU yes the dealers in aus are terrible slow at theses things. You basically have to tell them it's available and you would like it. UK and states had it last year so dealers here only got it few months back.

    Great review Dimitri. I respect your opinion (comparison) but maybe don't agree with it. Having said that my sister is looking to buy an outback. I have forwarded this to her. :-)

      Do you own a Subaru? Which parts do you disagree with (if you do own one)?

    10 to 11L p 100km is about the average big suv forester is classed as mid size outback known as LARGE. AWD on any car will give inferior fuel economy

    • @ValueCarsAU
      @ValueCarsAU  2 месяца назад +1

      Obviously AWD won't be very economical but I still find it on a high range of consumption

      @@ValueCarsAU I was gettign 7.5 in my 2021 that was mostly 60-80 with 50% being stop start traffic.

    I was really disappointed with my last two Outbacks. My 2010 was the shittest car I have ever had, the build quality was low, it twisted so much on uneven surfaces I couldn't open the boot, and the paint and headlights deteriorated in the sun which I have never had happen before on a car. Fortunately the 2010 model was cheap to buy so I guess there was that. The 2021 Model I was excited for and the quality was improved, but I had issues with the stop start stalling, dealer couldn't figure it out, the 2.5 was nice but oh so slow, and the infotainment was a mess with constant crashing and virtually unusable. Worst of all it was $50k (Touring) and I almost couldn't give it away, worst resale I have ever experienced. Sadly its my last Subaru after owning many.

      Very strange and rather unique feedback regarding a Subaru because you're literally the only one who seems to have a legitimate complaint among hundreds of reviews that I went through before buying mine. Sure, it's not perfect - as my video highlights - but nothing like what you've described. Maybe it's the level of expectations? What are you comparing your Subarus to? And if you had the "shittiest car you've ever had" - what made you buy another one of those? 🤷‍♀️🤣
