In the 80s we would paint our Nascar Late Model Ford Thunderbird with Implement paint. Ford Blue looked good from the stands. Once it was all lettered up it was one of the best looking cars on the track. But then in the early 90s everything was pre bent panels and came already painted. The old skinned cars looked better to me.

I have a 1984c30 dually with a 5.7 with an auto transmission, Would this same steps apply ? Thanks in advance.

Oil base hummmmmmm. I would of went water base. But all and all i been painter 27yrs and i have used tractor supply paint on work trucks,mud trucks and hood on white car. Oil base is no fun cleaning and prepping for new paint. Oil likes to mold when it fails,plus it will spiderweb crack if to thick when drys or orange peel.. and white vinegar and water is really good for cleaning surfaces before painting or 70% or higher rubbing alcohol. And wet ground before you paint so wind or air coming out gun don't kick anything up on paint job..

Sounds a lot like mine (2018 5.0). Just replaced my camshaft position sensors and VVT solenoids and still have noise. I'll take a look at this. And I'll be doing oil changes more often.

I painted my tractor with same paint. It turned pink pretty fast. Maybe a year or two.

Not much class or style. But the finished product is great, IMO. If I was living near him I'd get him to paint my 1990 Mitsubishi TP Magna. Great job for the time, effort, and money.

I understand that you had to use a thick adapter plate in this case, but what does one do if the previously-used bellhousing isn't as deep as the new one? In other words, the input shaft for the transmission won't reach the pilot bearing?

Looks a whole lot better than any Maaco paint job!

the only thing i can think of that might make it better for your needs would be some t rex teeth in the clamshell, you can probably get some chainsaw antikick cleats and just buzz them onto the outer sides for that extra grapple control
