As some others have suggested, I really love the Super GT vibes the aero designers integrated into this CR-V. Definitely cool to see engineers being able to let loose a little on design and construction. 👍
Larry Chen is a real artist with real talent, he’s also a true car nerd and enthusiast. His pictures and words need to be cherished. The man is a legend. He is the real deal
Time attack/hillclimb (pikes peak as Larry talks about). Seems like the perfect car for it. Really cool to hear James and Larry talk about the inspiration behind this machine. It also looks so similar to a Renault Clio V6, but that's just my Gran Turismo 4 enthusiast take. Really cool experiment.
If they do run it they would have to make the hybrid part more reliable if it isn’t already because the indy engine would start suffocating at high altitudes.
As soon as I saw this I thought of the Renaut Espace F1 van Team Renault built and Alain Prost drove. Ford also had their Supervans and BMW had the V12 X5 Lemans. So cool when companies through out the rule books on non-sports car ideas and go all out!
While Larry was excited to drop the Renault eSpace F1 similarities, I feel like the HPD rep downplayed it when clearly is was a major part of the inspiration. If you’ve never seen the Renault vid, go watch it.

Just saw this thing in person at the 2023 St. Pete grand prix over the past weekend. Video just doesn't do this thing justice. So much more impressive in person! It's absolutely a stunning piece of automotive artwork!

The last time Honda let their engineers take a car and go out and build whatever they want, they made a Rwd Honda City that was the main idea that turned into the beloved NSX. We love when engineers can build with no rules!
I love that brands like Honda can still produce something mad like this as an exercise...this is something missing from most of the brands who should take them less seriously and build something fun and inspirational at the same time.
Love your channel, brother. I think your work is awesome, and all the work that has gone into this car is truly amazing, I just can not get into the entire EV deal. Do people understand what it takes to get all that metal out of the ground, and when the batteries are done, they are done. Gasoline forever.
Bought my first car at 24 and it's a '21 Honda CR-V. Couldn't have been more excited to see this pop on my feed. Financially at my lowest point in life right now and I'm struggling to make my monthly instalments but if all goes well I'd love to keep it and do something similar. What an inspiration!

Mad respect to Honda(HPD) for backing two very insane builds recently, the IndyTruck was gnarly but this definitely takes the cake.
I'm way more impressed with this than the IndyTruck!
The aero blades and canards on the side sill are very Super GT as well. It would be super cool if this turned up at Goodwood!
