Larry you have to visit JM Lexus in Margate Florida. It was Jim Moran who was the first Toyota dealer in the United States. Toyoda wanted to meet this American that was generating so many sales outside of Japan for him and after meeting Jim Moran it was Jim Moran who gave Mr.Toyoda the idea for a more luxurious line of vehicles which we know as the Lexus line. Jim Moran has a beautiful museum at JM Lexus enterprise’s which you would have a great time learning about the influence that Mr.Moran had in making Toyota what it is today.
I'm currently a minute and a half into the video. BUT, before I get back to it, can we all appreciate Larry's intentional use of his inside (a museum) voice? Respect Missa Chen.
I love Nagoya , lived there from 1980-1984, graduated from high school at. Nagoya International School. Best time of my life. You should visit the Honda museum at Suzuka Circuit. And if you ever get the opportunity to visit. Barbers Motorsports museum, it’s the best place on earth.
That and the camera shutter sound way at the end. I sometimes forget to like his videos, but the outro always makes me click the like button😊. I'm 8 minutes into the vid now and already can't wait to get to the outro😅
Oooohhh... When you panned down at that '66 corolla I got the biggest smile on my face!!! Many memories of my old man owning a white with red interior and a blue one with grey interior (both automatic 'Toyoglide') and both impeccable! Also loved seeing some ae82 Corollas at the start on those advertisements (I'm an owner of several lol) 😊 awesome video dude
I visited the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology in 2017 and spent probably 3 or 4 hours just nerding out also. It's such an amazing place!
This is cool, my wife aunt bought a Volvo in Germany and was allowed to go in and installed 2 of the bolts on her car that was made to her specific order.
Larry! Love the pristine condition survivor cars ... especially Toyota. Would love to see more of the same; Nissan, Subaru, the whole Japanese JDM lineup, and also American; Ford, Chevy. It tickles the imagination that there are actually like-new examples of these lovelies out there. I'd like to see stories on how these cars are maintained or stored for 30 plus years... and still roadworthy.
The 2000GT EV was so battle scarred because it was actually driven around using electricity before Tesla was even a thing. The car was also wrapped in "futuristic" EV livery and logos, and it spotted TE37s. It was a wild time. It was also probably when Toyoda decided not to double down on the whole BEV nonsense, at least not yet
10:22 you say its ugly, its super ahead of its time. The entire hatch is the piece of glass and the piece of glass alone. Thats a design that came back in the Volvo xc30 and more modern cheap hatches in Europe. But it started from this tercel.
I remember Larry when he was part of sport compact car magazine during the mid 2000's😂.. Damn i feel old, i been buillding cars since my college days in 97😂
A lot of the vehicles were yanked from the pallette town site in odaiba, Tokyo when they shut down the Toyota Meg@Web there. I would imagine restoration jobs will have to restart one day when they felt like it. The Nagoya site always had this "it is what it is" feel to it, despite being the museum located right at the HQ.
Some of the designers of the Toyota also did the Jag and Datsun 240Z. You can see the same influence of each car. Yamaha has a long history of working with Toyota. Also Yamaha had a hand in engine performance and chassis design. Later yamaha designed the 2JZ head. Then designed the engine and Yamaha's musical inst department tuned the exhaust tone on the LFA.
Yamaha also designed the 3S-GE/GTE heads. They have yamaha on the casting. I think maybe they might've had a hand in most of the GE coded engines but not 100%
I’d say all of those vehicles are part of Toyota’s collection and have been with them since new. Too bad you didn’t see any of the mileage on the vehicles. The machines are probably old ones that were taken off the production floor. All manufacturers have their own private collections, just a few let people see them
SO THAT'S what happened to that EV 2000GT, I remember seeing it at the Detroit Auto show over a decade ago but back then it had all this ugly green and black vinyl job all over it with Panasonic, plus the hood had solar panels covering it. You can google search its older look and see that the interior back then matches the one in this video.

That’s pretty sick thanks for the knowledge bro!
Top tier dealership experience too .... As far as dealerships go
He owns the first factory manual SC400.
LEXUS Luxury Export to the US
All this time living here and I never knew that. That would explain why we see a lot of Lexus around here.

pop up,pop, pop pop pop it up.
POP UP, UP N DOWN HEADLIGHTTTTTTSSSS !!!!!
As a hardcore toyota guy the 1uz is my fav engine it had no design flaws and one of the few production engines thats FAA certified
I always love your japan visits Larry. Got to spend time in Okinawa in the Army but never made it main land. Thats a goal in my life.
I love Nagoya , lived there from 1980-1984, graduated from high school at. Nagoya International School. Best time of my life.

I love your outro sequence. I always watch it. Especially when those two drift cars collide.

I grew up when the Celica GT came out, it was a beauty of a car.

I had a friend when I was in high school that had a tercel in the 90s it was fun to bang around with them in it.
Go to Honda museum!
1UZ is special because it's FAA approved motor for aviation as well. Look it up

is the century for mike lol, i appreciate these video's as i do not expect to be able to afford to visit Japan even though i would like to.

❤😎👍 11:45 Toyota Soarer !!
Someone needs to put the lexus LFA engine in a 2000gt
Absolutely mind blowing 🙏🏁💯😎
The new cars are cool but I just love the older cars.
6:02 the wood trim in the windows, their first car? So nice
Be way interesting if TRD had a technical museum…
Looks like the museum is still in process of setting up. Maybe more in progress / restoration?

@@IdiotRace Nice,
I'm not much into the 4cyl engines.
I think the turbo version of that engine was in the Celica and MR2.
Yamaha has history building with Ford also😎
@@72Dexter72Manley72are you referring to the 3gste? It's built like a v8😎
@@philipwilliams3427 Yeah, to me the intake of that early Taurus SHO engine was beautiful.
Joji Luz has the number 5 Celica here in Southern California
First saw a 2000GT in 1969, it was an equisite machine then.
That 2000 GT is what wet dreams are made of.
Lets Go Larry!!! 💪🏽💯💪🏽
One of the rarest cars in the world Toyota 2000 Gt only seen it in GranTurismo 2 for PS2 LOL.
Gran turismo 2 was PlayStation 1 😂, you are thinking about gran tourismo 3 for the ps2
I hope we get to see the production line
Honda collection hall plzzz
If a Fiat X19A had a baby with an Avanti you would get the Toyota ESV. Very cool stuff!
Please post some more Toyota prints up, specifically Celicas, 4Runners, and Hilux’s. You ever shot any 1990’s Toyota Noah’s?
Wow am going to Japan to see coool
My first car was a 96 Tercel.

diddnt alot of the cars come from the megaweb that used to be in odaiba that closed down
Pretty sure that’s an mx73 drivetrain on display.
No one puts baby in the corner!
I am waiting for a auto ship to land in Nagoya. Then return to Canada with my Daihatsu Hijet..
Take some rest larry bro!
14:17 what car is that?
Japan was living the year 2000 back in1980, as it is now... When is Larry Chen showcasing Chinese car culture?
I believe he has, he highlighted Taiwan, Thailand, ireland
Hey Larry have you ever checked out some of Toyota's Motorsport vehicles in Germany worth a look. 👍🏻
Toyota collection Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe GmbH
I should call this 2000gt ev.

2000GT EV?!
2000EV.
My dream watch and drive r34 gtr but ev 😅 i hope nissan make it real 🙏
PSA: the 2000gt was not a supercar and its elevation to supercar status is cope for Japan's mostly pedestrian, even boring output for decades
If they did convert that 2000gt to ev then they ruined it lol
It’s a no from me dawg
That horn sounded like a clown car horn. Lol
