This poor baby, he got the worst wounds and saved people's lives holding the door open for students who were running. Such a noble and honorable person, truly a hero
He was a man that day.

Omg this poor baby 😢😢😢
To hear the gory details of this child's gunshot wounds is truly gut wrenching. Let it Never be forgotten that Peter Wangs bravery & heroic act saved many lives. RIP Peter.
Child or adult it is horrible for both.
Peter Wang had a brave and decent heart - he was a Hero! He was the total opposite of the Monster Cruz, who murdered those who were everything he was not and wanted to be!
@@christinebuckingham8369 exactly, he probably constantly compared his sad life to people like Peter who was probably talking to girls, getting good grades, playing sports, while Cruz was cowardly judging causing him to hate the world
@@key6723 Key, I agree with you and Christine 1,000%. ….Everything he wasn’t, nor will ever be. In this life or the next. Smh.
My heart really hurts for these families it’s truly emotionally heart wrenching
Peter Wang was a hero that day. He opened the door and held it open for children to run through and sacrificed himself in the process. He should be honored and remembered always. His wounds are absolutely devastating. On August 27th it will be exactly 10 years since I lost a loved one to murder by 5 gunshots. (RIP James Nathan Groat.)
It’s truly horrifying what happens to the human body when shot. My heart hurts so much for all of these families. 💔
I’m so sorry for your loss 💕

Sorry 4 ur temporary separation. Rip and prayers 🙏 big hugs too 🫂 u should watch the movie 🎥🍿 called 90 minutes in heaven by don piper. Based on true story . At least watch the trailer. I met him in person five times before covid-19 virus.
My heart goes out to you. Truly demonic souls roam this earth. May The Lord keep you & your family forever in his care.
I'm very sorry for your loss now they need to show this kid what happeneds when u kill someone put this killed and show him the death penalty on him
why is the judge letting him put his fingers in his ears - make him hear everything - handcuff him if necessary - he should not be allowed to doodle - pay attention - so disrespectful to victims and families
Agree!
I agree. He should be forced to stand and face those testifying
I love this comment.
You can bet that Gov. Ron DeSantis (FL), Gov. Greg Abbott (TX), The NRA are all standing by with the ears covered (Like Nicolas Cruz) and blindfolded as well, so they don't have to hear any of this and can just brush off these mass shootings in the schools of their states so it can all "blow over" and they be about their merry way....continuing to divide, repress, discriminate against minorities or anyone who has an ideology outside of their own. And of course collect the donor money towards their next election.
Agree
Absolutely horrific. It takes a special type of person to examine and identify these kind of wounds especially on an innocent teenager. This woman is made of seriously strong stuff.
The people who do these examinations have my greatest respect and deepest gratitude.
Was a first thought, as well, and probably by many?! It does take a special kind of person to be able to stomach + perform this type of work. Hard to even wrap around our layman heads. Can't even imagine that your child is gone and you can't even see them 1 last time because of how unspeakable to us their injuries are with these damn assault rifles! So much sadness and grief that will last for life for everyone that knew + loved any of the victims, for all Schools and other shootings that an AR style is involved.
But to be a parent, their pain and sorrow is unfathomable and then they have to try to sit through it whenever there is a trial. Just so heartbreaking. 😭💔 RIP to ALL victims, especially children, because all students are still basically children! All parents, even to adults, will always refer to them as their child or baby. 🕊️
@@row_sea Very beautiful comment, rowsea. The end of your comment is beyond true. I'm in my 30's and my dad still calls me his little princess while my mom calls me pumpkin. (In public haha) If I had kids I know I'd do the same! If you're a parent, you are an amazing one. If you aren't, you'd make a wonderful one. Either way, you're a great human being for having so much compassion the way you do. It's incredibly rare.❤
@@ruthlewis6678 Same here! I'm not sure if you've seen the trial for Cherish Perrywinkle but the medical examiner nearly broke and needed a little break when she was going over the girls injuries. She's an amazing woman.
@@pigtailsandteddybears Also, how adorable Dad calls you his "little princess" + Mom calls you "pumpkin" (even in public).
I love it & can see how proud you are + should be! 🌹
Her testimony was gut wrenching. She used her words and her hand gestures so effectively that even without seeing the photographs, it was possible to visualize the young man’s devastating injuries and the brutality of his murder.
Let alone, if you have some knowledge of the JFK assassination and have seen the Zapruder movie. The head injury of JFK was devastating, and now imagine, that the AR15 in the parkland shooting is much more powerful than a Mannlicher-Carcano. And the shoots were probably from a much shorter distance.,
Peter was a hero. Posthumously accepted into West Point because of his honor and bravery. There is no thanks enough that can be given for such a sacrifice. I hope his family can achieve what seems impossible and find some semblance of peace. Although, they lost what was most dear, Peter displayed the upmost courage in the face of evil and fear which is something we all could only hope to be able to do. Many blessings to his mother and family.
He sure was. How awful.
Beautifully well said! Peter is a hero who I will NEVER forget. He's the best of our country -- courageous and patriotic and honorable. . . and although he was still legally a boy at the time, he was truly a man for his honor and bravery.
I wish he had survived! . . . he is the exact opposite of the killer, whose name I refuse to even write. Instead, I will remember the names of the students who were killed, and especially Peter, who had more honor, courage, and compassion as a teenager, than many people ever have. ❤💔❤
Just based on what he did to Wang he should get the death penalty. And there's 16 others!!! This CANNOT end in anything other than him getting the worse possible punishment!! As a parent, I'm in tears as I hear the testimony 😢 I can't even begin to imagine what the parents are feeling 💔
I feel like death just isn't a big enough punishment. One death can't make up for 17 lives.
I believe keeping him in jail forever is more suffering than death. He wants to die, why give him that?
@@RileyGoss Nothing will ever make up for the 17 lives. There is no justice when it comes to murder unless you have a time machine or a resurrection stone.
@@adaeze4873 ok, but I still think that death is an easy fate for this psycho. And it can take many many years for someone to actually receive it. Life in prison would be my option if he killed my familia, esp being the weirdo he is, he’ll get tortured in there.
@@Booshiehallie No worries, he will sit all alone on Death Row waiting to die for several years. Best of both worlds.
I believe that, in a split second, Peter Wang knew he wasn’t getting out of there alive. But he was determined to fight and that meant to save as many people as he could. God bless him!!!! What an amazing young man!!!
Peters mother was so broken that she couldnt even testify. She kept crying the whole time, it must haunt her what happened to her baby.
He should be in handcuffs at all times. Excellent point I saw someone make. It’s ridiculous he gets to even sit freely in front of the families and parents who’s children he’s killed and lives changed forever
Take the gun away from him and he's not violent, he's only feels tough when he has a gun in his hand.
Right and in JAIL CLOTHES
Very true! However its actually a good thing that we have a system (court) which treats each person in a civil matter before the verdict. This proves it.
@@NancyASMR The verdict has already been reached - guilty! This is the penalty phase of the trial.
I’m not saying I disagree but in most trials the defendant is dressed in regular clothes and no handcuffs to make sure there is no bias from the jury. Which bias could be used in appeals. I do believe in the death penalty so if he has to wear normal clothes now for him to die sooner his clothes don’t matter.
Peter Wang seems to have been the worst victim, cruz just blew Peters head to pieces. My heart goes out to the family of that young man. I'm so sad for Peter. Words are failing me
I agree. There is nothing that compares to this. Nick Cruz has no heart or conscience.
I think reports state that Peter held a door open for others to escape and was then unable to escape himself. Cruz tried to hit the escaping students through a window. Maybe Cruz then just decided to destroy Peter Wang in an additional fit of rage. The poor young man was honoured by the army. He was an ROTC and was wearing his uniform when he gave his life for others.
He was likely targeting him in that moment as an outlet of frustration due to the fact that he helped a lot of people escape. All the more reason to praise Wang as a Hero, as he upset Cruz that much over his own personal failure to kill more people. Or that he was Asian. I'll bet Cruz never even knew Wang was in ROTC like he was.
@@gfx2943 I read that Peter Wang was in uniform that day. I agree with your analysis as regards the rage and "revenge" response.
Leftism is a mental disorder.
I still have no idea how any parent or relative can sit through this without attacking the shooter in court

Or at least hollering out at him. Especially during impact statements.
Mr. Schachter's frown is the epitome of pain and suffering... A perfect, upside down U. It's so heartbreaking.

I think having this incredibly sad trial televised will help to reduce the level of desensitisation that many face from hearing these types of incidents happening over and over again. One of the saddest trials to ever have been publicly shown in a long time and I really hope it paves the way forward for some real tangible change. Simply horrific.
Your point here hasnt been made enough of, and it surely should be. Often the public is "protected" from laying witness to such graphic testimony..."viewer discretion: graphic details, hard to listen to, yada, yada..." Well everyone, it SHOULD SHOULD be hard to listen to, and you have an obligation TO listen to it. How else will the public realize what murderous weapons we are LEGALLY providing to psychopathic TEENAGERS!
No... The right keeps ensuring as many automatic weapons are as easily accessible as possible... Nothing will change until the right does.

Sorry but when americans still chose their guns after Sandyhook, i gave up.
I doubt it, while this is matter is in the courts, ulvade happened. So unless something happens in a big way to make gun control happen America is going to see this time and time again.

This young MAN and a Solider perished while holding a door open and covering fellow students that were trying to exit and escape the killer. Yes he was shot approximately 12 times while holding the door. Those 12 bullets COULD have been put into 12 other kids that would have died . This young man went into a mindset of putting others safety before his own safety and life.
“ No man hath greater HONOR the he that lays HIS LIFE down for a fellow man “
Peter posthumously received as an Army ROTC Cadet the “ Medal of Heroism “ what is in comparison to an active military solider the CMH or “ Congressional Medal of Honor. “ He also posthumously received a full acceptance into West Point Military Academy which was his life long goal to be accepted into. He received a military funeral with MANY high ranking Brass and enlisted and cadet personnel present that day.
It’s sad that this young man’s life was cut very short when he wanted a future in West Point and to graduate from the most prestigious military academy in the country and become an officer and a leader and to command soldiers whether in peace time or in combat abroad . Yet God had other plans for this brave young man and solider. Another place at another time. It was there that moment that horrific day at that school under those combat conditions and saving those fellow students lives that he was to do what he felt was his job his command his mission. He did it WITHOUT a second thought or fear and most of all with the utmost bravery found in only a very few men who do it WILLINGLY . He was a leader , not a follower. He needed no orders or commands to do what he did. He went above and beyond the call of duty that day without any weapons in his hands. He carried nothing with him or on him that day but his bravery and honor.
As a solider myself , I stand and salute you Peter Wang. You as a brother in arms have my complete and utmost respect ✊ I wish I could have served under your command one day.
Thank you for this information, esp of how he was decorated, and for your comment 🙏🏻

For real. That’s what I said. This is all pointless. Torture should be mandatory. Make him beg for forgiveness
He's been given the glasses, which is why they don't fit him. What a bizarre thing to comment on.
He’s part of our society.. you wanna put all the blame on the shooter but not on our support systems that absolutely failed this kid. Mental health services, Law enforcement, the School, Nobody showed Nikolas that they cared for him which definitely is a factor in why he did what he did.
Not trying to condone what he did of course, but if we could have only just have empathy for these people when they were showing warning signs, like getting into fights at school, making threats, and stop labeling them as troubled or crazy, and adding to this lifetime of loneliness and rejection they feel, and make our support systems better then they are now, then we can prevent these types of perpetrators from ever getting to a point where they have to go in a murder spree.
@@brandonayala4605 Actually, his foster parents seem nice. There’s really nothing they could’ve done except for his mother not doing what she did!!! Evil is based on free will not psychopathology. It takes a lot of nerve to ask for mercy after committing such atrocious acts.. Condolences and as much healing as is possible to the families and friends.

Mercy to the merciless. Guess you get karma points
He won’t get mercy he’s gonna get death
@@darrensanimalsreptilesfish30 why should he. Death is a mercy according to some of y’all
I think his defense team is not so much asking for mercy as presenting so-called mitigating factors in response to the prosecution’s aggravating factors. They are obligated to do that because otherwise, it could be called a mistrial due to ineffective counsel and they’d have to take it from zero. The more the defense does now, the weaker his appeal or chances to claim he didn’t get his right to an attorney
How she uses her hands to explain is so descriptive I can't believe this happened to a 15 yr old child. So sad!!

How gruesome to have to hear the exact details of injuries of the victims. Is it really necessary to fully understand that the crime was beyond terrible? Humans should know that no one has the right to take another's life. . .especially in such a violent, evil manner. Unexcusable!
For the jury, yes. They have a very tough decision to make and need all evidence presented.
Yes it’s necessary ?? Every every wound inflicted was a CRIME, the pictures/testimony/ explanation from medical examiner are part of the evidence ?? These details as hard as it is to hear was endured by children and its the least we can do to listen and hear the details so the jury understands how necessary justice is. Unfortunately this jury failed miserably. (At least one did anyway)
It is necessary, for the families and for respect for the victims. Everyone should know how this asshole killed them

They had magnificent medical examiners . She seemed a little more human then the rest . But they all did their jobs
The MES are always my favorite
She's so soft and kind , she just makes u want too listen
The thing people don't realize about medical examiners is they CANT be as emotional as they want to be on the stand. They HAVE to hold that professionalism so what comes off as cold to everyone else, is really their shield to be able to do the job they do. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to. And anyone who'd say "well what about a little emotion?", I'm sure letting a little show will just open the gates. It's nothing personal. It's just so they can do their job which I commend them for because it's a mentally straining one.
That’s fine , as long they do their job . I know you can’t see wounds with tears in your eyes or do an autopsy on someone with shaky hands . So I do understand why they are so I. Control of their emotions but just everyone is different each of the medical examiner’s are different in how they present and come across and she just came across a little more soft spoken then the rest .

I am thankful for the effort of the jury as well. I cannot imagine what it must be like to see and hear what these poor victims went through. I hope that they have strong support in their lives to get through this as well.
I agree. I was somewhat sceptical about taking the jury to the crime scene. Thought that pictures would be sufficient. I can absolutely envision some getting PTSD from it or needing therapy. 😔😔
I wonder if they are barred from speaking to a psychiatrist or a therapist about it during the trial. I hope that's an exception because this would be traumatizing to go through just as a juror, and to not be able to talk to ANYONE about it for months cannot be good for a person's mental health. In fact, I would consider it cruel and a health risk.
Well unfortunately we now know 3 jurors weren’t as disgusted as the should have been . If this monster didn’t deserve the death penalty why even have it ? It’s rare to have a trial with the shooter alive . Normally they kill themselves or they are shot by police . Maybe seeing this trial and hearing these autopsies and then sentencing him to death may have been important to stop another school shooter , but that is not to be . Should have made an example out of this killer . My heart goes out to the families who have now been victimized twice smh 😢

Sentencing him to death would not have stopped another shooting. One of the jurors that voted for life is a mental health Dr. She understood perfectly. The anger is misplaced at the jury. The anger should be directed at the failures. FBI failed. Law enforcement failed. Medical professionals failed. School security failed. Fix those problems to prevent anything. Nik will pay a very high price for all of those who failed. Will probably cost him his life. Prison has their own justice system.
This is so gut wrenching. Incomprehensible. Thoughts and prayers for strength for the families & friends of the victims. 🙏♥️ ♥️♥️
*That monster mutilated Mr. Wang. Prayers to his family. I truly pray that he passed away quickly so he didn’t have to suffer all of the wounds to his body. America has a problem. When will it admit that & do something about it? These mass schools shootings do NOT happen anywhere like in this country*
Cruz will pay a high price for his actions, but this tragedy never should have happened. So many warning signs and red flags that were either ignored or passed on to someone or somewhere else. Transferred schools 6 times in a 3 year period. Many people knew there was something wrong with him. Even speculation prior to the incident that he would be the next school shooter. The FBI tip line was called on January 5 2018 and told he had an AR-15, media comments and other things that I can’t recall at this time. The tip was not forwarded to any law enforcement in Parkland. They released it on February 16, too little too late. He was pretty much yelling for help. He stopped short of walking into one of the councillors that failed him office with his gun, stating I am going to go kill a lot of people. 45 complaints to law enforcement in a 9 year period. Cruz will never get out of prison. Death sentence or life without parole. There needs to be much more accountability for what happened.
I pray for this kind of massacre never happens in my country, France. But, in my town, police had made an exercise (training) in case of this kind of tragedy would happen...
Oh my god. Hearing and watching her describe the wounds is horrifying.
Listening to what the bullets did to his head, to his brain, having the mental image of the exit, and remembering Peter was just a 15 year old child, AT SCHOOL nonetheless, it’s so cruel and horrendous that it’s hard to believe this really did happen. The jury had to have been a special kind of heartless to have pretended this did not merit the death penalty a thousand times over, I’m truly disgusted by them.
I agree, and I read it was one person who voted against the death penalty. That one person unfortunately had the power to give the killer life even after he took so many senselessly.
Peter Wang, I’m so sorry that it was necessary for this to be discussed in a court room. For these sensitive and private details had to be shared to get proper justice for you. I figured that saying 17 individuals were murdered WOULDVE been enough to put Nikolas Cruz away forever but apparently not. Apparently, all of these details have to be glorified and explained. I guess I don’t understand, why, due to this being a mass murder. At the least, because this was absolutely necessary, I wish it wasn’t public. You helped others escape. That is bravery. That is heroism, that is selflessness, that is giving your life for others. There is no braver Act of courageousness. We will remember you indefinitely ♥️💔🙏 Poor Baby ♥️ Rest in Paradise Peter 👼🏻😭♥️
Peter Wang : RIP you are gone too soon. My heart breaks for your family, I am sure you will be missed by many. Prayers to the victims and loved ones. Rest in Peace 🙏💞🙏🙏🙏🙏
Prayers for family members and survivors
12 times? My God can you imagine what that poor boy went through. All of them. Pure evil.
Peter died during those shots so more than likely he didn't feel anything for most of them
@@aliciacoble7854 He sustained a lot of these injuries as he held the door open. Yes, because of the nature of gunshot wounds to soft tissue, plus adrenaline, you typically don't feel it right away, but his bones were shattering. Obliterating. These weren't clean wounds; they reeked havoc internally before he died. I don't know in what order they were made, but he was obviously trying to shield his face by the way his arm and elbow was shattered. All we know for sure is that the last time he definitely felt pain and terror were the shots to his head. The woman giving the autopsy report said the only lethal shots were to his head. That means he was fighting to hold the door open as long as he could at Nikolas sprayed him down with bullets.
We can't explain away or trivialize this kid's pain OR heroism.
@@urban_fox4658 I dont know how he didn't get the death penalty... This is awful
@@urban_fox4658 He got hit with those 12 bullets in probably less than 5-7 seconds, considering an AR shoots as fast as you can click and the speed at which those bullets travel, it doesn’t take much to rapid fire.. He most likely died within 30 seconds or less, no way you’re going to survive long with half your head blown off.
1 bullet hit is also considered to be painful..imagine all those shots😭😭😠😠😠😠im very scared
Just look at the videos of his mother crying, she misses her boy so much and i can't imagine her pain after all of this, all the parents look broken 💔
I served on a murder trial jury one time in the 90s and the defendant sat there and "wrote" in a notebook the whole time just like this animal Nick. Obviously the lawyers instructed him to do that. What is the purpose?? To make sure they dont make eye contact with anyone? Thoughts?
Life sentence seems to kind for what he did
My heart breaks for the families.
I would rather die than spend my whole life behind bars.
Condolences to this child family as well as all others
How awful for these parents and all the victims, as well as the HEROES of that day Love and Prayers for all 🙏 🦋
I can't imagine these parent's and siblings pain, hearing a d seeing this. It is hard for me to hear. Gut-wrenching. My thoughts and prayers are with all of these families. 😔
OMG that poor boy. Rest in peace young man..
So many horrific wounds on this little body! Just heartbreaking 😢
it's so frustrating hearing them flip through the papers and folders and evidence as if it isn't open and shut. SENTENCING PLEASE!!!
This is the sentencing phase. He’s already pleaded guilty, this phase is decide if he gets death penalty or life without parole.
Rest in Peace little boy... May God gives you best place in the Heaven
The only satisfaction that I have is how his lawyers don’t even acknowledge him when he whispers or shows them a note….. my heart breaks for theses family’s, friends, teachers, jurors, all that are being effected… prayers and love for all of them
Do you take satisfaction from the defense saying nobody had to endure what they had to endure during this trial? How about when Tamara flipped off the court and laughed with the monster about it
I couldn’t just sit there , I would have dove at him along time ago , due process should be waived in cases like this . He has no reason to be sitting there
Agreed, he should be sitting in a cage like the monster he is.
5 ft. 1 inches tall, 128 pounds and 15 years old. You don't have to be a hulk to be a hero. His size and bravery makes me think of Audie Murphy. RIP Peter.
I feel like throwing up hearing what this child endured. This world is filled with evil . May God help us 😭😭😭
To have to look at these pictures again after 4 years must be traumatising what a brave woman 😔
Do. Not. Let. Peter’s. Heroism. Be. Forgotten.
Forget the shooter’s name. Remember Peter Wang for what he did that day.
No words truly can cover any of this 😭 but I’m so sorry to the families! Teenagers are still children: he and every other victim that day had their whole lives ahead of them.
Peter Wang is a hero! May God bless him and keep him close, forever. Amen.
Peter Wang acted with the valour of a man three times his age. Very difficult listening. I cannot imagine the mindset required to systematically shoot someone twelve times from head to foot. Especially an innocent child. Just can't fathom it.
I don’t know how these families sit in the same room as that monster. all the pain he’s caused is horrendous
wow truly heartbroken hearing these horrific wounds I just want to say that I commend Peter as he chose to hold a door for his class mate to help save them truly a hero and he deserves to remembered as one RIP PETER
I am so sorry for this loss the family is going through. I am so grateful for what I have and what was not taken from me. 💔
We do not realize it but some people have carried their child 9 months in their womb to have them grow up and love them to them be ripped from them and to never see their blood again.
Truly heartbreaking. God Please Heal! Peter will always be with his family.
I couldn't imagine being the parent sitting through this.... Horrific.. God give them peace and strength
Not only did he hold the door open for other students he took 12 bullets that other people didn't have to take rip peter wang may you rest peacefully in heaven for all of eternity you deserve it
God bless all these family members and friends of these victims. I can't imagine listening to the coroner talk about your loved ones fatal wounds knowing the pain they must have been in.
Rest In Peace Peter Wang 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼♥️💔
I hope jail is hell on earth for Nikolas, he deserves no mercy
