- Body camera video obtained by 2News shows an exchange between Ruby Franke’s husband, Kevin, and Springville Police just two days after her arrest.
This stems from a report Kevin made to police of a "burglary" at the Franke home and reported items being stolen.
“I explained to Kevin that the door was breeched when SVPD served a warrant on the home earlier that week looking for juveniles," a Springville Police officer wrote in the report.

(front door had already been broken down by the police, btw). And like cops said, father hadn't even been in the house for a year. Arrest your daughter…nice…for preserving evidence because her two youngest siblings were tortured, nearly to death…literally, by your wife and her buddy…I would think that might be your priority. You don’t even want them to have basic clothing and toiletries, maybe their favorite stuffed animal…can’t wait for that recording to come out! Please send this to the Family Court Judge (along with every 8passengers/Connexions video Kevin has been in) when it comes to determining custody!

@@whims6278 Tbh, I highly doubt that seeing this body cam footage will bring Shari much joy or satisfaction. Emotions in situations like this can be very complicated. The immense pain of seeing her father, whom she probably still loves, actively try to get her charged with robbery will likely override any satisfaction that she might have that he was not successful in his attempts. Stuff like this can hurt a child to the core, no matter what the age of the child. And even though they have been deeply hurt by their parent(s), they still often keep yearning for their parents' approval, acceptance and love (at least on some level) EVEN if they know from an intellectual standpoint that their parents are the ones in the wrong. IMO, the love that a child has for the parents makes it much less likely that the child would be able to celebrate much when it comes to such a very tragic and hurtful ongoing situation.

I think he will get them back, unless they find something to arrest him as well or strong evidence of abuse. Not that I think he should have them, because he’ll further mentally traumatize those kids and they need as far away from the church and people associated with it or they will never be able to heal.
If he does get them back, no doubt he will still let Ruby run the show even if she is behind bars.

Is he trying to get Shari arrested so he can gain custody of, or at least get access to, the kids? It's very telling that he wasn't given custody in the first place. I imagine both he (and Ruby) are desperate to regain control over what the kids tell about their parents. I hope that all of Kevin's 'records' are taken as part of 'discovery'. I don't know what her purpose in taking them was, but the fact that she did brought attention to their existence and that's a good thing.
She did put out a request to people in the RUclips community to find those videos that are incriminating. This probably gave her access to not only what was put online but outtakes as well. Can you imagine how bad the outtakes are?

His attorney did spin it with a statement released advising Kevin and Shari are working on their father/daughter relationship and are in touch.
The attorney also stated in an interview that Kevin had not been told who broke the lock on the front door so he didn't know the police did it (even though yellow police tape was across the door) and had believed Shari did it. The lawyer also said Kevin believed that Shari took his electronic journal that he had left in the Franke house for over a year. The attorney explained that was very personal to Kevin but the interviewer asked, then why would he leave it? That attorney gave such limp offhanded answers that they are obviously practiced.
Thinking of the amount of therapy these kids are going to need after growing up with these parents, and then the amount of trust work that is going to have to be done to make them trust that therapist. It's all so sinister and heartbreaking.

I remember my younger self watching 8passengers completely oblivious to the red flags.
