I just came to comment on that! They are children! I have never made my children clean! I had my children straighten their rooms, that's it. I would never have let them use chemicals/cleaning supplies to clean. These people are awful parents! All of them!
I’ve seen on other videos that they made these kids clean other peoples homes a lot, mostly as punishment. Often they wouldn’t feed the children unless their “chores” were done.
Ahh, yes, building fond memories of the good old days when we used to visit our good family friend Pam. I remember how fun it was scrubbing her toilet and cleaning her gutters and she would let us do her laundry and empty the cat boxes and cleaning the oven was always my favorite thing to do, I just loved the chemical fumes and how she always put so much love into our beatings.
In an emergency situation and without pay, yes. But I can understand hiring older kids of a family friend if they've chosen to start a business to make some money. Don't think that's what's happening here at all though. Was probably a punishment tool for the girls.
It also shows just how comfortable she is with that messed up arrangement. She could have said something like "I said I'd pick them up to help their mother out since she's a friend of mine" or some other statement, but she told them the truth in such a blatant manner. I mean, it's good that she did, but it speaks to how little she sees wrong with this.
"help with some cleaning" seems conveniently vague, as you can then think that maybe the kids were doing the "cleaning" as a service to instill healthy values. Or it could be that they were doing it for money, she didn't say. OR she could just be using kids, and this is one of the ways in which she uses them.
I agree. The whole of her relationship with the girls is that they are subservient to her. Not a word about any feelings and no words of concern. Pam keeps reiterating how she needed help cleaning so she took in the other 2 kids…she used ruby’s kids as a maid service and ruby allowed it. Not once did she mention taking them in because she cared or wanted to look after them, it’s only because she wanted them to do things for her. Truly sickening

Whenever I have watched someone’s kids for an emergency situation, the thought they I could use them to clean my house or do chores etc. never even crossed my mind. I don’t feel good about the dad either. He’s fighting for custody, but my question is why? Why fight for custody now, when he didn’t try to fight for custody earlier? I’m sure he knew that Ruby was an unfit mother, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he partook in the abuse.

Well we know her niece was abused by her very badly. She has spoken out and done several interviews. I think that is what really opened the door to finding out about Jodi and the whole connexions thing was because of her. I’m sure they would have found out eventually but she definitely helped. Imo anyway. If you haven’t seen Those interviews it’s reallllllly disgusting and sad what she did to her niece Jessie with her parents complete permission as well.

Because of the investigation they already knew a little bit, but Jessie coming out about what happened to her really opened the flood gates for what it really was and what they were doing. I do think without her telling her side, it’s possible that the outcome would not be what we all want (although we don’t know yet what the end result will be). I hope they do investigate every member of that cult and their children and definitely take action with getting those kids help- because I have a hard time believing that those were the only kids in this cult that were being abused. I'm upset, as well, and hope to hell the children's ad litem is equipped to handle the complexity of their situation. (DFCS is probably working overtime.) There used to be old videos posted where you could see them implement the same abusive tactics that Ruby and her sisters use in their videos. Loaning out kids for manual labor, restricting food and necessary clothing like winter coats, trying to ruin birthdays by accusing the children of lying/cheating/stealing, etc. The whole family has been rotten for generations.
How are children supposed to get experience cleaning their own house if you don’t expose them too cleaning, adult kids nowadays don’t want to work their lazy and stupid because the parents made them that way, stop doing this to children they need discipline and chores to have some kind of meaningful life when they reach adults!

It really seems like the middle girls were trafficked to do cleaning....unfortunately they probably wouldn't realize how abusive this is. It appears as though ruby was getting other people to abuse her children under the guise of "helping with the cleaning". This woman seems determined to not help the police at all and the way she watches how she gives them information seems very suspicious. She can't even articulate what Connexions actually is and her description is given so carefully it's almost as if she's been coached in what to say. That entire organization should be heavily investigated if not closed down outright.
I wouldn't be surprised if she was being purposefully vague. Many years ago she was an accessory to the torture of Jodi Hildebrandt's niece Jessi and would report to Jodi about the things Jessi would do to at least reprieve or alleviate their torment. She's already partaken in helping torture a child, so who knows what she was party to in this case.

I know "innocent until proven guilty" is a thing, but based on Jessi's interview(s) and how deep this case goes, I'm going to assume she at least knew what was going on, until proven otherwise. What really bothers me (and is likely something we'll never really know) is how much the two older kids knew. For my own sanity I like to think they were fooled into believing their little siblings were just being harmlessly separated from them for stupid "Truth and Distortion" reasons. Because otherwise a host of horrific scenarios come to mind. I can only imagine the guilt and terror one would feel knowing their siblings were being tortured but being too scared to help or feeling like there was no way to get help because you had been conditioned to see the "outside world" as hostile. Or worst of all, truly the most nightmarish situation...that they knew and maybe felt a little bad about it, but the brainwashing was so deep that they felt their younger siblings deserved it or it was for their own good. If it is that last one, the protective older brother in me can't help but feel immense disgust and anger even though I know the true fault lies with the adults. But like I said, we will probably never know, at least not until the criminal trial.

Just through pure logistics of living together they had to have at least some knowledge of what was happening to the younger ones and I was speculating on the extent and nature of that knowledge. I know the oldest daughter had been trying to get authorities involved for some time now, it just adds to the tragedy.

@@rakesfunnyfarm When I took life skills in middle school we learned basic sewing, cooking, how to write a check, how to write on an envelope, and at the end of class we always cleaned up after ourselves. There is no reason why children should be cleaning an adult’s house by like this.
@@mimimonster knowing how to properly clean is a life skill. My parents never showed me how to adequately clean, cook, do dishes, or laundry, and I had to learn it myself while in college. I remember watching RUclips videos about how to fold clothes. I also ruined tons of my clothes assuming that putting them in the dryer on the highest heat was the right thing to do.
There is chores and there is child labour. My children had chores if they done the chores they earned their pocket money. Their chores, keep you room clean (not OCD tidy just dirty clothes in the laundry, books and toys packed away etc) but NEVER chores of house cleaning. Seriously lady, you think that’s acceptable to agree to look after children so that they can help you clean your house?? 🤨
I had chores that means cooking and cleaning. My kids had some chores and I had all boys. The schools took out life skills. Which that was a big mistake. by the way I didn't get paid.

As a parent, even this small piece of the case is mind-boggling to me. My kids are busy learning, playing with friends, spending time with family... and yes doing a few basic chores at home (ie keep room clean, doing dishes, feeding cats). I believe Jessi did talk to police and the authorities to raise abuse concerns and to report abuse officially long prior to august 2023 when this situation blew up, as did one of the older Franke daughters who had moved out and was estranged but was trying to involve the authorities to protect her younger siblings. OUR WHOLE SYSTEM NEEDS CLOSE EXAMINATION AS THERE IS BOTH AMPLE ROOM AND ABSOLUTE NEED FOR REFORM. CHILDREN ARE NOT LISTENED TO WHEN IT CONTRAVENES THE NARRATIVE PROVIDED BY THE ADULTS- EVEN WHEN THE CHILDREN ARE TELLING THE TRUTH and ARE IN REAL DANGER, SUFFERING ACTUAL ABUSE- things that can radically impact the life or sometimes take their lives. We need to have all hands on deck, looking at ways we can improve this system and make it better. And it can’t just be to overcorrect and swing the pendulum back too far on the other direction with heavy handed but foolishly overbearing laws and restrictions. These matters are too important. Child abuse is a hidden epidemic and it is tragic. It does hidden damage that manifests in countless ways later on- disease, addiction, criminality, self harm, and perpetuating further cycles of abuse. Not to mention the suffering of the abused. Not to mention the contributions to the world that the abused could have made if only pieces of their lives not stolen from them.

I am so sorry for your story. I had a very similar story to yours and it takes a lot to come out of that situation. I didn’t stand up for myself until I was in my mid 20s.
No it's just that CPS/DCFS is useless. It's a useless gov't organization and does absolutely nothing. I've arrested, drug addicts incapable of providing for their kids, I've arrested and witness fathers and mothers (cause it does happen quite often honestly) abuse their husbands, wifes, and in some cases their kids and CPS didn't remove those kids. Next time I was at the address that kid was there. I've watched the courts release kids or give kids to the worst parent. I've seen parents who handle themselves well, have a career, a stable home and they're denied to have thier kids. CPS is fucking useless. It's not that they let the kids slip, it's they just don't care. The organization is a sham
It is because that Jodi Hildebrandt was so far up the LDS bishop's butt she could see out his mouth. Hildebrandt had powerful friends in the LDS church who thought her form of child therapy was great. The way the local authorities acted was insane. 911 got a call the children were home alone for days. The cops could see the children in the windows but when they got no response, they just said, "oh well" and left. That wouldn't have happened anywhere else on earth except Utah and it only happened there because Hildebrandt was so powerful with the bishop friend. She was on the LDS payroll too. They paid her to give "therapy" to vulnerable families. If you tried to quit she would ruin your life.

How was her first question not "what about the other two children? Do you not need me to watch them also?" It appears as though ruby was getting other people to abuse her children under the guise of "helping with the cleaning". This woman seems determined to not help the police at all and the way she watches how she gives them information seems very suspicious. She can't even articulate what Connexions actually is and her description is given so carefully it's almost as if she's been coached in what to say. That entire organization should be heavily investigated if not closed down outright.
I wouldn't be surprised if she was being purposefully vague. What really bothers me (and is likely something we'll never really know) is how much the two older kids knew. For my own sanity I like to think they were fooled into believing their little siblings were just being harmlessly separated from them for stupid "Truth and Distortion" reasons.
Because otherwise a host of horrific scenarios come to mind. I can only imagine the guilt and terror one would feel knowing their siblings were being tortured but being too scared to help or feeling like there was no way to get help because you had been conditioned to see the "outside world" as hostile.
Or worst of all, truly the most nightmarish situation...that they knew and maybe felt a little bad about it, but the brainwashing was so deep that they felt their younger siblings deserved it or it was for their own good.

That wouldn't have happened anywhere else on earth except Utah and it only happened there because Hildebrandt was so powerful with the bishop friend. She was on the LDS payroll too. apparently they initially did not want to go with the older sister. who knows how brainwashed they are about her... or what punishments they were trying to avoid that may come afterwards... but as far as I know, they are under older sister's care now. which is the best case scenario at the moment if you ask me.
