- Investigators' interview with the husband of family vlogging fame, Kevin Franke, shows how little the husband claimed to know about the well being of his own children after separating from his wife for more than a year.
Kevin, the husband of Ruby Franke, was interviewed for about 45 minutes by investigators with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on August 30, 2023, the day his wife was arrested for child abuse. He told investigators he was asked by his wife to move out of their house and not contact any of their children in July 2022. Kevin told investigators this was due to his own, "addictions" and help he needed with "pornography."

The eating chair was what she could come up with. All of his children have come out and said no abuse had happened until he left and the other lady moved in. They said the other lady acted possessed and really weird. Kevin doesn’t deserve 60 years in prison. He cheated on his wife, she made him move out, she manipulated him, and she deceived him. In this moment, he thought they were lying because he had never seen his wife act out like they were describing.
The older brother, was beating his little brother up so they made him sleep somewhere else, they looked in there phones and monitored them (something that more parents should do as 85% of school shooters communicate about it over the phone.), and they would send them to school with snacks rather than letting them choose their lunch. This is all just strict parenting, nothing physical, nothing to truly put them in harms way.
Kevin by no means deserves 60 years.

You seem to have blinders on in regards to little kevin's action / inaction pre-jodiot, back when his wife and he were jointly "disciplining" their children. There's absolutely NO excuse for leaving those children in a house with a "possessed" woman who was heading towards becoming the devil's wife, smh. He never once spoke to his "beloved" children in over 13 months while living in the aforementioned house either. kevin wanted to have his eldest daughter arrested for theft and to have her charged to the maximum possible even though she had been the only one trying to protect those kids and all the most important materials that were unsafe in a house which no longer had a functional main door / main entrance door. He and Ruby were actually blaming her/Sarah for all of their problems as well. He's absolutely no better than ruby, and he's barely a step above jodiot, smh.

His wife said at her sentencing ( angrily) that she was never a business partner with Jodi... Jodi insisted that their relationship was at first was when she provided therapy. And later became business partners.

I'm not making excuses for him, but I've known wives of close friends who were absolute monsters. Even with proof, they were the courts sided with the wives. Now, with that out of the way, I know this cat knows what is going on. He also is a a cold fish when talking about the children. So guys believe in providing financial support, and that's it. Definitely his part, as he believes. I also had a father who could care less about our well-being. Many of us have or had a parent who was wired that way.
There is something wrong with all these people. He has not seen any of his children in over a year, even the two that have moved out. Doesn’t have the angst to see them, talk to them...nothing. “It was the space I needed.” He totally and willingly checked out of his children. Argh! Those kids have no parents.

Kevin is NOT innocent of the charges. He’s so pathetic he doesn’t even inquire about his children’s welfare for over a year.
He continuously asked the same question back to the officers. Never once did he ask about how his Young children were doing. These kids are going to have to move to another part of the country they’re going to be scarred forever.
And notice that when they asked him when he and his wife were together how HE disciplined the kids-he declined to comment. That may not be an indirect admission of guilt, but it throws sus on him for sure.

All else aside that's actually a tough one. I know some families where the parents are split up and the parent with custody demonizes the other parent to the point where there is no chance of contact regardless. Actually pretty sad stuff under more "normal" circumstances.

@@meganr9280 I think the cops were actually waiting for him to say something to that effect, so when he mentioned it, I think they were both very observant in watching his reaction but he didn't get one. And in their jail calls, they talk about what they really care about which is the publicity not the kids

Kevin was kicked out of his house and kept from seeing his children but still expected to support the family and the household financially. Hopefully, Ruby and Jodi will stay in prison the full 30 years.
It’s evident the majority of the people commenting on here have no knowledge of the case and only followed the highlights. Jodi, the “therapist”, preyed on the entire Franke family. Ruby, being the weakest minded, was most susceptible to those therapy suggestions from Jodi. Kevin thought he was “doing the work” in order to regain his place as husband and father. She claimed evil spirits were coming for her, moved in with the family and used some bizarre tactics that played their religious beliefs against them. That part of the story needs more explanation but that woman is more than a charlatan, she’s a predator. I think pathological misandry and narcissism play a role in her psychopathy.

Yeah, but when the police served a search warrant on the Springville home that his wife and remaining children were living in, apparently Shari wasn’t allowed in that house and he thought Shari had kicked in the door and he was trying to get the police to arrest her. When they said no, they weren’t arresting her because they kicked in the door and Shari took some things out of the home that she didn’t know she wasn’t allowed to take, but she returned them to the police as soon as they asked for them, Kevin threatened to sue the police department for not arresting Shari!!

If people want to understand Kevin's side of the story - and why he kept away from the kids they should watch - the Mormon Stories Channel. Ironically it is a channel that interviews ex-Mormons about abuses they received in that religion. Anyway there are numerous interviews about the Franke case. And one ongoing theme was Jodi Hildebrandt's long history of abuse of her patients - particularly children and men. She was sponsored by the Mormon church as a supposed family therapist. And in treatment would manipulate the wives to turn against their husbands accusing them of various sexual offenses - playing up watching occasional pornography or even masturbation w/out pornography as potentially threatening to the children. One husband even lost custody of his own children - due to fabrications. She destroyed many families over the years. So in this scenario, it is very likely that Kevin was worried about divorce and losing custody of his children. And the thing is - the wives never gave a timeline as to WHEN they could come back, if at all. It sounds like Kevin bought into the idea that he was not a healthy influence around the kids. And maybe he did need to do some work on himself to be a better parent. But at least while he was living with them, he wasn't torturing them.
Unfortunately Mormons are trained to be too trusting of authority. And Jodi Hildebrandt took full advantage of that. I do believe that Ruby Franke was unhinged already but

The husband was clearly very brainwashed and naive to the situation with his wife and Jodi. I think Ruby and Jodi probably were in a romantic relationship. Jodi was the cancer that destroyed this entire family with her controlling and manipulating ways of communicating convincing the dad that he must leave his wife and family with no contact , no say, no presence of participating in his kids and wife’s life. Jodi is a master manipulator and narcissist that preyed on this family and enjoys destroying families and abusing children with her practice. This is one evil thing. I think she relished on destroying marriages by removing the husband and father of the family and then punishing and hurting children. She used Ruby who was a wealthy internet influencer and tried to get her to be profitable for her connections program. A very evil woman. Any woman who could torture children like that and convince a parent to join her to abuse her own child is pure evil. He doesn’t even cry or ask if his children are okay. He doesn’t shed a tear learning his children were starved and physically restrained with duct tape and ropes. That’s concerning. On Mormon stories podcast, this was discussed. JH had a history of having couples separate, and insisting the wives keep the kids away from the husband. She made people, especially men, believe they had addiction they didn't have. It sounds awful to us. In his defense, he was trying to save his marriage by abiding by what Ruby was saying. He kept distant because Ruby was insisting....due to the teaching/ counsel of JH.

Jodi had a well documented history of using religious manipulation to separate the wives and husbands and then getting the wives to create a list of criteria that the husbands must meet to get access to their children. The husbands were made to feel desperate to obey so they didn’t lose their marriages and their children. What Kevin describes is 100% the method Jodi has used for decades.

They could watch a movie with an adult fun time scene and that mean they have that addiction according to her. I don’t even have actual kids - I have a dog and a cat. Yet I care WAY more about my pets than this man seems to care about his children. First of all, I can’t even go on a week long vacation without checking on them to make sure they’re ok, also asking for pictures/videos because I miss them so much. Let alone a whole year. Second of all, if my pets were in someone else’s care and I was told they were found emaciated/malnourished and wounded, the first words out of my mouth would be, “Where are they? Are they ok? Are they safe? I need to see them RIGHT NOW.” I’d be in a full on panic. I wouldn’t be asking if the pet sitter (who is usually my best friend) was ok and saying how much I love him at that moment. I’d be way more concerned about my babies first and foremost, but secondly, I’d be LIVID at the person who abused them no matter what my relationship to him/her is.
