I have the same car, 2018 Accord sport. Once you put a sub in the trunk, you will know the difference. I simply went with 1 jl audio 10w3 and an alpine single channel 500 watt amp. I turned the lows off my factory speakers and raised the treble and the sound stage is awesome!
I run my factory EQ (2018 Accord Touring) at these settings for a modest improvement in sound with factory speakers: Treble 35% Mid-range 25% Bass 100% Subwoofer 100% Made a huge improvement in the stock system sound. To get more would require hardware changes and in line equilibration.
There os a PSI sound setting which can be turned off and it gave me significant sound improvement in my Touring 2019. ruclips.net/video/G6o0zHZt6KM/видео.html But there is still a need for good base with 450 W factory amp 10 channel , I think replacing speakers would give a better mid base.
@@saurabhdsawant im in the process of replacing my interior speakers, left, right fronts, left, right rears, and front center, and rear deck subwoofer. but last year i just brought a cheap 10" sub and it hits pretty good, but the dsp does lower bass some a higher volume levels gotta get a line out converter to fix that.
I think that Honda has gone cheaper in this generation Accord on both the amp and the speakers. On the 9th Gen, the speakers have much beefier magnets and amp has more punch. I upgraded the stock speakers in my daughter Honda Accord Sport with the Rockford Fosgate R1675x2 and R165x3 as well as adding a pair of Alpine 1" tweeters in the A pillar panel trim. The audio system now sounds a lot better with decent bass but the treble and vocal came through way better than the stock and the sound stage is terrific. I'd do a few things different to this 10th Gen Accord though if I was to upgrade it. I'd use the R1675x2 in the front and use the R1-TS tweeters to replace the stock tweeters. However, I would NOT hot glue the new tweeter to the OEM trim, just use some Gorilla or 3M tape to hold them in place, they are not going anywhere in that little pocket. More importantly, I would NOT cut into the OEM audio connector, you are risking warranty of your car. You can buy a couple of adapter cables from eBay to connect them to the new tweeters instead (I know, it is sucked that Crutchfield don't have them). Or do what I did, leave the tweeter connectors alone and tapped into the R1675x2 second set of speaker connectors and send the audio up the tweeters. This way, you don't risk any warranty with Honda and if you sell the car, you can put the old speakers back and keep your upgrade speakers for the new car. Last but not least, I'd use the R165x3 in the back where you could add better treble than the 2 way speakers. As for bass, there is nothing you can do with the OEM amp unless you replace the entire head unit. A better way is to add an 8" compact powered sub from JBL, Blaupunkt or Bazooka bass tube behind the rear seat and you should have plenty of bass. There is no need for stage 3 as far as I am concerned in such a small car unless you are doing a competition system.
Of course you need decent amps for the system to work properly... :) Amps are often the most important component. Not only do you need enough power to drive the speakers (180W is a joke), dedicated amps also provide a much more "pure" signal. You should definitely consider a 4-channel amp for the front system (one channel per speaker) and a separate mono amp for the woofer. You should also consider using High/Low pass filters to fine tune the signals going into the speakers in the front.
Hi thx for this informative post. A couple of thoughts. The original Honda Accord door tweeters had an orange capacitor, visible in your your tube video, to limit the frequency to the tweeter which is from a shared line going to the door woofer. Not replacing that cap in the new tweeter could eventually burn out that tweeter because it is receiving the same full-range info which is going to the door speaker. I am a bit surprised it is working as well as you explained in your video. I bought an fairly expensive set of door speakers with separate tweeters from Crutchfield which included their own crossover. The Crutchfield tech rep highly recommended using these external crossovers, because of that capacitor on the original tweeter. Secondly, the Crutchfield tech rep also recommended putting foam speaker backers on the door woofers but also said I should cut the back to not restrict airflow too much. The helps direct the sound into the car and not into the interior door panel. Thirdly, they also recommended Hushmat Wave Breaker Kit be placed on the interior metal door, directly behind the door speaker to eliminate reflection on the back of the door speakers from the metal. It is a sound-deadening pads for speaker back waves. These may have made a difference in your install. Lastly, you should have used foam strips on the back of the speaker to insulate it a bit from the plastic mounting ring. I'll be installing mine next week. Also bought a higher-end replacement 3 1/2" midrange speaker for the dash speaker behind the display. In my opinion, this is the "problem" speaker which make the whole system sound hollow and the midrange is irritating. However, interested if you have installed another amp and sub, etc.
Here's to hoping the 2nd & 3rd stage get you the improvements you're looking for. By the way, I'm in Montgomery County. So if you see a silver 2018 Accord Sport with tinted windows around don't forget to say hi.
You need better quality speakers up front. I've used JL C5 using the OEM hu in a 07 Accord and it sounded excellent. Note, the install is key, I would highly recommend a complete sound deaden door. Use foam between speaker and bracket and door.
You DO NOT have to cut the tweeter harness. Just run a new wire from the mid woofer to the tweeter. On this set, there's two positive and two negative connections.

I've done an upgrade and I just want to say that you will need to remove the ANC from behind the glove box to comlete the upgrade or you will have feedback whenever you accelerate. The car has crap plastic that's not installed with noise insulation so you will need to look into padding to reduce rattle once the sub is installed or you will not like how much rattle comes when the bass hits. If you want a diagram let me know and I'll post it for you.
I am having a sub installed in my 2018 accord this weekend. The noise cancellation mic just needs to be disconnected behind the glove box? What did you use for noise insulation? Dynamat on the doors? Post that diagram. Thanks!
There is no anc mic behind the glove box just thee anc unit that needs to be unplugged but it's so difficult to reach the plug that it has to be unscrewed and why put it back after all that. I had the insulation installed professional by a customization shop and it only needed to be done to the back deck
I'm kind of new to this. anyone know how to post pictures of the diagram? I paid $10 and printed and/or screen shot everything I would ever need to know from this site- techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/logon.aspx
GarageProjects crazy right but glad your finally rockin. I found that even though I always told friends I was too old for sounds, when I got this car it was a must have. My wife has a 2018 Civic top of the line and the sounds are still crap and I had a 2018 CRV yesterday (loaner from dealer) and I found the sounds to be the same. Don't be shocked that after a month you will upgrade to a better amp and subs because you can always turn it down if u buy too much but if it's not enough it's just not enough.
I've given you gladly the Like for your honest opinion. Of course there would be an improvement regarding the highs (obviously due to better tweeters), a little bit better mid-range and no improvement in the lower section of the spectrum. And why? Simply because all after market-speakers (components/coaxials etc.) are thought out for setup with a) proper amplification, b) proper frequency filters (HPF etc.) and c) subwoofer to take over the base. It is a TOTAL misconception that after-market speakers will transform just like that SPL and/or sound quality of a system. Nice video though! So, keep up!
Hey what's up. Good vid and awesome Accord. I have 18' Sport as well(Still Night Blue). And I'm looking to do a stereo upgrade too. I hate the sound of the stock speakers. I was thinking of just upgrading the speakers and adding a powered subwoofer that will slide under my passenger seat.
Congrats on the car as well! I love the Night Blue. I highly recommend upgrading the speakers and installing a small powered subwoofer. My next video shows my new powered sub. Simple/clean install
sounds like my Civic ordeal (2008) changed the speakers, no real change, the Alpine amp and sub brought it all to life!! no it wouldn't shake the house but it did sound far better!!
I’d just go with a sub modified to fit the trunk to look factory. Only thing lacking to me is the lows. I don’t need huge bass like my younger years. Maybe a 8-10” sub should do the trick.
Did u put a amp for the speakers? What did u use to use the amplifier? Hi to low? I have a 2019 honda accord. I wanna put a system. I wanna put 2 15s . And 2 amplifiers. What should I get to output the amps.
You should do a video guiding how to change the rear speakers!! Like what way to pull the panels to not break the clips and all of that. I am ready to install my rear speakers I am just nervous that I will break a clip or something. Please and thanks!!
I have an amp for my subwoofer and the Noise cancelling needed to be be removed by opeing the dashboard. its super easy to remove ANC but its up to you if you rather have noise cancelling or an AMP
Did you use the crossovers that came with your component speaker kit or were you just using the same wiring that the old speakers were plugged into? I have the same setup in my '16 HRV with stock front 2 ways and I'm mad nervous my JBLs wont work right.
Just did my fronts, rears, and a sub a few weeks ago. Fronts are about as easy as it gets, but the rears are truly a pain in the ass. There is so much plastic that you have to remove to get access.
I was hoping the new speakers would work as I'm looking to do the same for my 18 touring. I think for and unamplified setup you should look at impedance. Some Infinity Primus or JBL GTOs might have worked better as the have a higher sensitivity and a lower impedance giving more power to speaker output...good luck on your project!
hi, im new at this and have nevere installed a component system in a car but i recently purchased and installed new tweeters in my honda civic and im having a hard time figuring out how you wired it to your crossover and then to an external amplifier? any links or diagrams that can help??? i would appreciate any help!!! Thanks!!!!
Hi I did change the front speakers with Focal 165AS2 Noticeable change but an amp is needed, the center speaker is creating lot of distortion and some how a metallic and quite disturbing, this week I am replacing the center speaker and will see if I still need an amp.
you changed the front door lower speakers? if you did, did it add any low at all? I'm looking at upgrading my doors and my rear deck to rockford fosgates, but i'm worried it wont add enough and i'll need and amp for any improvement
Hi John, just a quick question. I am about to get the JBL GX628 for my front doors, and these speakers were built in tweeters also. If i install them, will my stock tweeters still be working?
I traded in a 2015 Kia Optima for a 2018 Honda Accord 2.0 Turbo sport the car is amazing but my Kia Optima had a better sound system it was an Infiniti sound system..
Hello! I just recently traded in my 2016 Accord for the 2018 Accord. I had a customer built fiberglass box that was built into the spare wheel well hidden away 12” Type R Alpine along with amps and interior Alpine speakers upgrade. Sad to say I’ve been without my music for about a month now and I’m going CRAZY. I’m tired of waiting on my boyfriend to get started on this project, what size door speakers did you use? Did you have to buy the kit separately? What size speakers will I need for the rear? I didn’t get to keep the interior speakers from the 2016 Accord because the original hole sizes were modified to accommodate larger speakers. Any information will help, thanks.
I just installed subwoofers with an Amp in my trunk, however once the job was complete, my dashboard lit up with all of the warning signs about the brake system, collision and etc. I can't get rid of them. Has anyone else ran into this problem and know how to possibly resolve it? I'm trying to save myself a trip to the dealer
Can you explain how you mounted the tweeters? Did you take them out of the case/grill or did you mount them with the grills attached? Also, pretty sure you didn’t need to cut the OEM harness for the tweeter. There’s two positives and negative connections on the woofer so you can branch off of it from there.
Hi there, At 4:30, when you put in the adapter / mounting bracket - can you tell me where did you get that adapter? Or can anyone else let me know? Thank you so much for the video.
i think it's due the stereo head unit and not the speakers themselves. you will need an amplifier to get the most out of aftermarket speakers. the head unit EQ'd to be a little bass heavy; so aftermarket speakers will have a noticeable gain in treble. I've bought the same rockfords too, and i returned it all because i didn't want to drop money on an amp.
I have 2019 accord and just installed new component speakers on the rear deck. After installation I realized there has been a loss in volume from the rear deck speakers, any advise?
bryan flores yeah, Bose has never really been known for having deep bass. However some of their systems have good clarity in the mid-high range. The only product Bose makes that really impresses me is their quiet comfort headphones. Their car audio is just average
Nice video. I'm surprised by the size of the magnets attached to those new speakers. That system should definitely sound much better. You definitely need a amp, and maybe a sub box in trunk.✌💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
What do you want to know about doing the rear deck speakers? I just did mine on a 2019 accord sport and there is really no way to get a video unless someone was to video a piece here and there then edit. That would turn a 2 hour job into 2 days Any questions just ask. I have install instructions from a reputable car audio retailer. They include how to remove receiver, front door speakers, rear deck speakers and even includes wire color codes. Good stuff and very useful.
YOU INSTALLED YOUR FRONT SPEAKERS WRONG. Read the install manual. You are supposed to plug the tweeters into the extra speaker tabs on the mids. The mids have the crossover for the tweeter. Since you spliced the factory wires, you bypassed the crossover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you do a small video on the little spot lights up by the map light. I have no idea what its for . It don't do anything unless you put your fingers by the light.
Its almost a waste. I can only see light if my fingers are right under. I do how ever want to connect the inside roof light with the two map lights up from so they all go on and off at the same time. It looks really easy . There is a video on it on you tube.@@giojo01
@@jamesnusky6257 lol. Yeah it doesent do much. I think if it was brighter, it would be a little distracting though. I havent seen that video. But my map lights are super bright because I replaced them with LEDS that have 9 leds in each light. So a total of 18 leds and its superrrrrr bright. Almost too bright. These right here light up the entire cabin. www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/wedge-bulbs/921-led-bulb-9-smd-led-disc-miniature-wedge-retrofit-car/2833/

Bro its cause you need an amp for the speakers haha those are rockford fosgate speakers brother. They dont use that wack ass 400w factory amp. They need a rockford amp get the t-600 👌🏻
If you put new speakers in without an amp they are still running off the stock head unit power. Meaning you really wont get much of a difference at all. The stock head unit is only meant to power the stock speakers. So when you put better speakers in there with the same power you are depriving them of the power they need. You wont get really any better sound without an amp.
6.5 inch front and rear. Use a good 2 way with a minimum 91db sensitivity and a good component in front with 91 to 93db sensitivity.. disconnect your ANC module then hear the difference..
Hey I am just wondering what octane gas do you put in your Honda Accord? Also where do you purchase your gas from. I have a 2018 Honda Accord LX 1.5T and I am averaging 23-26 mpg on 87 octane which isn't even close to the advertised 30 city/38 Highway. Any suggestions on improving MPG?
I use 87 octane gas in the Maryland area. My terrain is relatively flat. If you live in a mountainous region, that will definitely affect your mpg. Driving habits and tire pressure also have a big influence on mpg.
Drive more on the highways, learn to coast when you know the light is red instead of keeping foot on gas then braking when close. Spend less time idling as u will get 0mpg
Dude, you skipped the wiring of the door speaker. You don't just put the speaker in the door without hooking it up. Why was there 4 wires in the speaker harness? There's usually only two.
Pat Powers maybe with the Sport but not so with the EX or the Touring. The sound is MUCH improved with a 2 ohm kicker replacement sub and Infinity Reference REF-6530cx.
These speakers kinda suck. I put 2 pairs in my blazer. Zero bass. Zero midbass. Highs cracked and distorted at high volume off kenwood head unit. I replaced them with mtx terminators that cost $26 a pair and they sound a lot better.
Let me start by saying I know nothing about speakers. With that said, why did you chose 2 way speakers for the rear instead of component like the ones up front?
JJ Gloster I went with 2-way in the rear because 1. I don’t sit back there, so I could save money with cheaper speakers, and 2. The highs are just going to bounce off the glass anyway, so I don’t know that there would be enough benefit to justify the extra cost.
I have the same car, 2018 Accord sport. Once you put a sub in the trunk, you will know the difference. I simply went with 1 jl audio 10w3 and an alpine single channel 500 watt amp. I turned the lows off my factory speakers and raised the treble and the sound stage is awesome!

Subwoofer 100%
Made a huge improvement in the stock system sound.
To get more would require hardware changes and in line equilibration.
There os a PSI sound setting which can be turned off and it gave me significant sound improvement in my Touring 2019. ruclips.net/video/G6o0zHZt6KM/видео.html

I am about to get the JBL GX628 for my front doors, and these speakers were built in tweeters also. If i install them, will my stock tweeters still be working?
Did you install the crossovers for the components?
Miss your uploads. Hope you have some more soon!
I traded in a 2015 Kia Optima for a 2018 Honda Accord 2.0 Turbo sport the car is amazing but my Kia Optima had a better sound system it was an Infiniti sound system..
just ordered 6.5 infinty speakers on amazon for my 18 accord... really good price. Cant wait to see results..
Joshua dagaur how does it sojnd
Alpine type r speakers and a amp will make day and night different even without the subwoofer.
Hello??? Lol
Hi there, At 4:30, when you put in the adapter / mounting bracket - can you tell me where did you get that adapter? Or can anyone else let me know? Thank you so much for the video.
Hey bro so you connected new wire to the tweeter right? What color where the tweeter wires?
Do you use the same adapter from the old speaker or you use a different one?? If you use the same one how you take off the old speaker
i think it's due the stereo head unit and not the speakers themselves. you will need an amplifier to get the most out of aftermarket speakers. the head unit EQ'd to be a little bass heavy; so aftermarket speakers will have a noticeable gain in treble. I've bought the same rockfords too, and i returned it all because i didn't want to drop money on an amp.
What size are the front and rear speakers 6.5? And what size is the center speaker behind the radio
What size are those speakers I want to put new ones on my 2018 accord sport but i confuse about the size
I think the stereo that came with this car is awesome. Enough for me anyway. I give you credit. I would never atempt doing what your doing....
I hope in the final get the great result...
What about the 18 Camry? I have an SE with the base sound system and it sucks
You didn’t show the mods that u did it for the tweeter and how connected the wire harness
I have 2019 accord and just installed new component speakers on the rear deck. After installation I realized there has been a loss in volume from the rear deck speakers, any advise?
New amp
Loss in volume is because the speakers you’ve chosen has more ohms and requires more power
I think the sound it comes with is great. I was very surprised.
Where did u get that spacer brackets for those speakers ?
are the speakers that bad??..I am coming from bose speakers in an infiniti
rodword ITS THAT BAD! I LOVE my Honda Accord 18 HATE the sound
Speakers were pretty bad. I'm slowly fixing that issue :)
I had a Q50 with bose before my 18 Accord and these speakers are terrible.
bryan flores yeah, Bose has never really been known for having deep bass. However some of their systems have good clarity in the mid-high range. The only product Bose makes that really impresses me is their quiet comfort headphones. Their car audio is just average
Bose speakers on a infinity are way better than this
Yep, good report. Since everything is relying on the stock HU, sound quality will be negligable.
Can u connect amp to the speakers make them sound better?
I have 2 sets of morel componets. Will a 1" tweeter fit in a 2019 2.0t??
Wow those garbage factory speakers look exactly like the speakers that were in my 2009 Accord EX-L V6.......
Do need a special hardness to install the door speakers?
Hey buddy, were you able to get an amp for the speakers inside?
Do you have an exact link to where you bought them?
Nice video. I'm surprised by the size of the magnets attached to those new speakers. That system should definitely sound much better. You definitely need a amp, and maybe a sub box in trunk.✌💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
What size are the door speakers?
Mind if ask where did u got those spacers for those speakers ?
Crutchfield I believe he said that’s where he got the speakers from. They are great if u need vehicle specific kits
Where did you get the speaker spacer
what is the size of all the speakers on the honda accord sport
Did you ever decide to post the rear installation video?
What do you want to know about doing the rear deck speakers? I just did mine on a 2019 accord sport and there is really no way to get a video unless someone was to video a piece here and there then edit. That would turn a 2 hour job into 2 days
Any questions just ask. I have install instructions from a reputable car audio retailer. They include how to remove receiver, front door speakers, rear deck speakers and even includes wire color codes.
Good stuff and very useful.
how did you remove the tweeter? can you post a video on that? with out breaking the tweeter lol...
Same question
Any update ? You add a amp for the speakers?
was that sound deading material on the door when you had the panel off?
Just factory material. I didn't add anything in addition to what came form the factory.
Where can I get this speaker ?
Does anyone know what color the remote turn on wire is for this 2018 accord?
YOU INSTALLED YOUR FRONT SPEAKERS WRONG. Read the install manual. You are supposed to plug the tweeters into the extra speaker tabs on the mids. The mids have the crossover for the tweeter. Since you spliced the factory wires, you bypassed the crossover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you do a small video on the little spot lights up by the map light. I have no idea what its for . It don't do anything unless you put your fingers by the light.
That little light is just an ambient light to light up your gear selector and center console
I replaced all the insides with LED myself. But to me the overhead even with the LED is not enough. at least for me. So I will be connecting them together soon as it gets a little warmer out.@@giojo01
@@giojo01 You are right. Them map lights are blinding. I wish the overhead was that bright
Bro its cause you need an amp for the speakers haha those are rockford fosgate speakers brother. They dont use that wack ass 400w factory amp. They need a rockford amp get the t-600 👌🏻
Great video... Please rear deck too
He needs 3 ohm speakers not 4 ohm speakers to notice a difference . Because the oem speakers is 3.7 ohms
Where could i get these mounts for new honda 2018?? Please and thank you #Urgent
Ebay
If you put new speakers in without an amp they are still running off the stock head unit power. Meaning you really wont get much of a difference at all. The stock head unit is only meant to power the stock speakers. So when you put better speakers in there with the same power you are depriving them of the power they need. You wont get really any better sound without an amp.
You need a Line output converter and amp with a sub and you need sound dampening as well !
I am gonna be doing mine soon too i can’t stand this system i had a 2017 Jeep Wrangler with the alpine system and it was awesome.
Can anyone tell me speaker sizes on the 2018 accord looking to do a full install. Also my car rear deck also has tweeters
Kygre R 6.5”. Go with the Infinity Reference REF-6530cx. At least for the front speakers. You won’t regret it.
Try alpine KTP-445U or higher model with more power to feed those speakers .
Wonder if you just put a new amp in that it would sound good enough
Love it😍 link or name of all the speakers and subwoofer?
How big are the accords speakers? Im ordering aftermarket speakers. They already busted when i put an amp in 🤣
6.5 inch front and rear.
Louay Malaeb drive slower
Steven Franklin I’m not exactly an aggressive driver
I use 87 octane gas in the Maryland area. My terrain is relatively flat. If you live in a mountainous region, that will definitely affect your mpg. Driving habits and tire pressure also have a big influence on mpg.
Drive more on the highways, learn to coast when you know the light is red instead of keeping foot on gas then braking when close. Spend less time idling as u will get 0mpg
I am averaging 23 in my 2.0 using 89 octane
Where do I buy those speakers?
Dude, you skipped the wiring of the door speaker. You don't just put the speaker in the door without hooking it up. Why was there 4 wires in the speaker harness? There's usually only two.
WIRE DIAGRAM?? AND HOW YOU REMOVED THE DRIVER PANEL?
no wire diagram????
Can you put a link to the speakers and everything you purchased.
The links are in my previous video.

Should have got kicker for everything! Kicker amps speakers and subs!
😂😂😂kicker is shit. Sundown or skar
You'll need a dsp to really make a difference.
Where u located? Can u do my honda?
Let me start by saying I know nothing about speakers. With that said, why did you chose 2 way speakers for the rear instead of component like the ones up front?
JJ Gloster I went with 2-way in the rear because 1. I don’t sit back there, so I could save money with cheaper speakers, and 2. The highs are just going to bounce off the glass anyway, so I don’t know that there would be enough benefit to justify the extra cost.
Please do a video on the rear!
Panasonic 👍🏽
