    The engineering that goes into these high tech audio systems to make them sound like crap is utterly amazing.

      Matt L. You are SO right.I have a Chrysler 300 with the Beats system.It has one " subwoofer" in the center rear deck and one subwoofer in an enclosure in the trunk.Im still waiting to hear the bass.If it was up to me I would buy a car with NO audio, no radio, no speakers, no amp.I never keep my factory components anyway.

    FYI to everyone wanting to integrate a DSP and aftermarket amps into one of the premium audio system Honda vehicles: Metra Axxess now has an amp bypass solution called the AXDSPX-HN3. I actually bought this item from Five Star Car Stereo and will be integrating such into my 2020 Honda Insight. A video will be posted on my other channel when complete.

      you don't think it will mess up the insight's electronics if you add any aftermarket amps/processors etc? where will you get your power, straight from the battery?

    • @MSWeaponsChannel
      @MSWeaponsChannel 4 года назад

      Seinfeld Costanza it won’t mess with it any more then with any other vehicle. You connect your amps to the 12 volt battery just as you would any other vehicle.

      @@jamesyu4182 I don’t know and I no longer have this unit installed. Unfortunately it caused a lot of echo issues with the hands free calling and could not be remedied. It is my advice to avoid attempting such in any of the Honda vehicles with digital amps.

    the fact that these manufacturers who are bragging how their new line of cars are factory equipped with such and so. where in reality they simply offer a lot of crap.
    i was totally amazed how you are dealing with such problems and delivering such remarkable results, not to mention how meticulous you are paying attention with the details.
    i'm guessing that nobody here in my county can do what you can, and so having your kind of such equipment. and your keen knowledge on top of it all. respect.

    Think of how many shops actually go through this process to install an awesome system. A low percentage would be my guess. With vehicles getting more and more complex in their audio manipulation, I would hope someone would/could form a help site for installers to diagnose and log these audio manipulations. It would save so much time for installers and system performance if everything was mapped out and shared with the installer community as well as the DIYers. Now I got to figure out what to do with my Accord.

    Crossovers are supposed to cross at -3db. That's not a problem or a mistake, it's how they work. If they're crossing the mid and tweeter at say, 3500Hz, then the high pass on the tweeter will cut the power from slightly above 3500 to -3db at the setpoint and the low pass on the woofer will do the same but opposite, which means the speakers are both 3db down at the crossover point. The reason this is done is so that the two drivers will sum back up to 0db, since both are contributing to the output at and near the setpoint. Obviously, we sometimes get a huge suckout or peak at the crossover point, owing to the hostile nature of vehicle cabins. But that's why we have EQ...

  • @mechanix6191
    @mechanix6191 Год назад

    Was taking the OEM sub output necessary? Didn't the front mid-range provide enough of the low signal? It looked like the tweeter and mid-range when summed provided a full signal.

      I had this done on my 2019 accord sport. Had to put in a DSR1 signal processor inside the dash to convert the line level speaker wires from factory head unit down to RCAs that the amps can use. I recommend having it done professionally, it's a massive amount of work on this car... My one other tip is make sure they disconnect the ANC or you'll get a weird humming sound.

Grounded the amp, put the power cable in the amp, then went on to hook up to the battery. I removed the positive terminal to put the power cable on then put it back on to the battery. I get no power to the sub, also, every warning the car gives came on. I got scared and disconnected the power cable and took for a drive to recalibrate. What am I doing wrong?

    Just so I’m clear on getting a fuller range signal on my 2019 w/premium stereo, I’d have to reverse the tweeter +\- wires when connecting to my speaker wire to rca cable adaptor? Then run the rca to my processor input? I’m confused because the mid and tweeter in this system are run in parallel so it’s only 2 wires.

    Why does Axxess sell a female amplifier bypass harness for 16+ Honda if the digital amp must be retained? Is it for people that want to replace the head unit but use the factory speaker wiring? I don't think that many people would want that.

    • @jims355
      @jims355 4 года назад

      I think it is if you want to retain the factory wiring and run wires from your amp back to the factory amp location. However it would make more sense of they made a male adapter so we could get the high level inputs without cutting the factory wiring.

    Thanks for all you guys do - I love your channel. I have a question and I'd really appreciate some help if you don't mind. I have the 2019 Accord with the premium audio system. I have an LC-4.800 and a separate amp for my aftermarket sub. I was planning to get my signal from the 2 rear woofers and tweeters, sum the signals, run 1 wire to each of the doors and 1 wire to each rear deck location (don't care about the center speaker). Essentially four channels of output. Since the signals are summed, I was planning to split the signal to each set of speakers, so I'd end up with a wire to each woofer and one to each tweeter. Doing that for four locations would allow me to use a four channels amp. I would lose fader control, but other than that it should work right? Any concern about getting my signal from the rear since the signal is amplified? I appreciate it.

    • @heavypupper1219
      @heavypupper1219 3 года назад

      Did you ever do what you were trying to do.. I replaced all my speakers kicker components in font doors and rear deck and a kicker coaxial in the center and I put an 8" comp c in the rear deck all fed by the factory amp then I tapped into the sub channel and added a cxa1200.1 and added 1 12" skar vfx. Sounds decent but now I want to add a amp for all the other speakers but I don't know where to get the signal from. Front woofers or rear woofers

    • @thegravytrain1129
      @thegravytrain1129 3 года назад

      @@heavypupper1219With this "premium audio" system Honda used, there is a separate signal to each of the speakers, and it's specific to that speaker. For example, the wire to the front tweeter ONLY has the signal range intended for the tweeter - not a full signal range. So, what I did was get signal from the two rear tweeters and the two rear woofers. I ran all 4 signals into my LC-4.800 and summed the signals, which made it so my output from the amp was full signal. Since I only took my signal.from the rear speakers, I lost fader control and I don't have any sound from the center speaker, but I sounds great. The other problem was that I lost the ability to use the car speakers for phone calls. Apparently phone calls are only played through the front speakers.... I've considered running additional signal wires from the front speakers to my amp so the phone and center speaker would work, but that's a lot of work so I haven't done it.

    • @heavypupper1219
      @heavypupper1219 3 года назад

      @@thegravytrain1129 thanx for your response, most ppl don't ever respond. I was thinking about using kicker loc 46KISLOC2 which is suppose to turn the signal flat from the 2 front woofers to an eq which will in return give me 6 rca outputs 2 for the subwoofer amp , 4 for for a 5 channel amp and that amp to to the door and rear components then use the cross overs to feed the tweeters. My sub amp has rca out which I'll use to the 5th channel on the 5 channel amp for the rear deck sub. And ill let the factory amp feed the center channel. I know that was alot of explaining but if you got what I was saying do you think it will work.

      Well after just watching this video so far I'd say replacing the mids in the front door with a good quality 2 way. The tech himself said the crossover to the highs at 8k, way too high!!! Mids aren't made to deliver that range so a quality 2 way would help a bunch. I believe the change would be quite noticeable, a cleaner sound by far

      If they are very high quality factory speakers such as a Mark Levinson system in a Lexus especially with digital inputs on the amp, just do nothing more than adding a subwoofer otherwise leave it alone. If you plan to put in aftermarket system shortly after buying a car, do your research if it has digital crap in it that audio control does not yet have a solution for. Cars that come with CarPlay especially if the factory radio comes with a 192KHz 24 but DAC, an aftermarket head unit is a waste of money and not worth doing. In older cars that use analog steering wheel controls instead of digital, putting in an aftermarket so cheap in terms of parts you need in addition to aftermarket radio that you will be a lot more likely to spring for that expensive 10 inch floating screen radio.
