Those are some great events that you've entered. On All Points North, each rider carries a tracker, so family/friends/fans can track riders' progress online, so, although you'll be riding solo, you won't be alone. I wish you both all the best for all your upcoming adventures.
Buy a saddle with springs !!!! In my city we have several roads with cobbles and a sprung saddle makes them almost like a normal road. Good look on the hell of the north
That's one hell of a line up on events, and congratulations on the bike sponsorship, so exciting!! New bike day is exciting, new free bike day is triple exciting!
If you fancy a little warm up gravel ride, then the Sherwood Forest Glorious Gravel event is on the 23rd March. I'm doing it on a mountain bike with a friend, the longest route is 85km ( we are doing that) but there are 2 shorter routes. It's pretty local to you too.
Did the first ever Dirty Reiver way back when (Still have the tee shirt). It was dark when I started, dark when I finished. It was frosty, windy, sunny and we had a mahoosive snow storm half way through (just your average every day weather for Northumberland in April 😀) . It's a tough long ride but thoroughly enjoyable. You'll love it!
I love the way you simplify everything - I'd be cacking it. Succeed or otherwise in your events, I have a feeling this is going to be the RUclips channel to watch this year, and it was pretty special last!
That's quite a lineup of events to ride in 2024. Sounds like you've got two big rides planned: All Points North 1000k and the 1600k in Italy. The Italy ride will just be a longer version of PBP. Instead of three segments of 400k each, the Italy ride will probably be a 400k segment followed by four 300k segments. It really should not be all that difficult considering how the two of you finished so well at PBP. However, the APN ride is going to be really difficult because you have to do all the following: 1) design a 1000k route yourself, 2) be good at climbing because the the terrain dictates the ride will be a climbfest, 3) you have to get comfortable riding alone for the duration of the ride which is totally unlike what went on at PBP, and 4) you have to get good at doing bike maintenance i.e., changing flat tires (both front and rear wheels). What route mapping software do you use to create routes? The sooner you get the route designed the better off you'll be. A 1000k route takes time to design. There are not a lot of convenience stores in the northern part of England that are open 24/7. You'll need to figure out how you are going to stock up with water and food for the riding you'll need to do after night fall. Here's a sample route that includes the 10 controls used in the APN 2023. See ridewithgps.com/routes/45405676. This year the controls are distributed so it will probably be best to design the route clockwise instead of counterclockwise so you get the climbing done in the first half of the ride. Also, a brevet allows for drafting and generally is not 50,000+ feet of climbing. And a brevet gives you 75 hours to complete 1000k. The time limit for APN is only 72 hours. Plan early and plan well for APN and you will be very successful. Cheers!
Yep APN is all of that, and you do end up in very remote places. I only really started longer audax in 2019 and had a go at APN in 2020 when it was unofficial (due to covid) then another try properly in 2022. OK I only got 4/5 of the way round but it's one hell of an experience. I took a very lightweight tent as you have to cope with some extreme weather and midges! When I did need accommodation there was none or it was extortionate prices being a bank holiday weekend. best to be totally prepared. Yes there are very few of us women giving it a go. You can do it.
Sounds like such a challenge - yes defo going to go prepared for everything! I was thinking about that with bank hol! Awesome that you got that far, hope I can do the same!
Good luck to you both for this year’s adventures!! Looking forward to the videos! Kielder is in beautiful Northumberland, my neck of the woods! Lots of yippees to be had! 😁
Of COURSE we're interested in what you're doing this year! Sounds like a great schedule, and we'll be watching with keen interest. Bike sponsor? Ooooooooh, let the speculation begin. Have faith in your abilities Amy and Kyle; you've both earned that faith through a lot of hard work. All the best!
complete respect, lovely to hear your plans. I am a middle aged man, not quite in your league, but this is inspiration for me and pleasing to hear, good luck.
Looking forward to seeing amy n kyle adventures again 2024 😊 happy to see the sponsorships you are now being blessed with. I for one like your channel as its refreshing to see a couple that share my passion you are great viewing. My passion is offroad slash gravel down here in the south we have the king alfreds way 350km 4500mtr of climbing and the infamous South Downs Way 160km with 3500mtr im sure would both love the views and be shocked with the climbing here in sussex. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us 😊
Awh, just a nice light ride schedule for 2024! My gawd! Plus a new sponsor for you - bikes! Everthing is coming up roses for you, Amy and Kyle. I wish you the best this year in your endeavors and also that you keep your love of riding intact and well. Look after each other! Keep up the goodness. Love, from Canada to you!
Great year ahead!!! Dirty Reiver is in Scotland and is epic! For your cobble riding maybe invest in a good pair of padded gloves if you haven't got some. Helps the wee handies on the bumps!! Cycled lots in Edinburgh and it has lots of cobbles. Good luck xx
Sounds like an amazing year ahead. So pleased for you both. I could watch you both talking all day. Such an inspiration, and "not a dog or pale ale" had me actually lol. Can't wait to see the new bikes. 😃

You guys have Some Epic rides planned this year, look forward to seeing the views ! I have my 1st Audax end of January, and can’t wait. Your channel got me to look at them as another way to have fun while cycling 👍
@@amy.cycling.adventures dipping my toe in the water with the gentle “Jack and Grace Cotton Memorial 100km”. As a starting point. Only downside is we seem to be pretty limited on calendar events down Somerset, so my Audax adventures may take me further afield. It’s not on the mental scale you guys do buts it’s the start of my Audax journey 😊👍
Wow! Some serious bad-ass events planned in those few and that's excluding all of the audaxes (and presumably some pretty challenging ones at that in order to train for APN and Migia, et al). Wish you all the very best with your plans and really hope that the training and health (and luck, of course) is on your sides and you achieve what you hope for. I shan't be bumping into either of you on those events I can be 100% certain! However, may see you in a cafe or recovering at the roadside! This year I'm doing reverse planning in that I'm not doing any long rides (over 200k) or silly climbing, etc. Just getting out and enjoying the ride, the views, the company and the cakes will suit me grand. BTW. Kielder is in Northumberland (pronounced Keelder). If you want to get a taste of some of the roads up this way I would suggest searching for Andy Berne in the audax calendar planner. Great content and love your channel Will you be launching Amy Running Adventures this year?
Some great events but if you want cobbles you should go the week before for tour of flanders.the cobbles are slightly less brutal but are on iconic climbs.
Wowzers what a line up of events. And yes we are interested to hear what you guys are upto and have planned 😁 thanks for sharing - it always helps rev up my motivation ❤
Great plans Amy so keep the stress down and enjoy the moment while you do all these events. You will and can do all these things Amy no doubt at all. LOL more big great things happening can't wait to see your sponsored bikes and who else is going to sponsor you too? I told you 2024 is going to be a dream filled year for Amy Cycling Adventures. Everyone like, share, and subscribe to this lovely and inspiring youtuber. Kyle will be fine on the time trial too. TTFN back to you!!
I share your excitement. Will be rooting for you and Kyle at all the events especially at Paris Roubaix. Hope you've got some nice wide tyres on your bike!
Sounds awesome, I only have two goals for 2024, after only starting my cycling journey last year I completed a 50 miler and a 100k ride. I want to do a 100 mile ride, and I’ve also signed up for the road London to Brighton for the British heart foundation. My goal is to complete these, May seem simple to some but that’s things with goals, they’re personal! Just hoping I can get up Ditchling Beacon climb as it’s apparently one of toughest in country…. Having suffered with heart problems as a baby and almost died, research from BHF saved me and now as I approach my 40th birthday it’s time to give something back. Love the channel and so glad you’re both getting credit you deserve! Thanks for the inspiration -
That's an exciting diary of events Amy. Look forward to the videos that go with them. I don't have anything quite as incredible lined up......but will certainly be doing the annual Isle of Wight Randonnee again on the Mayday bank holiday weekend. It's a 110km ride around the island that usually attracts around 3,000 participants. Basically, I plan to do a half Everesting on my bike one day and then run a half marathon the following day. That's all I've actually got planned so far, apart from just going out and enjoying riding my bike. 🚴🏃🏼♂️
Ah they sound like two great challenges, a half Everest followed by a half marathon, you’ll be Knick-knacked, but it’s a great cause, good luck!! Enjoy your rides ☺️

Also, don't rely too much on feed stations. they were chaotic at best. Trans Devon in May would also be a good event for you both.
Make sure you have those gravel bike tires converted to tubeless. That will help with any tire issues. Ive been lucky, a 250km and 200km gravel events without any punctures or issues

Yes of course!! Ohh glad to hear that! I do like the Starbucks ones (not as good as drink me chai haha and don’t try the Costa one not worth it 😂 I’ve done the rounds!) enjoy your rides!
Your videos are great. Look forward to seeing your adventures during the year and also seeing what new bike you are going for. I’m thinking if getting a new endurance bike - just so much choice 😃🚴♂️
Kielder is pronounced Keel-der and is in England but only 1.5 miloneys , as the crow flies, from the Scottish border. It's a great gravel area, I love it up there. I hope that the weather gods are with you 🌞 🙏 🤞, it can be bleak up there! All the best for 2024 🚴♂️👍
Amy, if you endeavor for the 1000km event, please invest in a full bike tune-up. Include a new bottom bracket, chain and tires prior to the start of the event. You may avoid a myriad of problems by this preventative maintenance..Trust me, if you have any major mechanical issues it will be because you disregarded this advice.....Please do it, I wish you and Kyle well as always!!!. Cheers, Pjw
Sign up for Tour of Bristol 65k first bike challenge as Type 2 Diabetes. Should interesting keep my fueling right. Good luck with all what you both are doing.
I did Paris Roubaix a couple of years back, cracking event, thankfully dry, fit some nice 33-35mm tyres and you'll float over the cobbles, I didn't find the pave too bad...............other than the Arenberg, which is just bonkers !
Great to hear your plans. Very ambitious challenges for you both. Look forward to following along, on youtube that is, I couldn’t keep up in real life 😂. I’ve just bought a gravel bike and plan to do my first 100 miler this year. Longest ride to date is 76 miles on my emtb so it’s gonna be a challenge. Already looking forward to the snacks 😂
@@amy.cycling.adventures Thanks Amy. Yeah it’s all about the snacks. 😂 On my last long ride one of my snacks got stolen by a seagull so Im not going to let that happen again 😩😂

You guys have a big year of cycling ahead. It's good to see that you both share the same passion. At the end of this year put your name's in the ballot for the 2025 Fred Whitton challenge, it's the toughest sportive but the most beautiful around the Lake District National Park.
Yes, you have to. I did it in 2022, it was my big challenge after suffering a seizure followed by brain surgery to remove a tumour. Completed the Fred in 8hrs 34mins, I was so emotional at the end bit so pleased with my achievement 😊
You two will be fine on the Dirty reiver, I’tll be my fourth time this year, I’m know where near as fit as you two. Zero mechanicals or flats so far All the best

Just out of curiosity what did you have planned for event four for this year as you seem to go from all points north(event three) to 24 hour time trial(event five) or did I miss something whilst watching the video. Keep up the good work Amy and kylie.

Your videos are great. Look forward to seeing your adventures during the year and also seeing what new bike you are going for. I’m thinking if getting a new endurance bike - just so much choice 😃🚴♂️
Ahh thank you!! Ohhh exciting!
2024 advance giant defy pro O. £5,500 my retirement gift to myself. Don’t tell anyone 😂😃
PUT ON THE LARGEST TIRES THAT WILL FIT YOUR BIKE WHILE YOU GET USED TO THE COBBLES…
Good luck, I’ll be rooting for for you two!!!
Yes that’s the plan! Thank you!
Kielder is pronounced Keel-der and is in England but only 1.5 miloneys , as the crow flies, from the Scottish border.
It's a great gravel area, I love it up there. I hope that the weather gods are with you 🌞 🙏 🤞, it can be bleak up there!
All the best for 2024 🚴♂️👍
Ahh thanks! You too ☺️
@@amy.cycling.adventures 🙂🚴♂️👍
The Action Medical Research Garmin Ride in the New Forest is also a great event.
Yes looks amazing but it will likely clash with the Miglia in August 😢
So excited you are doing all points north - so am i
Yay! See you there!
Get a ShockStop stem to help with cobbles
Amy, if you endeavor for the 1000km event, please invest in a full bike tune-up. Include a new bottom bracket, chain and tires prior to the start of the event. You may avoid a myriad of problems by this preventative maintenance..Trust me, if you have any major mechanical issues it will be because you disregarded this advice.....Please do it, I wish you and Kyle well as always!!!.
Cheers, Pjw
Thank you!!
That’s a busy year, see you on All Points North.
Awesome!! Good luck!
Thank you! Looking forward to the challenge ☺️
Not a dog or a pale ale 😂😂😂 Quote of the day!
You’ve both got form not pedigree.
😂😂
What a year! 👍👍💪👌
yes you got it get that dinner running kylie hahaha you crack me up
You should try the Ronde van Calderdale route for practice
Great to hear your plans. Very ambitious challenges for you both. Look forward to following along, on youtube that is, I couldn’t keep up in real life 😂. I’ve just bought a gravel bike and plan to do my first 100 miler this year. Longest ride to date is 76 miles on my emtb so it’s gonna be a challenge. Already looking forward to the snacks 😂
Awesome good luck for your 100! Haha snacks are a highlight 🙌
@@amy.cycling.adventures Thanks Amy. Yeah it’s all about the snacks. 😂 On my last long ride one of my snacks got stolen by a seagull so Im not going to let that happen again 😩😂
@@playing_in_trafic oh no!! 😂 I would not be happy that 😂
@@amy.cycling.adventures 😂 Yeah I was devastated at the time. It gave me a funny story to tell afterwards though hahaha take care and watch out for seagulls
Amy for life!!!

Good.icky to you both! You are a real inspiration!
Thank you ☺️
if you want to practice riding on cobbles, try a ride round the back streets of halifax , there’s plenty there :-)
Love Roubaix, done it 8 times!! I am slow but if you get away before 8 there is no problems....more tarmac than you think
Yay!! Thank you ☺️
You guys have a big year of cycling ahead. It's good to see that you both share the same passion. At the end of this year put your name's in the ballot for the 2025 Fred Whitton challenge, it's the toughest sportive but the most beautiful around the Lake District National Park.
Yes that’s on the bucket list!!
Yes, you have to. I did it in 2022, it was my big challenge after suffering a seizure followed by brain surgery to remove a tumour. Completed the Fred in 8hrs 34mins, I was so emotional at the end bit so pleased with my achievement 😊
@@davidthomas9079 wow that’s amazing, go you!!
You two will be fine on the Dirty reiver, I’tll be my fourth time this year, I’m know where near as fit as you two. Zero mechanicals or flats so far
All the best
Awesome we’ll see you there 🙌
Wow some amazing rides planned guys.. sounds brilliant.. Dans awesome at UKBikefit.. Pete 😃😃🚴🏻🚴🏻
Yes looking forward to the adventures! And he is!
Can you do a vid on how to best plan a route. Apps to use. Just upped to a 1040 so I've got to learn fast!
Komoot and cycle travel are the two I’d recommend
@@SpicybangraloverCheers. Komoot is what I have used on my old 820. At least it's free. Don't fancy paying Strava £9mo for the rest of my life! Found some Komoot YT vids on how to set routes up since I posted my msg👍
I usually use the Garmin connect app to plan mine ☺️
Loved this video. I hope you consider doing some events in the U.S. so we can ride with you someday ❤
Would love to visit the US one day!
I’ll see you at the 145km Paris Roubaix. I’m easy to spot. I’ll be the 20st bloke. I reckon you’ll finish a bit before me…😂
Awesome!!! See you there!! 🎉🎉
That’s a great cycling year you’ve got planned, Maybe it’s time for “Amy & Kyle’s Cycling Adventures” 👍
Yes!!
You are so much wiser than a year ago. So, it will be hard, but your training will be so much more focused.
If you meant Keilder then that in Northumberland
Yes that’s the one 😂
👀🙌🏾
Well Done both of you for getting over to do Paris Roubaix
Should see you on route
I would suggest coming on Wednesday then doing a recon ride on Thursday that will help your confidence massively
Also Thursday is pro team recon day so whilst you ride some sectors your be with the pro teams
Ohh sounds awesome!! See you there 🙌🙌

Sorry some spelling errors
Thanks so much for watching, ah wow, I’ll let him know! ☺️ Love Jon he’s great!
Just out of curiosity what did you have planned for event four for this year as you seem to go from all points north(event three) to 24 hour time trial(event five) or did I miss something whilst watching the video.
Keep up the good work Amy and kylie.
Haha I was probably so tired this day after a ride I got my numbers mixed up 😂😂
You two wonderful people, come to Denmark
