- I knew there was a good and interesting story behind Nami, I was expecting it to come with feels and it did. I feel this was definitely her episode to change direction and really grow as a person and officially accept her role in the friend group and crew. Such growth, yes, yes.
Make sure to follow for the remaining episodes if you enjoyed this video. Have a great day!

"Sanji is the dessert" Finally someone that actually says what I think everytime I see that scene ... 😏
🤣🤣🤣 ironic how thr chef is also the meal
@@AlexandAnime indeed 😆
I also would say there's good versatility there. I wouldn't say no to have Sanji as a starter or main course instead. 🤐🤐👀
@@kerwe3447 it's all the above, appetizer, main course, side, and dessert.
The reason she trusts Arlong is that, within his crew, they're bound by a rule not to lie about money. This is briefly mentioned during the poker game, but it's more prominently highlighted in the manga. As for the hat transfer, it's symbolic. The gesture also serves as a promise, mirroring the one he made to Shanks: 'I'll deal with Arlong, and once you're free, you'll return my hat to me. Nami's backstory always gets to me and Emily Rudd was perfect in the help me scene.
Yea they have a rule but they all still lie or break promises lmao.
I get the hat concept, just surprised she was still wearing it for a few hours after. But then gave it back later before the fight.
She can't lie. She just saw the guy flip another guy's house over. She lies, they check the place. They All Die.
You right
"THAAAT STEAAK" got me laughing really bad 😂😂
Them boys go feral over some food, I can relate haha
I think you're kinda confused about something. Garp was always a good guy. The Marines ARE the "good guys". Luffy is technically the "bad guy", he's a pirate after all. Not a hero, not a meat shearer (lol) but the captain of a pirate crew. So yeah, Garp is a good guy
Yea it showed lol. I came in with the wrong perspectives of characters. Like him being at the execution for Roger's death, and being the higher up of axe hand who seemed pretty bad, my context assumed he was a bad too. Later to proven not be.
Garp was revealed like 300+ chapters and episode in the manga and anime. But revealing him early in the live action works too
I think the live action made a bit more sense because they actually known to have 'Monkey D.' in their name.
I like how they use him it makes the marines actually have a use
The live action doesn't do quite as good of a job as the anime with Nami's backstory, but it does it well enough. It makes a lot more sense in the anime why Nami's Mom admitted to having 2 daughters. She simply couldn't bring herself to pretend that she didn't have any daughters, after Nami said they weren't a real family earlier. It's setup better in the anime, and quite a bit was cut out here, but yeah, still good nonetheless!
Additionally, it's commented that she likely predicted that arlong would sink all the island's boats, which means Nami and Nojiko would never have been able to get off the island either, meaning they'd be stuck on the island, but with no tribute paid.
Arlong actually don't hv solid reason to kill Bellemere in the live action 😂
The villagers are not in the scene. In the anime Bellemere kicked Arlong and put her rifle in his mouth. So as an example to those opposing him, he killed her.
.
In the live action the more logical decision for those who aren't fighting back is just extort more.
There is no reasonable reason for Arlong to kill his subjects in either version of the story. Dead subjects don't pay tribute. He is just cruel and resentful like that.
This is a really good episode. You should watch the anime. This scene in anime really made me cry.
Anime will be next after this :D already started it haha
good choice :D
Dito. I cry at everything tho
21:05 (nami touches tattoo)
Alex: Yeah just rip it off
Nami: stabs the tattoo to rip it off
Alex: thats not how u do it! 😆
Had no idea Nami was gonna be so literal about it, but hey I get it haha
If you're having any reservations about starting the anime, just know this; I have about 20 reactors that I watch on the regular and not a single one of them regret it. You can see it in the glow on their face and how many questions they have.
Loving it so far!
You are absolutely right about "Sanji is the dessert!" LOLOLOL
🤣🤣🤣 call em as I see em
If you start the anime I will subscribe and like every video. I would suggest watching 3-4 episodes a video and only doing like 2-3 videos a week so you don’t get burned out. And don’t try to rush and catch up. The show isn’t going anywhere.
One Piece is known for blowing up channels because One Piece fans spend all day looking for good reactors
Also: Fishmen have no need to go in the water. They get all the benefits of land and sea
That's still a ton to burn me out lmao. I got a full time job and then this hahaha. Ima play by ear on the posting process but Def watching anime. Just watched the first ep.
In the anime, Nami is shown to like money a lot. Which was revealed bcs she had a rough childhood being poor and stuff. So in the anime, it seems that she actually betrayed the village bcs Arlong gave her money.
The live action didn't portray this as good as the anime, but it is understandable to cramp multiple episodes into one.
fish people not need to be in water at all, they feel good on land too. also much later in anime will be fishman who eats devil fruit so cannot go in water, but it is very rare ocassion
That's wild haha
Fishmen doesnt need to stay in water, they can survive on land. However, being in water makes them strong cause wet skin is tougher than dry skin (according to their anatomy). Also theres the racism thing, so most fishmen stay in the water to avoid contact with human.
Thanks for the info! And good points!
i saw your video randomly because I wanted to see people react to this episode😅
Hell yeah haha. Thanks for stopping by
THE NAMI STORY WILL WRECK YOU MORE IN ANIME
Wreck me
Surprise owen wilson 🤣😭 spooked. Jumpscared. ~ Woooow ~
I had to haha. At first it was just a close up of me but I was like wait a minute. Let's spice it up
Yeah, I'm telling everyone to watch the Live Action first before starting the Anime. Watching the Live Action will help people get through the first 40ish episodes which can be a little rough for people getting started.
I just got to ep 41 haha. Been great so far for ne
"he's a rabbit?" - think man never seen bunny ears 😆
lmao, i honestly thought it was a rabbit with shitty ears, the whiskers and face made me think more rabbit hahaha. But of course, it connected later haha
crew logos in title cards are all canon, even most of them never used. namy show tongue in anime much more often, i'd say that this is sort of jp cliche face for "i fool you".
Yep! I just saw it in the anime hahaha. Perfect touch
In the anime, Nami's true allegiance was a lot harder to figure out. She didn't have those emotional one-on-one dialogues with Luffy, Kaya and Zoro. She openly loves money, doesn't rant how she hates pirates, and then she betrays Luffy with a smile on her face. It was a whiplash of emotions when her true backstory was revealed.
The live action has time constraint so I understand they have to restructure Nami's arc and character development.
Exactly! I just talked about this and Nami and how it portrayed her better in thr anime and such. So good!
Buggy isn’t quite as funny in this part of the series in the anime. They made him a goof but also more scary as the first devil fruit user. It’s like 400 episodes in where buggy becomes hilarious and the GOAT.
Yea he went crazy on that town tbh haha
Nami's greed over money up until now makes so much sense because of her rough childhood.
Charging her own crew with money may looks so cruel to other people's eyes. But for my own understanding, that's her way to keep them close and ask for their fair share to buy all of them clothes, ship equipments, boozes, foods, especially meats that luffy really loves, and etc.
Despite of her greed in money, nami is not the type who will charge her own crew just to use the money on her own. And she's so much willing to spend all of their money just to save someone.
And it's so hard for nami to trust someone, especially a pirate. So it's normal and easy for her to turn down luffy and the crew before. But she never noticed how she feels happy when she's with them before she ditched them.
There's some changes in her story but it actually makes sense too and still lined up on how cruel her childhood is.
Yea she had it pretty rough
You will like the anime more cz you watched this first. This will complement for sure. And you won't be able to NOT see Iñaki as Luffy in the anime, he is the guy, and also the other cast.
You're right so far! Haha
Sorry that people spoiled stuff for you. It’s more fun learning on your own with this show/anime
Agreed!
The help me scene is probably one of the best moment in One Piece
Some people become a huge one piece fan when that moment hits. Manga, anime or live action, it's always gonna hit the emotions
Oda(creator of One Piece) was also impress by the help me scene. The showrunner also mention that his favorite scene in this live action was "Help me"
It's so damn good. Excited to see it in anime
I WANNA LIVE
12:15 its a rat broski
first comment.. 😊
So fast! Welcome :D
Spoiler
Garp and roger teamed up to defeat the strongest pirate crew in the past. The rocks pirate.
Nezumi is a rat. One of reason marine have bad image in this verse.

Garp was revealed like 300+ chapters and episode in the manga and anime. But revealing him early in the live action works too
Yea I could see it so far
