It was through using the Mendi (on your recommendation) that I realised just how post viral fatigue was affecting my brain and why I was getting brain fog. Prior to that I had symptoms, but not observable data. POTS-like symptoms, especially after exercise, were affecting my cerebral blood flow. I can use the Mendi during good periods, but using the Mendi when I'm crashing can make things worse (like lifting weights on a rest day). I'm working on boosting HRV and vagal tone alongside my Mendi now and it seems to be helping. Really love your channel Dr Cody. I appreciate your advice, the blend of science and spirituality and love your passion.

Thanks Cody. Your practical description of meditation techniques was very good. I have a Muse so it was great to hear your take on its technical aspects. I’m majorly disillusioned at present, out of work and bordering on depression. I’m hoping this presentation might signal a turn around for me. I sat through some major debunking RUclips’s the last 2 days. And really need to rediscover my own centre of control. I fully agree with all your comments about the difficulty of forming a meditation habit. I’m still struggling to achieve that after a lifetime of trying but that’s another story 😂

    Hi Cody,
I like this video! But know ‘looking’ for this sensations can be a culprit itself. But if ofcourse depends on you’re meditation intention. And it’s a good think that it helps with doing daily meditation. I think a important to go without any expectation in a meditation for the best result.

Have you tried just build something like 45minutes or how lond you meditate , they can be legos or wood things and just be happy after you have finished. You can vizualize when you are building like lets say you are building toothbrush holder. Common problem now days is there is just endless amount of email and you cant focus on your work and you cant see any progress etc.

Thanks! I'm not sure if you already do, but it would be great to see a video on your journey and how you got into this :)

Would love one of these devices to use a closed loop system to use binaural beats or TCDS, based on your brainwaves, to improve sleep quality. I know Dr. Matthew Walker is working on a TCDS device of this sort, but I'm getting impatient with my decades of crappy sleep, and while less effective, it seems a lot easier to do this with a binaural beats system.

I have all three devices. Not sure I’ve seen focus improve dramatically like I have with Sensi but he is correct on time consumption.
Sometimes with Sensi I’ve seen my heart rate go up using a boost for intense focus.
Maybe I need to give Mendi more time to work its magic and mix and match like Codi does with his devices. Not sure.
Open to any tips on performance and focus.

@@CodyRallMDI would say I felt meditation right away in the 90’s in a highschool psych class. I stuck with it along with working out over the years.
In my late 20’s I got diagnosed with ADHD when I started working as an ICU nurse. Before ADHD I took ADHD meds I would say meditation helped but it would not last.
Maybe 7 years ago I saw Muse at an Indy Target and decided to get it. It was like meditation on steroids. Then two years ago the Therabody Smart Googles I found really relaxed me. So, I used both.
Another nurse introduced me to your work when she mentioned your comparison between Mendi and Muse. So I got it 1-2 months before a surgery in May of last year and I was consistent. I think it might have helped me and my score was improving but that may not have been enough time. It did remind me of neurofeedback I did a place I went to in Chicago in 2005 that had you move a ball up and down and they placed electrodes on you.
It’s a bit of workout for me and easy to strain with it if you push to hard.

@@CodyRallMDso with Mendi post op I couldn’t kick back on a recliner like Muse. And sometimes with Muse if I feel anxious when I wake up I can throw it on while Im in bed. I’m on my 4th Muse headband I have had all three versions of Muse.
I got Sensi AI in January 2024. I felt the effects right away. I would say intense focus with the boost felt like an ADHD med that didn’t last as long but it felt more high powered than Muse.
I usually get really drowsy anytime I do meditation in which I focus on an object. I also think I lack some visual spatial memory.
Sensi during my first intense session I do know I was able to focus on the object they gave me 40-45 minutes. I can’t say I’ve ever done that.
I still get drowsy so I close my eyes on the boost if I’m really tired then during the focus part I open them. I usually count my breaths when I meditate and listen to the sounds. Normally I have to be in the zone to hit 300-500 but hit that right away.

@@CodyRallMDI’ve tried Sensi then Mendi back to back. I think I strain to much do a Sensi Focus session then going into Mendi. Plus that’s not healthy sitting to much either and I think exercise is just as important.
So, I listened to your videos and you mentioned Mendi works faster for focus. I’m a bit confused Mendi is quicker and more doable. Sensi is a bit addictive and time consuming. I was doing it 2-3 times per day using it so chilled out a bit on it.
Not sure what you recommend since Sensi does create a state change and focus. You have to do it for 40 minutes. On my second assessment I saw a slight improvement and then my third one I might have regressed back to baseline a bit.
I don’t want to fall trap to thinking state change and an immediate focus is making long term impact.
Maybe Mendi really is since it feel more like a brain workout.
      What do you recommend?
