    Great video. I had a DrumIt5 but sold the kit as I hated the hardware and the hi-hat. Now I play a TD30 Drum-Tec. However, based on what I have seen here I'm going to get a DrumIt3 module for the tom sounds and run both modules. Thanks for putting in the time to make a great sounding video. :-)

    Hi, Nice to finaly watch a video with good audio of a 2box. Most video’s have bad audio Quality and that is a shame... I think 2box is the best edrum on the market, unfortunaly 2box is not so strong in the marketing and sales part... Im playing drums for over 30 years acoustic (very old Pearl) and edrum (use to have a td20) but never bin so inpired while playing sinds I bought my 2box!!! Even comparing to acoustic iT is like acoustic and electric gitaars... electric gitaar is very diferend but also very inspiering!

    the sounds in this kit and free downloads are quality, I used to play Roland kits Stopped at a TD12 when i realised all the sounds where the same just tweaked different on the newer modules ,TD50 included, i play with the stock pads and triggers on a an acoustic kit with mesh heads, now with the Drumit3 people with other bad sounding kits can upgrade just the module and experience the excellence of these sounds, As a note though i would say that these modules are for the more experienced e-drum players.

    I have the 2Box drumit 5 mk1 module with a 64 GB card connversion. My diy snare plays like it has positional sensing. On the snare I'am using 2 different edge triggers mounted @ 11 o'clock & 1 o'clock into the 2Box and a 3rd smaller 27mm center mounted trigger (Quartz percussion lowest sensitivity) plugged into my TD11 that adds dry Roland sounds. I'am right handed so the 35mm tigger @ 11 o'clock is the most sensitive (Quartz percussion). There is an Extreme trigger @ 1 o'clock it is medium sensitive with a higher threshold setting has the same snare file but tunned +0.1 and a decay of 1.5 -2.5 that is plugged into Tom 1. Hitting the mesh snare head at different sides and at different dynamics triggers 3 different layers of sound, diy positonal sensing. I have a Roland BT1 mounted top right for the rim click samples (Tom 1 rim). I have 2 toms on a splitter cable from the Tom 2 output. With a guitar ABY pedal I plug the kick into both the TD11 & 2Box modules. Only the snare & kick are connected to the TD11. Different TD11 kits will change the tuning, tone, snare buzz, ring and kick fattness of the combined drum sound. The 2Box open sound does benefit from the fat tight attack Roland snare & kick sound. The 2Box headphone output is plugged into the TD11 aux input, so I can still use the metronome and coach function. The 2Box sounds are superior and you can make & play your own multilayered samples. I hope this help 2Box users get positonal sensing.

Back when I did this all the sounds were 2box sounds, either on the stock module or from the 2box website for free. I can't recall the settings but now my snare GAIN is 0, THRESH -48, CURVE Norm, XTALK off. The hats I use have changed so can't recall those settings either. The toms and cymbals had different settings for every pad and I can't remember. Some of my other vids may answer ur questions regarding settings etc. I recorded that on a digital recorder. Like a tascam 4 track. Straight in. I used iMovie to sync audio and vid. I can't help regarding ur new snare pad. @danandlea1  6 лет назад

      Thanks for ir comment and kind words. Ur kit sounds rad! Ive had double triggering issues with kick and snare and both were fixed using module settings. Took a bit of playing around but worked. Try UNIT/MASK. Bring that up to the highest value u can without it messing with your fast dbl stroke roll. It will affect a buzz roll but not fast doubles. Then goto UNIT/TRIG and raise THRESHOLD value until it begins to stop letting ur soft hits through. Lower the value just enough to let those soft hits thru but no more than u have to. If u still have trouble ask at the unofficial 2Box forum. An expert will help u within 24 hrs.

      Hi again, coming back with a bit of feedback about the few things I have recently done to my set. Thank you for your kind and useful tips btw. First- mesh heads. I am trying Remo Silentstroke 10'' and 14'' and Z-ED triple x 14'' on my new acoustic snare with 2box trigIt and my advice is to avoid Z-EDs (I had to force is to fit on the rim, the quality is visibly worse then Remo, but also I got a more serious problem with occasional double triggering effect when there is a harder stroke -I am guessing it's about the inner mesh layer bouncing back and hitting the top layer...and I have to say I got it tide!!! So, whoever read this I recommend Remo...with the same settings makes a MAGIC! Great response and immediate improvement in sound quality. Now I change it to my 14 kick pad and what a huge difference does it make!!!. Perfect triggering instead of what I had before. Second thing is the acoustic snare I use now... People if you can get a second hand cheap one, than go for it, as this is just a completely different experience. With Remo head and Trigit it feels and sound a hell better than 12 inch pad... I understand now why 2box stopped making the sets. The trend is to convert acoustic rather than buy pads. Many thanks again and I hope this will help someone to make decision when you buy your kit. Soon I will upload music using the set on my channel. Cheers

    Hey Blocky, as somebody who's clearly spent lots of time playing with the Drumit 5, maybe you could give me some advice... I looked at a set last night that I might be able to pick up cheap, because while all the pads *seem* to be working OK, the head module seems badly scrambled. All the kits are screwed up, the cymbals on every kit seem to think they're constantly being choked, they don't ring at all, running the PREF -> INIT -> UNIT command said "no change..." I wonder if a software update and totally overwriting the card content might end up giving me a working drumset, or if I should call it ten foot pole material and move on. Also, the hi-hats suck, the magnet thing sticks like crazy. I've seen your solution with the Roland gear but I didn't expect the 2box thing to be *that* bad... Any thoughts? I'm considering offering the guy like AU$600 or so.

      Gday bud. Its so hard to say because its either a data issue or hardware issue. If its data, easy fix. If its hardware, need to understand what part in order to assess viability. Me, id take the risk but get it as cheap as u can because it might be buggered. U could part it out and get most of ur money back. If it works its a bargain. Id do the 32gb sd upgrade and have a look at inside while ur there. Then buy new sd card, install new software and test. The choked cymbals is likely settings IMO. Ive seen that b4. The 2box hats can be ok if perfectly set but still not perfect, no matter what u do. This is why everyone gets the roland hi hat setup. Id buy it but its ur call. Good luck!

      @@danandlea1 I ended up buying it. I've still got issues with the general shitness of the hi-hats, and every time I turn it back on, I need to cycle the cymbal triggers through all the pad types and back to what I saved them on before they'll stop choking... And I've gotta replace a broken rim and some rubber rings. But I've done the SD card update, I'm looking into a VH11 and the sound and feeling of playing this kit are just making me so damn happy. It's awesome to have a drum kit I can play any time of day. Thanks for the inspiration, and if you're looking for more challenges I'd love to see you pull off Mud Sauce. :D

      @@lozzobear cool!! Yea. Um. Sounds like changes arent being saved properly. Be sure to push KIT after changing settings and then push SAVE twice. Not once. Try that. Should fix cymbals. Congrats on the 32gb upgrade. Big leap and u did it right away! Get o rings from ebay. I got 5 dif sizes as they are cheap. Tried them all to find what worked. Cant remember exact size now. I measured an orig one too. Play around with hats over time id say.

      These sounds are sampled from real acoustic kits. Roland are still synthesized sounds that mimic real drums and cymbals.

    • @danandlea1
      @danandlea1  6 лет назад

      Its kit #3 ‘Minneman Kit’. The tom samples are 10,12,14,16 Maple. It is a nice preset. Very open and natural. Marco’s gong drum sample is also included in that preset but i didnt have it assigned to a pad. Whopper....

      BPM- They feel great. The triggers are under the rim but the feel is very authentic, perfect in fact.

    could you break down the prices please and where did you purchase it from

    • @danandlea1
      @danandlea1  6 лет назад

      Vatiliai Duguca - i think the RRP of a 6 piece with hats and 2 cymbals is around $3500 AUD. This is 2 of those kits put together. There are also extra toms, cymbals and hardware added to this on top of that. They are obviously cheaper secondhand. I dont think they are made anymore. Just the modules to use with 3rd party pads like roland or other. They appear on ebay every now and then. Thanks!

      @@gearer11 Thanks man. Most snare stands will hold a 12 inch pad. Im using a standard hi hat stand with roland hats and zourman box. Any hat stand works, just put the magnet on stand under the pad. Might need to remove a felt on stand depending. Good luck!
