After listening to tons of modules, ive come to the conclusion this is the most realistic sounding one, next to the Pearl Mimic. Efnote is also pretty good but a bit flat sounding and withh a bit more machine gunning

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  Год назад +1

In my personal experience triggering/playability of Roland, PMP or EFNOTE modules is significantly better & more realistic apart from the sounds. You might also decide to use external sound libraries like Toontrack EZD3 through midi for studio use f.e.:

I have the 2Box drumit 5 mk 1 module with a 64 GB card connversion. My diy snare plays like it has positional sensing. On the snare I'am using 2 different edge triggers mounted @ 11 o'clock & 1 o'clock into the 2Box and a 3rd smaller 27mm center mounted trigger (Quartz percussion lowest sensitivity) plugged into my TD11 that adds dry Roland sounds. I'am right handed so the 35mm tigger @ 11 o'clock is the most sensitive (Quartz percussion). There is an Extreme trigger @ 1 o'clock it is medium sensitive with a high threshold setting has the same snare file but tunned +0.1 and a decay of 1.5 -2.5 that is plugged into Tom 1. Hitting the mesh snare head at different sides and at different dynamics triggers 3 different layers of sound, diy positonal sensing. With a guitar ABY pedal I plug the kick into both the TD11 & 2Box modules. Only the snare & kick are connected to the TD11. Different TD11 kits will change the tuning, tone, snare buzz, ring and kick fattness of the combined drum sound. The 2Box open sound does benefit from the fat tight attack Roland snare & kick sound. The 2Box headphone output is plugged into the TD11 aux input, so I can still use the metronome and coach function. The 2Box sounds are superior and you can make & play your own multilayered samples. I hope this help 2Box users get positonal sensing.

For the moment I would say, this is as close as you can get to a VST. Still thinking about the MK II module as a replacement for my TD-17+EZD2. Simply so I don´t need to start the computer every time I want to practice, get rid of the cable snake and being able to add some more pads. Not to mention the fact, that with EZD2 you are not able to play rim clicks on the toms... Only problem is, the moment I decide to go for the Drumit 5, I also want to go for the Diablo pads or more likely the Pro series and than it gets very expensive very soon XD

Thank you Rodrigo, well it's always hard to compare sounds, as sound preferences are very different & subjective. But concerning playability & functions/featurers, I would still prefer a Roland module for the easier setup, better playability/triggering and features like the digital Roland pads, positional sensing on the snare etc. You can still use your midi out to get great sounds from Superior Drummer or other external libraries:

My question is; how many SD3.0 kits would fit at one time on the module? I'm guessing one? The next spare grand I have I will be on the phone to Drum-Tec. As always Ralf is a beast.

seems to machine gun more than the original mkI version.... hm... especially on the snare. I don't really like the snares. What do you think, Ralf?

I actually am not sure if the Drumit5 uses round robin samples, I guess not. But the older MK1 did not neither, so technically speaking they should be doing "the same" thing in a way :) kind regards!

To be honest, MK 2 sounds different than the first DrumIt 5. A bit more machine gunny.

holy shit...you're right...wtf is wrong with 2box... Drumit 5 is close to say that sound is almost like a real drum but this module ... WHATTT ??? :/

You are speaking about different kits, not about sound module. The core of both modules is the same.
