Here’s my first impression of the new 2BOX Speedlight Kit.
It consists of the DrumIt 3 modul and a new set of pads and cymbals.
I’m going to take you through some of the presets and I will talk a little bit about electronic drums in general and also about this specific kit. Enjoy!

    Awesome drumming, just perfect!
2box have so much potential, unlimited sampling, real samples, no gunning, affordable… it only they invested in a good sampling team/studio! It all sounds so roomy and muddy as it is!
ATV is on the same ballpark but generally it sounds too dry!
Roland also have good triggering but everything sounds like a keyboard!
Unfortunately GEWA and Pearl E-merge decided on the same Roland path!
Pearl Mimic Pro is just perfect but so damn expensive!
EFNote is just about perfect sitting between ATV & 2box but not yet available!
    Damn, tough choices!

Thank you, Andre! Well, there’s also the Sample editor for 2box which you could use to upload other sounds to the module. But I haven’t tried that with multi-layered, complex sounds yet. Like you said, it’s also affordable and at that price range pretty much unbeatable.

Hi Alex, I saw that you have double pedal on bass drum but I didn't saw that you use it. Can you tell as your experience?

You can definitely use a double pedal with the bass drum pad that comes with the Speedlight Kit. When I did this video, I only had very little time and used the kit pretty much “out of the box” in terms of settings. That didn’t work 100% with the left kicks, so I cut out any double bass parts from the video. But with a bit of tweaking, it worked fine later on. The kit is great value for the money, but your expectations have to be realistic. The module is amazing, but the pads are not as great as on electronic kits that cost 2-3 times as much.

Hey, do u know how to connect to Logic Pro x with the drumit3 module

I usually use a midi to USB adapter. It’s ages old, from Edirol. But on the newer modules it might be possible to just use the modules usb out. I didn’t check that part in the manual, because I’m so used to using my adapter.

Do you have to install drivers into a iMac 27 2020, is it latency free when recording with a band live or with other studio tracks. Is it USB straight in the iMac? Thanks

It’s hard to make general statements like that. I used it with Superior Drummer 3, Cubase 10 and a MacBook with 8gb and the M1 and it worked perfectly. You can go straight from the module into your Mac via usb.
