Don't forget Carey and Cannon. These girls eat and breath hip hop and do nothing but honor it. If you watch some of their interviews, you get to see who their inspirations are. Once you get through the tapes, I can't wait for ya'll to get to the VOX line. And their visuals have always been on point. Since day one, however, with everything, you can see the evolution. Simon has created something spectacular with these ladies. The time invested with them is insane. There is more to them than the Tapes, Vox, Move, and videos. They have videos of the formation, when and how they came up. YEARS in the making.
You guys nailed it, this was definitely an homage to that era of hip hop. They definitely didn't need to do it, but I think during the release of these tapes, they were probably still trying to figure out what their point of attack would be in their marketing and visual ideation. If I understand this correctly, the purpose of these X-Tapes / Cypher and Vox Series was introduce the lot to a wider audience - presenting their Rap Line as well as their Vocal Line - with their the Tape 2 going viral on TikTok. If you watch all their content from beginning to current (Pre-Debut to their Awe Mini-Album) you can start to see the genesis of what you guys encountered visually with Woke Up and Howling. They started off as the usual Girl Crush type of Girl Group that's akin to most Kpop groups (and no, these are not considered Kpop) with their first debut track Tippy Toes and the subsequent Mini Album which contains a lot of the elements of Pop / R&B / Dance / and Hip Hop. But I think they began to realize the potential of their talent. I personally think Hesonoo / X-Gene is the first line of Demarcation of their current Alien Alpha Wolves concept, followed by their track Girl Gvng. But the Aliens / Wolf elements are present throughout all their visuals I that first Mini Album release. It wasn't until their release of Shooting Star and Left Right MV's did we really start to see them lean more into the fantastical space visuals you see now. Personally, I like that they moved away from the stereotypical hip hop look. For several reasons. One, it can be argued that leaning into that classic hip hop can look a bit like "cos-play" especially, as you said in the previous reaction, their skill and flow can stand on its own. Two, I think creating their own aesthetic (alien or otherwise) would disarm their audience so that they can just listen to their music without any preconceived notions. And it's working. Anyway, just my two cents. I was super happy to see that this video got posted... because I was DYING to know what you guys thought about this video after your comment about the clothes. Can't wait to watch more of your reactions. PS - sorry for the dissertation. I love writing. hahaha
Not even their company but even up to their stylist and mv production crew and many more loves working with XG as there is no limit to how creative they can be.. this is a dream come true if you're given free reign
Cocona had to be hella young here. She's my favorite as well. Big ups to you both for loving them so much! They really are the best of the best. Appreciate you for continuing to react to them!🐺
They trained for 5-6 years before debuting. So when they debuted in March '22 they were already somewhat seasoned and have been putting out nothing but quality since then. The young ladies were also already inspired by a lot of great artists at an even younger age. Michael Jackson, Lauren Hill, TLC, Aaliyah. They really do it for the love of the music.
Love watching your XG journey. XG has only been out for 2 years. Move # 1 and move #2 (showcases their dance skills) these were filmed pre debut tape # 1 (filmed pre debut) which you have reacted already Vox # 1 (showcases their vocal line) filmed pre debut. Tippy toes is their debut song.
Hi Guys, They started a little over 2 years ago and their very first song that was put out is called "TIPPY TOES" so if you want to start at the beginning that's the video to start with and honestly in my opinion that video was just as good when it comes to quality but check it out for yourselves. I love your reactions and I look forward to seeing you do more from XG!!!
These girls were picked out of close tp 50 girls competing to be picked as the final group and went through several years of training. They were between the ages of 10 and 14. Their first MV came out in 2022. The training together for so long gave them the confidence that you see in them. Nothing shows that confidence more the their Winter Without You First Take video
This was where they caught the most flack for cultural appropriation stuff, which I pretty much think is always a dumb thing but especially when the people doing it so clearly understand the genre and have love for its elements and can prob crush the average hip hop fan in an information dump. But more to the point I think this is when Simon prob came up with his best idea to date, the xg girls began to lean heavily into the world of the aliens, and now all their rap could come from a place of lore but still sound authentic. But not before they tell everyone to STFU in the tape 4’s. Ur gonna notice a theme in those of them telling everybody to pipe down to the initial backlash they got. It’s kind of amazing for a group so young.
Please react to their “XG VOX #6 Losing You + XG VOX #5 XGLEE CLUB” and “Winter Without You FIRST TAKE” I highly recommend those since you guys are also interested in R&B!!!
Thanks for the XG reaction Make sure you guys put XG Tape #4 into one whole video. XG tape #4 has 5 videos and all 5 are short under 2min long thanks in advance ALPHAZ ON DECK 🐺💯
Love how much you guys appreciate this group. It’s crazy how a bunch of really young girls from Japan can rap and have the swagger and skills that they have. They put most American rappers the shame. It’s just quality on another level you don’t see.
Yeah I think the baggy clothes were just the vibe of the song. Definitely paying homage to the Era. They definitely have great management and producers behind the scenes. I hope you guys check out the VOX series after the Tapes.
Really love and appreciate your guys' reactions! Great every time, glad you are enjoying the best journey! Thank you for helping spread the XG love out in the UK!
Not to take away from the girls' talent, but just so you know, the girls don't write their own raps/lyrics. They're super amazing performers, though, and they definitely have their rapping skills down. But like in a lot of the Kpop industry, it comes down to showmanship. And XG also has an incredible team of creatives around them and a good company that supports them, their creations are truly super stylish and simply mesmerizing. I hope once the girls grow more as artists and become more mature, they learn to write their own rap. I'm 90% sure that day will come! I look forward to seeing art that comes from them. Because I really think it'll be amazing, and it'll be even better than their music now.
Great reaction❤️🔥 Highly recommending checking out “winter without you the first take” after tape 5 so you can hear their incredible vocals I’m sure you’ll be blown away❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

I was looking for Tape #4,but I saw there’s Trampoline and solo videos. Is there a certain order to watch them in? ( ruclips.net/p/PLhwNrrS5i4uQ-Kwhd50E1F0rqGKTyE1ZV&si=K9JyBFmZ1FFOFgeA )
The TAPE #4 set was released within a week; back to back days, aside from Trampoline which was released a few days after Jurin's. In order of release: HARVEY, MAYA, COCONA, JURIN, then TRAMPOLINE last.
The journey are taking is so fun! How about you also tune in to BTS? They're the forever Kings of the Korean music scene. Anything you see, from type of content, quality or even paying respect to hiphop, it can all be tracked back to BTS. Everyone in the Kpop industry would agree. You probably know BTS' most popular #1 hit songs, like "Dynamite" or "Butter". But not many people know that BTS' roots are in hiphop, and there's three rappers in BTS that are at the top of the game. The rappers of BTS have worked with J.Cole, Juice WRLD, Wale, Warren G, Anderson Paak, Lil Simz, Nicki Minaj, Erykah Badu (I know she's R&B, but she's queen) and Megan Thee Stallion. All seven members of BTS have successful solo careers. Since you were curious about individual Korean acts, how about you start here? I recommend starting with the leader of BTS, his name is RM (originally Rap Monster). His new album is highly acknowledged and was named the best K-pop album of the year by Billboard, despite being an alternative indie hip-hop sound. The album has been awarded at many international art festivals and even named top recommendation for a Grammy by NME, Rolling Stone, and Billboard. I hope you can react to these 3 music videos by RM: LOST! - RM Groin - RM Around the world in a day - RM ft. Moses Sumney I hope after listening to RM, you'll be curious to listen to more BTS in the future!!

Ohhhhh shit.......i didn't even clock that.....triple entendre 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥RAAAAA......im even more exited now. 😂 MARIA CAREY AND CANNON 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh shit … Carey … definitely missed that. Appreciate you mentioning that and appreciate ppl getting your comment to feature so that I could see it. xD
oh shit Carey and a cannon we didn't even clock that 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Suggestion: gotta do tape 4 at all at once as they are a little shorter than tapes 3. I’m so excited for the reaction. Waiting patiently. ☺️🤙🏽🙌🏽💪🏾
TAPE #4 with those 5 videos will blow y’all away. I can already see the XG effect taking place. You turn into a broken record praising them.
Cocona Maya “Show You Can” they both have some writing credits on this song

Maya & Cocona - Show You Can (color coded lyrics) 🙏🏻
This one goes hard
Their company loves them as well as giving them their all in production.
Not even their company but even up to their stylist and mv production crew and many more loves working with XG as there is no limit to how creative they can be.. this is a dream come true if you're given free reign
@Rudy-w5u absolutely
Don’t forget Show You Can Lyric Video with Maya & Cocona , which is not on their channel because it was made for a dance contest show… totally Hard
ALPHAZ ON DECK!
Glad y’all enjoying it. TAPES #4 next in order; HARVEY, MAYA, COCONA, JURIN, then TRAMPOLINE.

Vox # 1 (showcases their vocal line) filmed pre debut.
Tippy toes is their debut song.
XG back ❤ after you are done with rap tapes, you gotta hear their singing vocals. All 7 of them can rap and sing, a team of ACEs 😂 True Alpha pack

I'm from the UK and loved XG the moment they debuted in 2022.
The girls are underrated and being blocked by the western music industry
Dudes, tis the season. Give Winter Without You (First Take) - the greatest live version - to hear some genuinely excellent R&B, song and vocals
These girls were picked out of close tp 50 girls competing to be picked as the final group and went through several years of training. They were between the ages of 10 and 14. 1000's of girls auditioning before they even got to the 50
