I was WAITING for you guys to get to this. First time I heard this, I got a lot of Craig David, Deetah, Amira vibes. They sampled a vocal part and the rap structure from an early Japanese hip hop group called M-Flo. (Song is called Prism) But I told ya'll, these girls honor and revere old school hip hop in ALL forms! Simon (Their producer) is a damn genius who brings the best out of these girls!

And even recommended his music it’s crazy how many people have only recently found out of some artists because XG puts people on. This song was actually sampled from a very popular song from Japan in the 90s m-flo’s Prism. IYKYK, LEFT RIGHT, IN THE RAIN, and IS THIS LOVE are the most nostalgic songs XG has and honestly for me it’s their best songs and that says something because all their songs are top notch. It’s just the way XG takes such nostalgic sounds and makes them feel entirely new.
