They’re a pop R&B group that does hip hop… just don’t want you guys to get your hopes up. What you’re enjoying is going to be what you’re enjoying. As a full group they’re massively talented tho..Their vocal line is as impressive as their rap line. To see their vocal range as a group I suggest the live One Take of “Winter Without You”. Yeah, they’ll never get political or go beyond their own personal stories. Being based in Korea and following the Kpop guide includes strict unwritten rules. They have been trained since they were kids in singing dancing and rapping, among many other girls who didn’t make the cut. The visual have to be striking, the songs have to be catchy, the dancing has to be precise, the styling has to be pretty. They have to be upbeat and funny. I’m not saying that’s it’s not authentic. But they didn’t come up with it. They are different in the sense that they push things a little further, like their styling is very extravagant for example. Cocona was allowed to shave her head which no other girl group member would ever be allowed to do. And they’re allowed to curse, which is not a thing in kpop. You don’t know that because you don’t have a frame of reference and it’s okay.
