    I find it funny how Shulk learned so many moves from Dunban and basically melded his and his own fighting styles together
    While Rex just said "If it ain't broke, double spinning edge"

      To be fair, Shulk kind of had to as he lost an arm, and his replacement wasn't as good sp had to change his fighting style.
      I do think that some of Rex stances and auto attacks are based on Morag showing he including some of her style

    I see Shulk's arts working kind of like this:
    Slit Edge looks like Gale Slash of course but also like the original Slit Edge but if Shulk tried it with only his left hand
    Stream Edge like Worldy Slash but also like if he tried doing it with only his left hand, originally it came from the left and swung to the right and now its backwards (and add the extra slash for the Dunban reference)
    Heavy Rush is new and is like Steel Strike, not much else
    Monado Buster is Shulk flexing that he learned how to do Blossom Dance (probably in XCX lol)
    Monado Armour like it did previously but with one arm of course
    Monado Purge a lot of people say its like Demon Slayer, but not necessarily, to me it looks more like Shulk trying to do Back Slash with his left hand, he leaps a little in the air and slams the weapon down (yes, I know it doesn't work like Back Slash for obvious reasons) and bonus for Back Slash, in the base game when characters use Overclock Buster it kinda looks like Back Slash's animation in Smash
    Monado Rage first puts his weapon on his shoulder kind of like Dunban when doing Blinding Blossom (but Dunban has a lot more swag) and a red mist appears in front of him (Heat Haze?), and yes the mist deals damage, and then the follow up slash is completely new as far as I can tell, and also bonus for Monado Rage, Reyn has an art called Rage in XC1, they don't necessarily function the same but Monado Rage reminded me of Reyn a lot (probably because of Reyn's aura Engage or Dunban's Battle Eye), and actually Rage from Reyn works like Shulk's skills in FR, which is sad because spike damage is borderline useless

      The motion of the actual strike aren't even the same. 2's was a jab/poke while 3's is a downward slash. If anything, it's just Burning Sword with Pneuma's sword and they slapped on the name Infinity Blade

    • @lemmyxpro
      @lemmyxpro Год назад +1

      It is in name, and Rex combines the replica Aegis swords together to form what is essentially Pneuma's Aegis sword while using Infinity Blade in XC2, before using an attack in which the animation is very near identical to Rex & Pyra's LVL 4 Blade Special in XC2, Burning Sword.
      So, to sum everything up, Rex's Infinity Blade in XC3 is a combination of his and Pneuma's Infinity Blade from XC2, and his and Pyra's Burning Sword from the same game.
