    I don’t think she’s nearly as broken as Rex or even Matthew, but Glimmer feels like the unsung hero of the Future Redeemed party. Since the tanks are honestly kind of worthless at keeping aggro, and A is more of an off-healer than dedicated support, Glimmer is basically the only person that can keep Rex alive, and she delivers by being one of the strongest healers in the series.
    2 AOE healing Arts, an AOE Crit Up, an Attack field, and 2 debuff Arts. That’s not even getting into her great Fusion Arts, which let her apply Crit Up + Crit Damage for insane synergy with Rex. Add onto that some excellent passives like faster revival, faster healing cooldowns, heals for every Art used, and just straight up huge boosts to her healing power. All of this on an Agnus class, who cools down by spamming Art cancels, and you have a character that can keep your party alive forever.
    Legitimately don’t know how you’d be able to beat any of the stronger enemies in FR without her.

    • @justsomeguyontheinternet2251
      @justsomeguyontheinternet2251 Год назад +15

      I agree that Glimmer is underrated. Her insane synergy with Rex makes her one of the best members of your party. I'd say she's 3rd behind Rex and Matthew, since Rex is the primary damage dealer and Matthew is the primary breaker/aoe power charge for the party. The only thing that's bad about her kit is that some of her animations are a bit too long, especially her talent art.

    One important thing to bring up about Tora that also pushes him over the edge as the strongest driver, no contest, is that he is the only driver in the game that can do a driver combo by himself. QT Pi gives him break and launch, QT gives him smash, and Alpha gives him topple. So while Alpha and QT are not busted on their own, they are useful because you can use luck mods to boost Tora's break chance, and give basically all the other passive mods on them like gold and item up, healing utility, etc so you can keep QT Pi DPS focused. So even without optimal gear for QT Pi, he really just needs a beta scope and an overclock bangle to be the strongest. And on top of his art which will heal him back to full, you can also give him the equivalent of the Avant Guard Medal (heal every time he crits) as just a passive on QT Pi, so he can also sustain himself without needing to use an accessory slot for it. If you hate Tiger Tiger you can always just sell all the spare parts you get from merc missions and craft good enough gear to get QT Pi going and she'll still be a monster.
    Alpha and QT are also better than people give them credit for. QT is at least as strong as Brighid, and Alpha with the right build can get a 98% block rate. It's just that even with a block rate that high, Tora's one weakness is he can die from reaction arts.

      I want Master Driver to be a class so that Kevesi classes can have its launch art and as a second art whatever.
      Grand Marshall should give Monado Rage and Armor and would add a new tank class.
      And I would love it so much if we'd get A as a last hero, with Monado Fencer as a class. The game would be perfect that way.
      Also am I the only one disappointed that we didn't get a hero system in FR? Was the perfect opportunity to add Reyn, Fiora, Sharla, Morag, etc. And a bonus : they could be playable too.
      Also imagine if the 6 main cast of FR had Ouroboros forms too, the fan service would be complete. Shulk x Rex Ouroboros together would've been so good.

    • @PJDAltamirus0425

      Well, I agree that would have been cool, the lack of Ouroboros forms, hero system and the XBC1 gang and XBC2 gang makes sense, gives the old crew drive to beat alvis and as the avatar help beat Zed. Having Ouroboros got developed yet makes Nia and Melia getting there asses handed to them, Melia getting captured and Nia in a hideway recovery sleep make more sense. In the final fight with Zed, one of the first things he does is flipping cut of the party from using the ouroboros forms. Also, Jesus, if you had Shulk's skill set on someone that in better at holding aggro, Rex's raw damage output combined with Lucky Seven or stacked lower output but higher survibility characters, and A's visions.... they would to create another difficulty level or challenge mode to balance it. TBH, I wouldn't surprised if they weren't working on either a side game or another xeno and that why XBC3's dlc is so spare compared to XBC2's.@@arminarlelt7471

    I'm going to shoutout Enel, and give a vote for Miyabi's Troubadour class in XBC3 as very close to Signifier. Ring o' Roses is an AOE effect that boosts art recharge rate. And if you pair this with Masha's the Ring a la Mode skill, you can drop a bunch of them, and they stack. Her talent art, Glittering Melody, also fully recharges all arts for the party. She's also one of the few classes with a burst art, which removes the enraged buff from boss enemies, provided they aren't break resistant. Lastly, her Swiftsong skill boosts evasion for all allies by 10-20%. So that's going to be a big boost to any evasion tank. Her talent art charges rapidly too, which will let Noah use Unlimited Sword quickly. Miyabi's chain attack skill isn't that great, but she does give a TP bonus to Mio (which is only useful if Mio isn't a healer class) if used in a chain, along with a chance to revive an extra party member.

  • @T101G
    @T101G Год назад +17

    Personally when discussing "whos the worst or best" in XC3, I find it more interesting to say "which is the best or worst class" because the only major thing that sets the characters apart is the fact that Noah has Unlimited Sword, and their TP in chain attacks.
    Worst class I would say is Stalker, because we all know debuffs suck, the art animations are super long, so Stalker has very low dps. Any Healer class is easily better because they can at least revive and do some sort of party support even if its not super helpful like tactician, which is probably the worst healer class (except maybe thaumaturge but that has Ultimate Qigong so i'll give it a pass). You could argue one of the defender classes is worse, either lost vanguard or heavy guard, but I think they have some extremely niche uses, I know you can fuse an evasion art to Variable Turret to have a very long animation in which to evade with, and Heavy Guard has a smash art, and also they are defenders so they'll die slower (I suppose you could pull a FR and give the defenders a memory locket), but I see no situation in which Stalker would be useful. Even if for some reason you wanted a debuff build (which might be a bit better on easy mode since debuffs are more consistent there), then just use Machine Assassin.
    Best class is tough. Signifer is good for buffs, but you can also just put resonant flag and aureole on a kevesi healer, which makes war medic, medic gunner, and lapidarist quite good. Soulhacker is also quite good because it can provide really good damage and really good support. Seraph is good at dealing lots of damage, and so is Incursor, and FMJ. This is honestly really tough, I kinda can't decide.
    Also another reason Rex is really good in FR is because he has a skill that completely ignores block rate, at all. Paired with the skill that ignores defence on crit, it means Rex is always doing really insane damage. That skill is extremely effective against Fogdwelller Abaasy, since it has an ability that makes blocked attacks deal 1 damage.

      @moosoose4661 Год назад +3

      I think soulhacker s the best class because in a party setup he is not really replaceable. In terms of support he far outclasses signifer (because his buffs are guaranteed with stuff like desperate charge and dragon decree) and you can just have another class use resonant flag on a lapidarist or something. You have many choices on what you want to use for damage, as a flagger, or whatever, but for support i would always have a soulhacker

      I'm going to contest you on FMJ. Being an ether attacker in a world where Ultimate Qigong exists is already a mark against it, but its abysmal critical chance of 10% also holds it back rather significantly. There is no possible way to reach 55% displayed crit (the threshold needed to reach 100% crit rate with just a Soulhacker buff and Beaming Edge) on FMJ without sacrificing additional accessories or skills for more crit. You are pretty much required to run Eye for Weak Points, which takes more time to stack up than some of the better classes take to kill superbosses.
      Now, if you enjoy the class, that's great! I enjoy it too, but I wholly admit that it has a combination of several factors that make it less desirable than other stronger attacker classes like Flash Fencer, Martial Artist, Incursor, Royal Summoner (which is technically a physical class and thus benefits from UQ hilariously enough), and the obvious Seraph.

      @@moosoose4661 Now that I think about it you're absolutely right. For buffs you can use signifer or any kevesi healer, for damage there are multiple options, but nothing is just as versatile as soulhacker is. Also it has the advantage of having access to all combo arts. This is the same reason I think Poppi QTpi is the best blade in XC2. In certain situations other blades will out dps her, but her sheer versatility is what puts her on top. That and having access to speedy sword, and on top of that having swooshing slash making her by far the best blade at driver combos.

    My vote for most overpowered xenoblade 3 character is whoever is on guardian defender. This is based on the fact in the DLC, you have ridiculously overpowered characters, and then you have Nikol, a nerfed version of guardian defender from the base game, because apparently having a tank which will never take agro but has such high damage reductive capability their self healing makes them physically immortal isn't fair, but a character with higher damage output than seraph without any of the self damaging drawbacks is.

    I think the best character in XCX (in terms of how useful they are when AI-controlled) comes down to a three-way tie between Irina, L, and H.B. As mentioned in the video, L is an excellent tank but also has self-healing and party support with Mindstorm and topple locking with both Wild Down and Starlight Kick (not that he has enough TP to use them a lot of the time). Meanwhile, Irina and H.B. both have access to the best ranged weapon in the game which comes with the best support art in the game - Last Stand. Pair that with an assault rifle that has Ranged: TP Gain Up and suddenly you have a TP generating machine on your hands.
    Irina has party healing with Smooth Recovery, can throw around TP and a Potential buff with Energy Source, can topple with Assault Hammer, and has access to Repair and Absorber Skin if you want more niche healing/barrier options, but she can’t take big hits very well. She’s most useful for a 2000-3000 TP bonus at the start of battle to instantly overdrive and take out your target.
    H.B. has better survivability and access to both Decoy Round and Trash Talk, so he has no problem keeping enemies occupied and generating a ton of TP from it. He has Shield Wall as a better barrier art (same as L) and access to Wild Down (but no Assault Hammer sadly). As niche options Atomic Hit can launch smaller enemies to keep them immobile for a few extra seconds, Takedown Shot is another topple against machines, and Furious Blast is another option for generating TP (this point also applies for Irina but to be honest neither AI is smart enough to wait for Furious Blast to cool down before throwing it out).
    Irina and L are best used in tandem, while H.B. combines their two roles into one if your team needs the extra space, at the cost of team healing options. Elma is also a good companion for Ghost Factory reasons, but the AI sucks at positioning so her damage output is middling at best.

    • @videogamesarecool9280

      Elma is by far the best AI controlled character because her AI actually uses ghost factory.
      back when global nemesis was a thing, the party build without online was cross, elma, celica, nagi.
      cross is cross, nuff said
      elma has a 160% potential boost just tied to her character, has ghost factory and AI uses it, and executioner is decent
      celica is knife + dual guns, broken combination, is by far the best character for soloing who's not cross, but in this party of 4 she's the weakest
      nagi has no real way to defend himself, so he relies on elma's ghost factory to be good, but he has offensive stance and blossom dance, best dps in the game.
      also assault rifle isn't the best ranged weapon in the game, very far from it.
      dual guns is the best by a very significant margin and maybe situationally gatling gun.
      I think MaxMonado made a very good choice in picking elma. (ignoring cross), 2nd best dps in the game when soloing (only beaten by celica), and 2nd best dps in the game when in a group (only beaten by nagi). elma's AI actually uses ghost factory, which is the only support that you need in the game.
      the speedrun for X, switches to elma before the first fight and solo everything with her until cross is max FMJ and the the speedrun solo's with cross.

    I think with signifier it's also worth mentioning that with the keves art cross impact paired up with resonant flag it grants power charge to the entire party... meaning if you have another signifier with Fiona, you can get two power charges meaning you could for example in a chain attack you could go resonant flag with signifier with the chain order of the attacker in your party A which is the Ouroboros party member, attack with your strongest art which is power charged by said attacker, use Fiona to reapply the power charge effect and with enough tp maybe get a bravo or amazing rating and here you go dealing a littlr bit too much damage.

    For XC1, Shulk is the standout for me because of how much utility he brings, but Reyn tends to be the strongest because of how fast and high-damaging his entire kit is. Reyn's only weakness is poor accuracy, but some Agility Up gems and/or Night Vision gems for superbosses can fix that up. Most importantly, he's one of the 3 members of the Topplelock strategy, alongside Dunban and either Shulk or Seven. But his high damage, high hp, and strong topplelock combo potential make him much better than Melia for me, who really can only Force topple and is a bit too fragile. Special mention for Reyn also because unlike both Shulk and Melia, Reyn doesn't have to be controlled to be effective, which leads me to...
    XC1FC: They really gave us a game where the 3 worst characters to control are 3 out of the 4 characters you can use didn't they? Shulk, Melia and "Sharla (Kino)," and the only other member who shows up is "Reyn (Nene)?" I think you'll understand why I put Nene at the top here. Having Reyn's kit means high damage, HP, and Topple combos (the survivability being even more important because you don't have Dunban, Riki, or Seven to do any kind of tanking), and of course, you don't have to control them, meaning you can focus on controling one of the other party members. Shulk still has good utility, but damn losing visions him quite a bit, and for Melia losing chain attacks hurt her quite a bit because she can't summon elementals for easy chain continuation.
    XCX: Cross, obviously. But if we discount him for a second, the conversation actually gets a bit more interesting. We have Elma, Celica, and Phog who all have Ghostwalker for amazing survivability, and Nagi who grants you 2 of the best arts in the game: True Stream Edge for great TP generation and Blossom Dance for way too much damage (there's a reason blossom dance longsword builds are so powerful). For support, L with Mindstorm can also be mentioned for helping boost your Potential even further. But of course, all conversation goes out the window when Cross shows up.
    XC2: Poppi QTPi is nuts. Just how much driver combo access you can have is unparalleled. The only contender I would say is like Elma because of Overdrive, or Fiora because of EZ arts spam. Also you could argue just Rex in general because he can access almost every other blade EXCEPT Poppi, which is really funny because he can get his hands on every single blade except the strongest one.
    Torna: I like your Addam call here, but you're right: all 3 of the drivers have talent arts that contribute something really important to the team, and it's funny how much stronger those Talent arts are than the Blades' talent arts.
    XC3: As overpowered as Infinite Sword may be, I want to actually make a case for another member of the Core 6: Sena. Obviously anyone can access the Ogre class, but Sena has her personal weapon for the class and the stats to use it best, and similar to why Poppi QTPi is the best party member in 2, Sena and the Ogre fill a niche in lategame content that other classes struggle to fill: She can get Breaks. Break resistance is nutso in the lategame of 3, and Ogre is the best class in the game for landing breaks while still providing a great amount of damage. But I'll admit, it struggles to match with how powerful infinite sword can be, I mean there's even an instant-kill chance to proc on normal and even elite enemies!
    XC3FR: Rex. It's Rex, and it's not even close.

      Thanks for sharing your perspective, I can agree with everything you said.
      Funny you say Nene is the best in FC because in an earlier version of this script I chose her as well.
      Like I said, I think Shulk, Melia and Nene are about as good as eachother. Nene has way better AI, but Shulk and Melly have higher potential when you're using them (which I think balanced it out). I specifically think Melia's topple art is good in FC, since some enemies resist break, but not topple

    • @android4754
      @android4754 Год назад

      Ogre is not the best breaking class. Its actually yumsmith which is actually one of the best classes despite being considered one of the worst. It is mostly because spamming 3 break arts is just as likely to break (especially when fusion comboed) as the Ogre's one skill that makes putting a break art on them good. Then Yumsmith frankly just has a better AI for breaks (unless you want to control your Ogre) and a way higher dex allowing the class to function as a breaker more consistently. You could also use Incurser, or Noponic Champion as other alternatives but the max number of break arts they can have is 2. Incurser would also provide far more damage than Ogre, but you really only need one damage character per team.
      Frankly Xenoblade 3 has been solved for a while and even saying Signifer is good (as the video did) is not true. All the broken skills and arts it has can be given to classes that use them far better. Infinite sword is pretty outclassed as a strategy and only used for a few challenge mode runs. But it is utility fully unique to Noah and thus it forces him to be the best character. Though, as the video stated that does not mean that much because every character is basically the same.

    L is pretty good but the psycho launchers kinda hold him back , he can be setup for reflect though but is still massively outclassed ....
    Lin is by far the best AI Controlled Character when setup for Reflect.
    Downside its tedious to find her all the Gear or farm for Augments with Reflect.
    Upside , if you went through the trouble to set it up right , even a AI controlled Lin can easily defeat every enemy in the game by herself.
    Also , when you play as Lin with a Reflect + Potential build you can also easily achieve infinite Overdrive thanks to her Gattling getting the hit counter up super fast. That way she can dish out an absurd amount of damage while simply being invincible thanks to her reflecting every kind of incoming damage.

    I can’t believe you didn’t mention Noah’s biggest selling point-although it doesn’t work on unique monsters or bosses, if Noah is in an attacking class, every single hit he lands has a 3% chance to **instantly kill** an enemy. Pair that with his most spammable art, which hits *seven* times and often recharges itself instantly after use, and you’ve got the most broken DPS character Monolith has ever made.

    I'm a late comer to XC after wiping out all of the late LOZ. Been studying all characters and find Melia to be the greatest contributor to the team. Her 'summon' buffs not only do their own damage, but they power up the damage the team deals and the effects go on for up to 30 seconds, then she can do the next summon. The con is that she goes down easy. Her low agro makes up for that weakness. And Fiora also has these devastating attacks like no one else. So, my favorite team is Melie, Fiora, Shulk. My least used characters are Reyn and Ricki.

    Funny thing: signifier I would say is the best Noah class
    Why? Well when you can chain your skills infinitely through a specific setup, you can build lucky 7 quickly. What happens when you get lucky seven ever 20 seconds - and take over healing for the team? Easy. Nothing can die.

    Tora and QTPi has always a bit divisive for me...
    There is NO doubt that she is in a class of her own at her max potential, but i can't shake the fact that i NEVER find it enjoyable to drop everything, and grind for several hours to get what i need to make her extremely powerful as soon as she is unlocked.
    Unless i plan to do NG+, or at least do all the postgame stuff, i pretty much just do the quest to get her, and then sideline Tora for Morag again... I just feel like the amount of game left where you get to use her, is not worth the investment to bring out her full potential in a pure main journey playthrough...
    So Rex always wins out for me, with his story locked access to increasingly broken versions of the Aegis, along with mandatory access to Break and Topple arts. And with no real effort on the players part, Pneuma trivializes most battles right out of the block, where QTPi takes a while and a ton of investment to become really broken!

    Every other placement is also good with a couple missed mentions - Masha is a completely insane hero and class in XC3 and Fiora in XC2 is one of the most broken blades in the game with infinite flicker crit heal spam which destroys most challenges in the game.

      Reyn solo-ing superbosses at level 1 is also not the best argument, especially since in those videos other characters topple the enemy for him so very can stand a chance

    You know, unpopular opinion, but for Future Redeemed, I'd make the argument it's actually Glimmer who's the strongest party member. Rex might kill everything quickly, but she's the main reason he can. She can make him go from mostly crits to guaranteed crits, make those crits go from 1.25x to 2x, gives him an attack buff field, and can instantly revive him when he inevitably goes down every 5 seconds only to instantly reapply all 3 of those buffs. Plus she can fully heal everyone else with a single art in the off chance Rex somehow doesn't have aggro.

    It's true that Rex makes an absolute broken damage, but I don't like that he receive the aggro every time, so I think that A is the best in Future Redeemed because she is a really balance character, she has a good attack, healing power and has a decent agility to evade some attacks and she doesn't take so much aggro, her Fusion Arts are really useful to increase allies agility, attack or give them regeneration and her Talent Art Vision is pretty useful to safe your team if you are so close to lose a fight and her Skills are really good: Quicksilver Blade boosts her damage every time that heals an ally; Live-Saving Sword that heals herself every time that hits an auto-attack and Armor Piercing that ignores 50% of the enemy's ether defense.
    A can make a really good damage, she is a really strong healer and has a good agility to evade some enemy attacks, that's why I think she is the best.

      Damage reduction is the best way to survive fights in Xenoblade 3, and stacking it is surprisingly easy. In Future Redeemed alone, we've got Nikol's defense buff (15%, can go higher with swelling blessing), Shulk and Nikol's unity skill (another 15%), and Rex's own Heroic Spirit skill (30%) for 60% less damage taken because dr stacks additively in Xenoblade 3. You could even throw a shield belt on Rex for another 30% damage reduction at the cost of -50% damage additive which sounds much worse for a damage dealer than it actually is. That's 90% damage reduction which is likely to lower enemy damage into the double digits, if not less.
      As for the aggro situation, that's unfortunately just a byproduct of the aggro generation mechanics HEAVILY favoring damage. The reason every tank clas that isn't Lone Exile sucks at their job is because they don't do enough damage to counteract how much your attackers are pumping out. Simply put, if you want to hold aggro, you need to be doing damage. It has been this way since Xenoblade 1, and it hasn't changed.

    Tbh, Xenoblade characters just aren't the most fun when there isn't some broken stuff to do with them. Sharla is the least practical character in 1, yet the postgame still has you spam thunder bullet everywhere for good DPS and shield bullet for soloing even the strongest secret bosses(Yes, this is actually a thing. It is hilarious for the story to be this usual JRPG epic that ends with fighting a god and the by far worst party member with barely any powers or abilities of her own just comes around the corner with a gun and keeps blasting). And on the upper peak of the spectrum, Dunban and Reyn make one ask why the Monado was ever even needed when it seems like they just needed to read some books and train. Even without taking the third partymember, this duo can:
    -Topplelock effectively(The conditional for dunban's break is easy. Also, Shulk can't do this particularly better since even though he can do every part of the combo, he is too slow to do all of them on his own, he needs at least one partner to reach Daze anyways.)
    -Use Daze consistently on anything not immune
    -Survive anything due to being tanks with arts that selfrevive
    -Ignore enemy evasion if it needs to happen because Dunban has an ether artscombo that forces Daze on anything not immune
    -Do crazy things in chain attacks because they both have a bunch of red arts
    -Remove enemy buffs
    -Give some valuable enemy debuffs
    I guess outside of dunban's regen aura they cannot easily heal themselves if they need to(which rarely happens), but that's easily fixed with Gems as they can easily outheal their injuries on a good enough setup(due to the fact that this situration rarely happens).
    5:27 This is slightly funny to say because Melia argubly loses more from the removal of stuff than Shulk does(Despite his Monado arts also being in a tough spot because the mechanics they were designed for...largely no longer exist). The major reason she could just kill anything dead was because the times 5 multiplyer applied to DoT, making it tick crazy to 0 HP very fast. She also had assistance from mr. Heropon whose DoT effects for some reason stack with hers despite being effectively the same. And it's not like she didn't get an L from visions being removed, it makes it harder to time reflect.
    10:20 Dunban: *insert stonks-meme*
    12:35 Another aspect to it that I realized over time is that if an enemy is inflicted with Break, then they Pokemon-flinch and their current action is cancelled. This is not too vital or reliable because you can't re-break during the duration unlike 1, but it's just a neat thing that makes Speedy Sword the slightest bit better, because it totally needed more value somehow.(And yes, I was legitimately surprised that Break has an effect on its own in this game, even if it's minor.)
    21:32 Monolith:"Dagmara in challenge mode having Heavenly Disrupt for no reason wasn't enough, let's give it to the player too!"
    23:15 Double spinning edge.

    • @MaxMonado
      @MaxMonado  Год назад

      Reyn and Dunban were the runner-ups for a reason, they're really broken. I think Shulk is just more of a team player than the two of them, while sacrificing very little damage output.
      As for Shulk's and Melia's nerfs in FC, as you said some of his Mobado arts lose value, and both his topple and daze art are worse too because like you said, they're too slow (which wasn't a problem with chain attacks)
      Melia misses chain attacks too, but she gains value since starlight kick is the only reliable way to topple enemies with high break resist. I found that most enemies also have big wind up animations for the strongest attack giving me enough time to use reflect
