I have been trying to understand for so many years why I have had such great challenges in social interaction, I only recently discovered how huge of a role shame has played in my life and self image and why I have isolated and developed fears around people/connection over the years. All of it is pointing back to what you’re saying in these videos. Also I’m diagnosed with ADD and my therapist says I have CPTSD as well. So it all adds up.
This is very validating for me. Thank you so so much. It’s hard trying to figure this out and have the motivation to live but information like this helps me feel less invisible in my pain and challenges and gives me hope.

I have been diagnosed with ADHD this year and I am 28 years old (f)
I have always struggled with extreme emotional response when I fail to understand what people are explaining to me or not be able to do something after trying many times in a row in front of others
I have been rejecting trying things (for example bowling or ice skating, playing a card game) i uncontrollably start crying and today after years of digging in my head I think I finally realized that the embarrassment is extremely painful and I feel like a burden to others or simply perceive myself as stupid or not good enough so I just say no to things. I can’t hide or stop the tears when I try to fight them and do something anyways. And then can’t stop crying for a good 20 minutes or more, so I try to leave before anyone notices cause I don’t wanna draw attention to myself. I have not been able to identify why I have to cry until today
As a child the I always cried and ran away. Too afraid to participate in a game with other kids, joint a contest etc

Is RSD its own diagnosis or is it a feature of another diagnosis?

    • @jasoncerrotalks2655

RSD is not an actual diagnosis. William Dodson coined the term when he discovered that many of his patients with ADHD all had a similar subset of symptoms largely related to their ADHD symptoms. So essentially its a feature of ADHD but I also see this feature in people without ADHD as well.

@@jasoncerrotalks2655seeing as adhd can from trauma , gabor mate speaks of this, then rsd is also a truama response?
