4 Steps for Adult ADHD Treatment That Works
I clicked on this thinking "oh great I'm a narcissist" but it's given me such relief. And clarity. I now know My mother is a vulnerable narcissist. (Based on the part about rumination)
Omg this is scary how accurate... wow
been there!
I am rarely a victim or a prosecutor, but I am sure a rescuer most of time. My attitude is I know it all, and I can help you to understand your blockages and move them away for you. Argh. How frustration. I annoy myself.
Yea a lot of this is true. Yes the narcissist exaggerates this but in a lot of case as youve said, these feelings are legitimate most of the time. As far as the praise and appreciate and compensation part
Hmm the interesting thing is that these feelings could actually be true and are true in many cases.
yesss 🫶🏼💓
I'm not diagnosed but have upcoming interview I'm obsessed with the perfect outfit I didn't know this was a thing..
💯 Spot on summary 💯
Sugar spikes create a feeling of very tacky glue that slows my processing
This comment section makes me cry. I hate this for all of us.
The audio after the intro is only coming out of the left speaker
this is the worst pain especially when the person moves on to a new relationship it reinforces the rejection and adds to the ongoing pain
Thank you for a very informative and easy to understand teaching. Also, I love the sign in the lower right corner, "Be where you are" Awesome. Blessings, Karl
As the name suggests.... I have learned to sit and stare in silence... The power is unparalleled. Big love 🙏🃏♥️
It's just a symptom of childhood neglect/trauma.
I’ve had such bad stress and anxiety since being a kid I grew up in a stressful and traumatic environment and would always throw up when I would be stressed and it’s boiled over into my adult life and I wish I could get it under control . It’s such a bad feeling. Especially being a parent to , I fear for the future and unknown and that alone makes me sick going places , having party’s big events all get me down . I want to be better for not only myself but my kids. I need to find a doctor who will actually listen and not just medicate me.

Am I correct that this includes sensitivity to, for example, experiencing discipline or correction from an employer or teacher?
Yes, Shame prone sensitivities
My friend perceived I don’t want to hang out with her because I made a new friend but it’s not like that they are very different and so I dint introduce them the friend with adhd pushed me away and I was wondering what only happened . She has adhd and I was so baffled I want to address adhd with her but wonder how will she take it
I am in a similar situation as your friend. If I was your friend just a simple message reaching out and asking what happened, and that you thought you guys always had a connection. If it makes you sad that you don't speak tell them that...they might struggle to believe you but that would be a good way to start
Mostly spot on. Sounds very clinical and with the tone of a 60s documentary. Maybe a little less of the expert Spock tone would help to connect with the audience who is not a clinical psychologist
Have you considered that many autistic people appreciate this format - whether or not they are clinical psychologists.
Awww so sad 😢😢. I desperately hope my daughter never feels this about me xxx
I don’t like the second conversation either. I would just accommodate and be chilled about everything. I wouldn’t even ask why change of plans or mention about not seeing eye to eye with new wife etc. just let children enjoy themselves and make their plans for their life and fit in around them if at all possible if you can’t just explain and make other arrangements . She should gave just said have. Lovely time with Dad and Stephanie and I’ll see you later I’ll switch things around can’t wait to see you later. Never make you kids feel bad for their choices
Omg the second conversation is well over the top too.
Brain fog, cant comprehend basics forgetting what your doing
This video perfectly describes me and my experiences. Thanks for this!
What do u think causes dyslexia? I've always known I'm different although I've tried badly to just fit in.exercuse helps me a lot

Having an ADHD brain is like having two sides coin. You get creativity, out of the box mind, whereas on the other sides you are suffering from too much thinking and hypersensitivity. Your brain often sabotage your daily life and tasks. All my life I'm searching for the button to pause my brain activity. My brain is like a bustling city road in the developing country. I wanna have 'the spotless mind', sometimes.
I have it and it’s not a superpower like many idiots say. It’s debilitating
yeah that's me, thanks
Start taking people off the pedestal and see we are all equal because we are all human we all make mistakes and uniquely different. Work on building that self acceptance, self validation because thats what leaves cuts in the soul they are like wounds that havnt been dressed part of the needs from our parents we didnt get but we can get it from God or ourselfs. Yes God is real and he longs to heal deep wounds of rejection.
Let people say no. Saying no doesnt equal rejection it is about their boundaries. But never reject yourself because thats why it cuts soo deep because you end up rejecting yourself your own emotions you sided with the abuser when you were a child thats why you turned your emotions inside and on you and viewed them as bad. Let other people say no or reject you because its a healthy sense of acceptance. I accept myself first even if people reject me that way i can never lose myself to something of i deeply can accept myself and work on my inner acceptance its the undoing and inbecoming its showing people the real side of you broken sad unperfect cause thats you while healing but that part of you wants to be seen cause its in the seen that you gain acceptance then you start to learn to acceptance yourself by unbecoming and doing what your parents shamed you for doing like crying
Oh the first sentence ❤❤❤
I am intrigued with your statement that 50% of CEOs have ADHD. Any sources for that?
This new word combination is very interesting, but yet again there can be many reasons for many of these. I'd like to know more about differentials, since most of those can be explained by trauma, being sensitive, anxiety as you mentioned and else. I feel like I'm super slow at tings, yet I don't feel too neurodivergent bc I get typical people.
I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. It’s caused so much intense pain throughout my life.
Yeah, me too.. I’m 48 and I’ve only just discovered adhd and rsd.. it explains everything. It’s very difficult to process the past because I’m stuck there. It wasn’t easier in the past, and it isn’t easy now, but the mind tricks you into mourning the past. Well that’s my experience anyway. I suppose the upside is that we have a chance to escape this nightmare. I hope you find peace
ADHD is a strength. Niger is fleeting. I too busy to argue. Let me go make something. I can accomplish a multitude of things. I love having conversations with ADHD. We can jump from subject to subject and keep up with each other. Typical functioning tell us to focus, I think, they need to catch up.
I'm 58 and this describes my entire life. In my 30s I started therapy 2x/week and went for six years and it helped somewhat. However, a few job layoffs and horrible bosses made me want to retreat and avoid, and I've lived the past decade or more working from home, barely scraping by after being a highly paid management consultant because I felt like a total failure. I teared up listening to this because I have never heard my feelings and reactions described so well. They affect every area of my life and I feel like I constantly live in victim mode. Thanks for this because now I feel like I have a new direction to go in terms of better navigating my life and feeling so much shame because of rejection sensitivity.
To me, youre brave for being able to articulate this. Do some Shame work, which entails looking at the fear of being flawed and therefore not good enough, not worthy of love, and disconnected from others.
very informative!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Does people with adhd experience world differently than neurotypical people. Does they feel same about the world or is it just the regulation of emotion and distraction which is hard to control for them?
No they dont look through the same lens. To give you an exemple: take a quiet lake, you have some task to do but 15mn of contemplation of this lake will not trow you out of planning. If you're typical you can focus only on the beauty of the lake and keep at bay : your planning Meal The children playing around The dog pooping Your clothes sensation Etc etc And 15mn have passed you moove on with your life , good for you. Now take on adhd for the same 15mn.... Add all the stimulus above that they can't keep at bay, add a loud train of toughts on the list, and 45 mn after begin running cause your are late for your appointment. In bref Timeblindness Non stop toughts No possibility to filters the noises sensation or your attention Some time physical restlessness And yes i forgot you easily jump from complete excitation and joy to deep depression some time 3 time during the day or weekly especially when you forgot to eat properly.
And its only a brief and incomplete recap 😅
@@tom17777 ADHD in a month will experience evil chain like this: overjoy, burning out, extreme depression, normal mode, overjoy, etc ADHD in a day : - mood swinger - have difficulties in deciding something, even for trivial matters like choosing menu at restaurant or choosing what to wear daily. -overanalyze, sometimes lead to wild (negative) imagination before checking the fact. Often see the world in black and white rules. So they often disgust by people behaviour that don't live their expectation. Example: ADHD children may hate their parents for a lifetime because they don't live up to their expectation. They expect the adults to be fair, hold justice and wise. Meanwhile in reality the parents have been controlling, invading privacy, giving unfair punishment etc (in POV of ADHD children). Meanwhile, the parents don't feel anything. They think everything they do is normal and follow custom. But ADHD children perceive the world in complicated manner. - overthinking. Some people choose to keep their thoughts in the dark. Afraid about the negative impact of verbal/non-verbal message. Meanwhile, some of them just can't keep their mouth shut to let out their wild thoughts that end up bringing disaster. Try to talk with talkative ADHD, you'll know everybody dirty laundry in neighborhood. ADHD person is quick to spot flaws on human being. -afraid of rejection. This negative feeling overshadowing ADHD daily life. It makes them hard to start anything, overly reluctant to ask help from others, avoid close contact and romantic relationship. This negative feeling culminated into 'defeated already before the fight'. In every competition/tes they attend, they feel like they don't deserve to win. And even if they do, they think they just get lucky, not because their ability/performance. Being consistent and stay in focus ADHD is nearly impossible. Too much distraction. As example: Main task: take a bath in the morning When you walked to the bathroom, you happened to see dirty dishes on the basin. Your brain was intriguied and sending message to wash the dishes first before taking shower. Because those dirty dishes are unpleasant to see. Then, after washing dishes done, your brain was intriguied again by the bathroom floor. You suddenly had the urge to clean the bathroom floor. And then, taking shower took a lot of time which resulted in being late at work.
My wife has RSD; I have my own trauma I work through, so it’s difficult for me too on another level. It’s very disheartening.
Do we have any details on the differences in the patients of the two images in terms of age medication? Is there anywhere I can find the research?
I feel rejected constantly, i make up scenarios in my head and when it happens in real life i see that as proof. My friends are cool but i alwYs make up scenarios as to why they havent messaged me yet or why i havent been invited somewhere when other friends in same social group are invited. Am i crazy? I dont know but i get super anti social during this thoughts and things get progressively worse untill i say something, then i feel guilty for bringing it up feel like an idiot then the cycle begins again after a few months. Hate being like this
You’re not crazy, you’re ruminating. Rumination is an aspect of depression and the main feature of OCD. Your core fear centers around not being worthy, disconnected and rejected. The biggest thing you’re dealing with is Shame. Check out Brene Browns work on Shame and guilt.
This was 100% my narcissistic mother. Accusing me and my dad (the people she abused) of "ganging up" on her, constantly bringing up ancient history - things that happened years, or even *decades* earlier in arguments to prove how much of a "victim" she was, taking issue at tiny changes to schedules. One of her favourite trickes was to deliberately make us late for things, and wait for her- and then turn it around and try to blame us for being late.
Yay I’m not a narcissist! That last quote was chefs kiss 😘
I think many neurodiverse folks experience this.
