  • In Part 1 of this series - • Laser Engraver Easy Wa... - I showed you how simple it is to design your own custom waste board for your hobby laser engraver directly in Lightburn in only a few minutes.
Now that we have the Lightburn file ready to go, it's time to make it happen.
In this video I run through:
    1. The steps to setup your waste board
    2. The reasons you might want to have a seperate waste board.
    3. How you can make sure that you can perfectly position and align your laser every time, even with your eyes closed.
I hope you find this video helpful and takes you a step closer to achieving your laser engraving goals.
Here is the link for the 3D design Ortur Laser Master 3 base mounts shown in the video.

Awesome video Darren! I "stumbled " across your part one video several days ago and was totally impressed! As a result, I have indeed subscribed to your channel. Keep doing what you are doing and don't fall victim to the materialistic side of creating content as so many others have. Learning is why most people grace RUclips and good solid teachers are a commodity and you are among them. Please do your best to produce part three of this series as quickly as possible. I'm in anticipated waiting like I would be for a good mini series! "Be creative" and I am "grateful!" Blessings brother!

Thank you Tim - what a wonderful compliment to receive - I’m in the planning phase of Part 3 - I’m looking forward to getting that done in the coming days. I am learning as I go, and happy to share my findings along the way (before I forget 🙂)

I am so pleased I was lucky enough to stumble across these 2 video's Darren, being new to both laser engraving and Lightburn I need all the help I can get lol.
And it's nice to find a fellow Aussie as well, means I don't need to convert banana's to metric and I know I can find any materials locally.
Looking forward to watching the rest of your video's

Good deal. My channel is a wood turning channel but I have been asked to try a number of laser machines out.
This was the first I tried and I am very impressed with it.

    Bob
    Hi Darren
i have just recently purchased an Ortur LM3 and I followed your video ( which by the way is brilliant) and drew up the grid but when I went to burn it the laser kept going up and down one side and I get a notice come up saying G code locked out during alarm or jog state and a pop up box saying cut might be out of bounds. I'm just wandering if by chance you would know what I'm doing wrong

PS sorry I forgot to mention it does frame OK

Hi Bob - thanks for watching - one thing that springs to mind is the overscan setting for the text/fill layers that may cause out of bounds - if you change the text to line and see if it gives you the same warning
