Many thanks to you! I have had a rotary for 1 year and I had never managed to configure it correctly until I came across your tutorial :D You saved my project of the day
Best tutorial on rotary setup so far. I last used mine a year ago and it was a pain to do, and i'm sure far more complicated. This ws a doddle and worked perfectly apart from my machine just stopping during the burn for no reason, and 2 glasses ruined, but that was either an Atomstack or Lightburn issue i think.
Another great video my friend. I noticed at 7:24 you were etching the white coffee mug without anything sprayed on the mug and getting the black Mellowpine LOGO. Do you mind telling me your Speed/Pwr LPI settings for the black logo on the white mug?
Thank you so much. I used white spray paint on a white coffee mug which is why you couldn't see the coating. I used 80% power at 65 mm/s and 254 LPI on my 20W diode.
Super helpful video! Just assembled and started running my new Atezr L2 24W with roller rotary and Lightburn. Newbie question 1: Any advice on how to properly set the Origin (current position? user? absolute?) so I can avoid crashing into the rails. Second question: how does Home work when the rotary is in use? Thanks so much.
Hi i have a part at which I need number 0,1,2,3 . In current I am doing this operation in two stage I. e. Two number one time two number lasered in another stage. So i want all 4 no in an one stage. With low cost
On the rollers mine crept forward. I put a large split pin through and spread the pin so it contacted with the edge of the tumbler and stopped that. It also somehow steadied it too.
Your video was very informative. Thanks I am new to engraving. I purchased a creality falcon2 22w. I'm trying to engrave a softball. I set-up the rotary laser. When I go to frame it doesn't frame the same as the test ln laser tool. Can you help? Thanks in advance
You should be able to calibrate your rotary using the steps in the video. But if your laser frames properly during the test and doesn't frame the same after you exit the rotary setup, then make sure you have Rotary Enabled in LightBurn after closing the Rotary Setup window.
Started engraving tumblers after a hiatus of 4 or 5 months and for some reason my OLM3 and their rotary chuck is not engraving properly. My file measures 60 x 30 and when it engraves it measures about 170 x 15 . It also frames at this size. I have used my PC as well as 2 different laptops and still get the same results. Since I have 2 of the Ortur OLM3, I also used it, again same results. I have tested the rotation and it shows it to be 96. Some people say it should be 120 but the results are the same. When I take the file and engrave a flat surface, the results are ok. Somewhere there is a setting that is wrong. Any ideas?
More or less the same but it would be good if you could use low speed settings on rotary. Say you engrave at 40% and 20mm/s on a rotary you can lower it to 20% at 10 mm/s. High speed can produce jerky movement in some cases.
Okay, so I just got my Longer Rotary roller in the main and lightburn won't allow the test or print. LaserGRBL does, however its not printing properly. Why can't Lightburn allow the rotary to be set as active (Enabled)?
I've watched your video over and over and when I press start on my Lightburn app (Gwieke Cloud Pro 2), the red error light immediately turns on. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Please help me troubleshoot :)
For glass bottles a CO2 laser would be easier. However, if it is not a production environment you can make do with a diode laser. For steel, a fiber laser is the ideal choice but diode can put marks on steel as well. If it's coated metal, any laser can remove the coating to put your design on the material. You can choose any laser that has a rotary accessory support.
I have my rotary connected to my laser but when I got to the rotary setup it wont let me click the ok button or the test button. Do you have any ideas or pointers you are able to give me?
6:40 *NEVER have it spin back and forth, you're just asking for trouble and a ruined piece. See how the glass bounces in this video? Be SURE to use FILL (raster draw) instead of Offset Fill (vector format). This will minimize the rotary motion.*

Thank you, this helped a lot. Supper confused about “mirrored” images, turning on or off does not always help. Masking tape idea definitely s game changer!
your the only person that explained the setting perfectly thank you so much.

I got my first klaser just couple months ago... and everything I know is because if this guy and this channel. Thank you so much.

Nice tutorual that got me started very easily.
excellent description, going to try it tonight, engraving some beer mugs
Very helpful video in a very useful format. Thanks!!
Glad you liked it. 😊
*EXCELLENT VIDEO!!*
thank you for the video! big help, it is much appreciated!
Nice work Mellowpine
Thank you for the appreciation 😊

@@MellowpineLasers Thank you sir! What did you have to use to remove the paint?
I didn't let the paint dry for too long, some 10 minutes and engraved it. It came off with some paint thinner.

6:35 *Be SURE to position the piece at the edge, or with some kind of block. This will avoid the piece creeping downhill because of gravity!*

What if it completes one full rotation one way but when it goes the other way it's short?

Disregard the above. Had a senior moment and did not turn enable rotary, only turned on chuck.
Will the laser power parameters be the same for different materials if using rotary setup?

But you should try to keep a good balance or else your engraving time would be longer

Hi,
Are you facing the issue only when using the rotary setup in LightBurn or do you face the same issue in the Gweike Cloud software as well?
Hi Sir ,
Can you please tell me which machine is best for bottle and steel

I plan to buy a sculpfun Pro Max S30 20 W with rotary. It can work please suggest.

Of the top of my head, it might be because the wiring configuration is wrong.
