That's about as thorough a review as I've ever seen, great one Vic, still loving that height adjust table though, brilliant idea.

Ha, thanks mate. The bed lift was so useful for using the rotary 👍🏼👍🏼

A week too late! I made a small baseball bat on my lathe as part of a "trophy" for my Grandson. I was wishing there was a way to engrave it but my CNC only does flat surfaces. Now I know it can be done. Thanks Vic!

Hey mate, sounds like your grandson would have loved the ‘trophy’ as it was. The rotary does open up many more options 👍🏼

The phrase "Kid in a candy store" spring to mind. I would be exactly the same mate. 😂👍👍👍

I know you don't do many review style vids on this channel Vic, but when you do, mate they are comprehensive. Top stuff

Thanks mate. Yes true, I don’t like doing reviews and this one took a bit of time with all the Lightburn screenshots but I really wanted the rotary tool for my laser.

Great video! I just purchased the Sculpfun RA Pro Max rotary and can't wait to give it a try. I feel more confident after watching your video! Thanks for making it.

Nice video mate! Greetings from Texas!
I have a very similar rotary that I bought and added a driver to work with my UV laser.
If you haven't figured it out already, 12 oz cans make perfect test subjects as you perfect your settings and learn.
    Keep up the great work!

Ha, Vic, you did the EXACT same thing I did. I have a drink bottle in my workshop with the word 'test' inverted. 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks so much for this! Really helped me get going right out of the box. The “user origin” tip was especially helpful. I’ve never used that feature. Glad you pointed that out. Another thing I worked out (by way of error) is the Job Origin tab. It’s also good to know in what part of the design/job the laser will be starting from - and then what direction it’ll be heading to. Thanks again!!

That was a pretty solid review.
I was going to say "that looks like the sort of thing that you could have many hours of fun with" but you said it yourself a couple of times at the end :(

Yeah mate, it was a fairly easy learning process despite, with a bit of fun and frustration thrown in but all good in the end 👍🏼

Do you think it would be possible to use the chuck at an angle to engrave turned bowls?

    • @DownUnderWoodWorks
      @DownUnderWoodWorks  2 месяца назад +1

Possibly depending on the size of the bowl. I showed how the chuck can be angled in the video
