Great video thank you so much ! I just ordered the same machine 10W. A tips for you, you get get rid of those extra burn around your engraving with white vinegar…. Greeting from Paris
Great video Paw Paw! Hey, when you notice your settings are off, go to the Move tab while it's streaming and you'll be able to adjust the speed and power on the fly!
PawPaw, Your JTech laser had an output for air assist on the controller. I use air assist on mine and it is automatic. I choose weather I want air or not in lightburn for each layer and it is automatic. That being said, this looks like a super laser too. I recently upgraded to the newest jtech laser and machine, and I really love the results.
Papa that was an amazing video, know I want one, I found it on Amazon for $699 but it had a $110 discount just don't know if 699 was before or after the discount, I have a 10 w comgrow z1 but this one looks much better. Love your channel and your work. Take care my friend and love you. God bless you and your family and our entire RUclips family 👪 ❤️ 🙏 💙 ♥️ 💜 👪
That looks like a really nice size of honeycomb bed for that model of laser. Do you happen to have a link to that bed? I like that it's steel so that magnets can stick to it. It's nice to have a magnet option to hold down material. Is the perimeter also steel?
Greetings Paw Paw. I am a subscriber of your channel and I have seen your videos, which are very good, although I do not understand English correctly. But, I have a question: What is the function of the M8 key in the Air Assist settings, since, in the Cuts/Layers window there is already the "Air" tab to turn on the Air Assist in each Layer independently, as you said? Thanks
I notice you use the Lightburn soft ware. Also a week or so ago you tested the Ortur Laser Master 3. Did you use Lightburn on it as well? I am trying to get the Master 3 to link up with Lightburn and am having troubles. I think I downloaded the newest driver but still a no go. Which driver did you use? It does run using the LaserGrbl. Thanks for any help with this, Gary
I designed and 3D printed a flexible hose holder support for the coupler from the air unit and the hose and along the hose, out of TPU filament, works a treat
Papa, I have been seriously looking into getting one of these and want to congratulate you for being the first to show this machine first hand. Great video! I do want to confirm, is this the S30 Pro 10W or the S30 Pro Max 20W? Also, did yours come with the replaceable lens? Thanks again for your videos, you are a great Mentor.
For those that are wondering like me what is laser power 10w or 20w stop video at 2:13 and in yellow bar it reads max power for laser is 10w . Thought I point that out .
Great video as looking at buying one of these. I noticed in the video you said that the cutting layer (the red layer) you said to turn Air Assist On but then you toggled the switch to the off position so was just wondering what it should be? Many thanks.
Apologies! I'd stopped the video to comment when I saw that. Should have continued watching as just saw that you had it turned on in the end. Thanks again for such an informative video.
I put my sculpfun together, connected it to lightburn and everything seemed fine but when I went to run it, the laser does not move. I can push it but it can't move on its own. It makes a noise like it is trying to but can't. Does this sound like a belt issue? Too tight, too loose? I put them in according to the directions and the treads are over the gears but not pushing the laser to move. Do the "treads" need to be going a certain way? Any idea what the problem might be?
Great video sir. I am new to the laser community, but I do have 2 3d printers. I was wondering where a person would get the files for engraving, like you have in your library? Keep up the great work and I look forward to your new videos.
I just bought this laser and should receive it next week. I'm a beginner and thought this would be a good starter laser for me and quite honestly should fulfill all my needs. I'm trying to decide where to set it up. I had thought I would put it in the garage, covering it when not in use but I see you are in a room. Can these be used in the house? I would put it in my basement if not in the garage but wonder about proper ventilation. What are your thoughts?
The climate is important. I live in a high humidity area which is rough on belts and other parts. You need good ventilation. Engraving inside the house is not recommended. At the very least you need a window to get the smoke and smell out of the room. In the basement is most likely the best again you will need a way to ventilate the room.
Hi Paw Paw's workshop , I looking into get a laser and have been looking at them for a while . My question is it look's like you have had xtool engraving laser why did you go to Sculpfun . I see you have I believe S9 also . What made you go to Sculpfun if you don't mind say I have looked at both but after your video leaning towards Sculpfun because it looks like you can up grade this machine easier and make it larger . I hope you see this and respond back on what you like and didn't like such as maybe software any help I appreciate it .
Congratulations on wanting to get into this hobby. I have three lasers that I like the most. The xTool, Sculpfun and the FOXAlien. All are excellent and have strengths and any one of these would be excellent. I do like the RA2 Pro rotary by xTool the best. It should work on any of the lasers listed
I actually would have like to seen you correlate the board position. I realize the laser went where you wanted when you touched the ballon but how did you make the wood where you wanted? I did not see a grid you had a honeycomb underneath. I saw the scale and that was all. Everytime I see someone use that feature, positioning the board to where the laser goes is always left out. In other words, its the simple things that are assumed but never showed.
Sir I want to buy laser machine sir kindly guide me which one should I go for as I am from india and we have limited option/availability of laser engraving machine here so I want you to which one shall I buy out of which are available here currently 1.sculpfun S30 pro Max 20 watt. 2.Atomstack X20 Pro 20 watt. 3.Outur Laster Master 3 Special Edition.
Its a 10 watt - I had to take a screenshot from the video and enlarge it to find that out. Would have been nice to have some more basic specs of the machine, otherwise a good intro video.

Thank you very much. Yes, that is a great idea. I usually do that more off camera. Sometimes I think I might confuse people.
Very cool to watch it work. I've scoured the web comparing engravers and I'm thinking Sculpfun is the way to go for me.
Awesome! I bought the S30pro!!!
Excellent choice. I’m sure you’ll like it

In most cases you should not have to enter into the gcode section of the software. The air assist setting should turn this on for you in the gcode.

Do you have a video explaining how you got all your library settings for thickness and darkness?
Yes, it is in the laser playlist

Good video, is the air assist just on and off or can you adjust the pressure ? Do you use air assist for engraving?
It all depends on the machine. Some are connected to the machine and controlled by the software while others are a simple on/off.
Great video sir. I am new to the laser community, but I do have 2 3d printers. I was wondering where a person would get the files for engraving, like you have in your library? Keep up the great work and I look forward to your new videos.
Most of my files I made. As far as the 3D STL, just Google 3D STL. Also Etsy, I got mine from Vectric who produces VCarve and Aspire software

What power laser, what thickness of wood, and how many passes to cut through it please?
did the friend try to cut transparent acrylic?
I cut the acrylic with the cnc
I bought one, begin 2024, and they've replaced the plastice airassist-hose for a rubber one.
That’s awesome. I think that is an excellent upgrade
Haven't been online lately but looking to upgrade from Sculpfun S9, Would recommend a laser for around 800, with atleast 10w power. Thanks Paw Paw
I would suggest a unit with at least 20 watts or greater.
Thank you PawPaw, that is exactly what I was thinking. @@PawPawsWorkShop
Thanks 👌🙏
You’re welcome 😊
How do i change my image to cut certain lines and shade other lines like you do in your video? Like to make some lines red and some lines blue?
Just put them on different layers. The you chose line or fill
hey there everytime i send home it doesnt stop... and tries to keep going.. any suggestions?
It’s not hitting the limit switches or there is a problem with the wiring to the switch
I’m want to get into laser engraving but can’t get light burn at this time do you recommend any of the free programs to start with?
You can start with laserGRBL. It’s free with many of the lasers
@@PawPawsWorkShop that you for the help on which program to go with
Where can I download the software? I imported SCULPFUN-S30 PRO 10W, but I can't use it.Help! Please!
You can go to Lightburnsoftware.com to get the software to run the machine.
@@PawPawsWorkShop
Thank you for your answer. Can I download and use the software for free?
You can get a trial version and try it out. The software is only $60. Tremendous value for what it does
Amazing
Thanks

Thank you very much
You didn't even link the laser? Is xtool better?
Waiting for the proper link from the manufacturer
Sir I want to buy laser machine sir kindly guide me which one should I go for as I am from india and we have limited option/availability of laser engraving machine here so I want you to which one shall I buy out of which are available here currently
1.sculpfun S30 pro Max 20 watt.
2.Atomstack X20 Pro 20 watt.
3.Outur Laster Master 3 Special Edition.
Wow, great choices all three. I really like the Sculpfun S30.
How can i etch metal? Is there a button i have to hit?
It’s all about feed rate and power. A diode laser will not engrave all metal
I am not sure to buy this engraver or the ortur laser master 3 . Do you have an advice for me ?
I bought the sculpfun S30 pro, works so great!
Poderia testar com MDF ou no seu pais nao tem
Is that a 10 or 20 watt laser? Will you do more reviews of this laser? Thanks for all the videos you do.
