Good stuff. I'm new to engraving (5w laser) and going to try slate coasters, for personal use (at first). I was expecting $20 for a set of 4 but your profit margin is awesome - congrats. My question is do you have to lacquer them? Do you need to do that to preserve the engraving or is it just for getting that shine on them? Either way, thanks for the video.
Thanks for the question! I clear coat them for the exact reasons you mentioned. I got some slate coasters as part of a whiskey set that were laser engraved and over time the image on the coasters faded with use. I figure the clear coat would help to prevent fading and enhances the image contrast. Good luck with your laser. I am planning more laser engraving videos, are there any other topics you might want covered in videos?
Watching now and listening to you
