Why's it so hard to find a goth clique now? I was born in the wrong time, I would've been awsome at being a 90s goth.... Cool vid btw

We had mix-tapes like crazy. Also, being Goth back then wasn't all that great. It was difficult to get a job (outside of a record or second-hand clothing store). Cops harassed us. We didn't have the internet to buy clothing from. And finding other Goths, if you didn't live in a city, was almost impossible.

My mother was very much part of the goth culture in the 90’s (in Salem, MA) and still is to this day! Though, she was more on the metal side of the spectrum, befriending many of the bands that would come around (Danzig, type o negative, Sepultura, gg allin and even a lot of black metal bands). She was only 18 when she had me but definitely raised me right and exposed me to the music, people and style from a very young age. I have some amazing memories growing up in the 90’s with her and many of her friends that would always entertain me and listen to some “dark, scary and heavy” music with me...even though it wasn’t the most conventional childhood, I loved it and wouldn’t trade those memories for anything.

This made me kind of sad. I really miss the 90s ... Coffee shops and cemeteries, staying up till dawn, Duran Duran's the chauffeur on vinyl ....

I was 23 when The Crow came out in the theatres. I started listening to Siouxsie in '86 while in high school. The rest of the 90's was a blur of darkness, intrigue, and beautiful music in goth. It really was an amazing decade. I feel because people took it to heart. I don't wish to put down those younger people now but it has changed with the expansion of the internet. Goth has become less of a mystery and more of a cosplay.

I realized this morning that my goth "phase" is now old enough to drink. This is EXACTLY what it was like to be a goth in the '90s. Thank you so much for this!

It must've been awesome. I'm a goth now, I'm the only goth in school, when I tell someone about goth they're like "isn't it an aesthetic?" There's no one who knows what goth music is, people call me a satanist, it must've been pretty nice having people your kind with you. I'm jealous 🖤

This was off the charts because it examined everything. The dance slayed, the makeup so on point and the candelabra giving the whole scene a subtle nuance.

back in the 90's we used to consider Joy Division goth... now they're considered "indie" ..yuk!

Ah, I love that Blood and Gold quote! It's sad, but true, that things just aren't the same as the old days. The magick remains in the memory, I suppose, and hopefully in a few special, far off places.

Oh wow, that made me sooo nostalgic for the old days! I'm 35 and lived for the 90's goth clubs. They were the best. I truly thought i could live forever when i danced there. I felt like i was home. I can't believe it was so long ago now - i actually got called an "old school goth" by a 17 yr old a while back. Geez, am i really that old??? Scary stuff.....

This is my first youtube comment ever. Normally I consider it the worst of the dumbest talking for attentions sake. As a 43 yo goth still involved in the scene I respect and admire what you do. Did the 90s goth hay days. Every thing you do and say is on point. Can't criticize anything you've done even if I had reason to. Thanks for what you do not just for nostalgia but as everything you say is right. Thanks for putting yourself on the line by exposing yourself honestly and thank -you that in this cyber world of kids online in make up never being to a club, you are true & flying the bat flag regardless of the flak. Love your work. xo

Such memories. Remembering the times at a Bella Morte show, or a Switchblade Symphony performance. You are a very lovely Goth Lady, and it just brings back beautiful memories. If it's not on your list, I do recommend some good old Type O Negative. In Kansas City we had a fantastic club, for years Monday Night was Goth Night, with DJs, and quite often live shows, first one I remember there was Cruxshadows. Nostalgia and memories, and your visage brings all of those to the forefront, thank you for bringing those memories back.
