Funny, the extending "drive your elbow to x" (like into the ceiling) comments were the most enlightening, allowed the most understanding! I could feel the stretch just standing. With that knowledge, I could change the motion and target the muscle on the rest of the movement, and the rest Ben said suddenly made more sense. Anyone else find those comments the "ah ha!" moments that tied the rest together too? Great video and thank you all for all that you do! BPAK, thank you for doing these collaborations!
Ben is a genius of bodybuilding, his machines are great as well and the focus on pure isolation and minimizing other physiological distractions is great
Man, this video is almost nostalgic for me. When I first started training I soaked up HOURS of Ben’s content and based a lot of my training around that. I bought MI40 years and years ago and still use the techniques and mental cues now. Great video man!
Thanks to your explanations and conceptualizations, I felt more lat activation than i have in... Idk since i first started working out! Thank you for this amazing reframing (concept wise) of this thing we do in the gym itself!
This is an awesome and informative video. It's very rare for people to post informative videos these days. This is easily become one of my favourite RUclips channels. Keep it up!
Dorian bro, I'm really enjoying your videos. I love that you are sharing your journey and allowing us to see the process of improving body parts. It's so awesome that you're working with Ben Pakulski! I need to connect with you directly Dorian over the coming weeks and months as I set forth competing for the first time! Thanks so much man!
BPak is the top dude in the world that I've come across when it comes to exercise execution for bodybuilding purposes...imo :) Great vid, thanks for this Dorian!
2:34 Okay so I have experimented with something for a couple of months and have gotten more lat growth than I’ve ever had. I realized this - the supinated variation of the pulldown isolates my lats tremendously ALL the way through. The problem? I have several gym memberships and have been going to gyms for 20 years and still have yet to see this machine. I’ve tried variations of it though and even assessing my own mind:muscle connection I can’t get it any better than when supinated while keeping my hands as far from my body as possible during the motion. But just keeping this in mind while doing supinated pull downs (while leaning back) has been phenomenal.
Anytime you Hand is supinated on a pulldown it is likely positioning elbow infront of your body which targets lats. When we do pulldown movements think Elbows to sides Teres / Upper back Elbows in front body hits Lats.
I do have to do my best and comps to both of you guys: to Ben, to stay in the game from a so long path and career ( ..and we all know, particularly his quads could still kill sooo maany bb even 2day), still healthy and with a Family he puts for first ; to you Matt, to be the enbodyng example of how to evolve, as coach and athlete, capable to catch from the best dogs af the game, despite your huge knowledge, achievements and reached goals( your last one was sooo deserved) Keep on Matt, this world needs of example like you. My deep Respect. 👏🏼👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
This is phenomenal content. The bodybuilding specific knowledge on how to isolate and improve mind muscle connection for maximal targeted tension in this video is unreal. This kind of knowledge is going to improve results. Tangible instant improvement from watching a video, amazing stuff
A humble workout, when training with Ben, u must leave the ego at the door, use less weight for a better contraction for bigger muscles. Preventing injury.
What Ben is showing as well as guys like Doug Brignole will drastically change bodybuilding IF people get away from the old school approach. I have drastically improved my physique by using bio mechanically correct exercises instead of doing heavy compound movements.
Exactly man, I feel the same way! It completely reframes what it is to "lift weights", by giving that a much more focused perspective ("we're here to contract muscle" as ben says).
Now, that's exactly how one should execute the nautilus pullover exercise, as demonstrated by Ben! The mistake most people make is that they pull using their hands and forearms. The machine is geniusly designed to take the hands out of the equation and thereby pulling using only with the elbows in strict fashion. That is how the contraction of the lats takes place at its maximum!!
My fingers are also super short, I will try it that way then. My gym also happens to have a similar lat pullover as well where I can pull with my elbows
Worked my ass off for 16 years. Me and my bro Opened my first business when I was 19 years old Right out of high school. Pure nutrition was the name of the retail nutrition stores we grew that to 3 locations in 3 years. Now own pure muscle gym, HD muscle supplement brand, also have teamHD coaching with 5 elite coaches helping hundreds of clients reach their goals! You can do and achieve anything u want if you set your mind to it and work hard.
You better watch Dorian Yates back instead of listening to ben his back wasn't geat, Anyway the only things he had legs and calves and i think its genetics has nothing with his training. He tried but couldn't do wel so he was obliged to get bodybuilding competition dows. So from me if you want to have a weak back like im do like him if not follow Yates the master of the back, man.
This was absolute gold. Ben is a fountain of knowledge.

Ben has so much knowledge. The hip fix on the single arm row has made a major difference in my lat development

I appreciate the lat range of motion explanation at 6:00. Game changing

This back training video is super informative and highly motivational. I'll watch for your to place well at the Toronto Pro, good luck.
This video gave me so much information about my own training for back, Thank you!!!
Me to!
Fucking beautiful.. golden nuggets of knowledge came out of Ben all through. The last ROM was where it all connected on what he just did there.
Lol can you imagine Ben Pakulski teaching Branch Warren how to train and isolate his back muscles?

He is the OG
You're the best, man!! I hope to work with you one day.
Learning from an absolute master in the sport!!
Wow you learn so much
Can't believe this information is available for free. unbelievable

@@dorianhamilton1920 ah that would be great man, watching you guys kill it out there is very motivating 🔥
These videos are dope as shit. I love it when you guys go into the science behind the iron! Kinda reminds me of Jim Stoppani
I’ll keep them coming bro!
7:35 I got the exact same problem, every time I end back day my forearms are more sore than my lats
Try and really just use your hands as hooks. I really struggle with this Because hands thick and my fingers are stubs.
My fingers are also super short, I will try it that way then. My gym also happens to have a similar lat pullover as well where I can pull with my elbows
Looks like Big Mike has competition
Ben is really good at his job👌
Key point bigger arch/ark( can’t spell it lol)
Try to reach and make it a bigger arch so you feel it in the late more as trying to reach
Great stuff, thanks. Using this today
Great content!
Having Ben on been 🔥

How to get bigger lats: use steroids
Does anyone feel like Ben talks a bit of shit to younger pros Bc he couldn’t look as good as them at their age? Corrects almost every exercise.
