Hello everyone, and welcome back to our channel. It's become increasingly apparent that a significant number of individuals are experiencing considerable challenges and stress in their emotional and interpersonal lives. This often stems from encountering someone who seems overly eager to exert control over them. It strikes me as the epitome of arrogance, and quite frankly, a sheer lack of wisdom, for one person to believe it's their prerogative to dictate another's existence, proceeding to dominate and control them. This approach is fundamentally at odds with the principles of healthy living.
While it's perfectly acceptable, and indeed beneficial, for us to offer feedback and suggestions to one another, discussing what works and what doesn't in a constructive manner, this should be seen as part of establishing healthy boundaries. However, the issue arises when certain individuals believe they have the authority to impose a specific mold for others to fit into, insisting on adherence to their prescribed way of life.
Early in my journey, I coined a term to describe how these individuals communicate their desire for control: "imperative thinking" or "imperative communication." This mode of communication is characterized by directives such as "You have to," "You must," "You should," "You're supposed to," "You better," "You can't," "You've got to." These phrases are repeatedly used, potentially trapping you in a cycle of either rebutting in kind or internalizing this manner of thinking. This essentially signals one person's intent to control another.
Reflecting on the emotional turmoil this causes-be it anxiety, depression, anger, guilt, or a combination thereof-it's clear this is not a healthy or sustainable way to live. Consider for a moment the liberation that could come from deciding, "I will no longer allow this." The notion that narcissists, with their inflated sense of entitlement and self-importance, can control you might persist in their minds, but you have the power to reject their control. Imagine the profound change if you were to make that declaration, whether verbally or through your actions. While it's unlikely that such a stance would be met with praise or encouragement from a narcissist, instead possibly drawing criticism or accusations of rebellion, non-conformity, or ingratitude, it fundamentally represents a desire for autonomy. Declaring your wish for freedom, to live guided by common sense and peace, and to reject undue control, is a powerful and valid assertion. Is striving for such independence and self-guidance really so unreasonable?

If we all looked at it as in their loss , our gain. We’d be a lot better off.

Absolutely, shifting perspective to view our departure from a narcissistic relationship as our gain rather than their loss can be incredibly empowering. It helps us to focus on the positives-our freedom, growth, and the opportunity to prioritize our well-being. This mindset encourages healing and reinforces the idea that reclaiming our lives and happiness is the true victory. Thank you for sharing such an insightful perspective.

These are just my own thoughts: Silence is one of the greatest conversations. Why, don't know 🤯?.

It's intriguing how silence can indeed speak volumes and foster profound communication without words. It allows for introspection and can convey understanding, empathy, or even boundaries in ways that words sometimes cannot. Your reflection on the power of silence, especially in the context of navigating relationships with narcissists, highlights the importance of non-verbal cues and the spaces between what is explicitly said. It's a reminder that listening and observing can be just as impactful as speaking.

He sent me a message on easter Sunday wishing me peace...how empty was that what does he know about Peace......

Receiving a message wishing peace from someone who disrupted your peace can feel hollow and insincere. Trust your instincts and remember that true peace comes from within, not from empty gestures. Focus on your own path to genuine peace and healing, rather than their understanding of it. Your awareness is a sign of your strength and progress.
