Sorry for the late reply, I've checked the panel I have used which is fuse rated to 15 amps. This doesn't tell you the switch rating, but I think it is 20amps. I've left a link to both a single switch and the panel I used in my van. amzn.to/48DVAWP and the panel amzn.to/3So1t4L Hope this helps
Hi thanks David. Quick question regarding consumer unit for hook up. Instead of getting and wiring a consumer unit, I've thought about buying a pre-wired hook up which comes with an rcd and 3 plug sockets all in one with 20mtr cable. I thought about buy that and a surface mounted 16amp socket, cutting the plug off the hook up lead, feeding it through floor of the van and into the surface mounted 16amp socket which will be mounted to tow bar bracket. That way works out cheaper and pre-wired. Would that work? Thanks in advance.
This should work, my only reservation woiuld be the external plug which would need to be waterproof, the cable from the consumer unit going through the van as long as it it is braided and should be fine, but at some point will need to go outside to mount onto the towbar which is exactly the way I have done it, because I didn't want a hole in my van. As long as the cable is rated for the temperature range you plan to travel in, it should be fine. I used artic blue cable bought on amazon, but I could have simply cut off a pieces form my extension cable that hooks up onto campsites. I've left a link to the way I did it, which is very similar to how you are going about yours. ruclips.net/video/aNkQreDAZDM/видео.html @@simonwolfendale790

Could you send a picture? Or just a little more info, i.e. what color is the wire?
