I’ve owned my ‘06 LR3 for about a year now. Its a unique, capable truck, It’s been fun and has given me no real troubles, it has around 155k miles, all I’ve replaced is an EGR Valve and a brake light switch, which is a very common LR fault! Both easy DIYs as well. If you get a well maintained one, and take care of it, it’s as reliable as any other truck! ;)
I have been going back and forth about buying one for a long time. Most of these videos only talk about how they "suck" and how Toyota is the "best". I am seriously thinking about moving forward with getting one.
Reliability! It works well if maintained. Some people are lazy and do not spend the money to keep up their vehicle so complain about how unreliable the vehicle is.
I own a 2008 LR3 SE V8. I have the satnav in mine. Also, I did a SuperSprint catback exhaust, Stoptech stainless steel brake hoses, and Stoptech cross drilled and slotted rotors all around and a K&N drop-in filter. Honestly, I can't complain about gas, I get very nice gas mileage, especially when in sport mode on the highway, it has 99K miles on it, and I love it. Cheers 🍻
Thanks for this great review! Unfortunately I experienced the worst 4x4 ownership experience with a Ford Ranger 2.2 4x4 pickup of my life. The engine bew up on 1060⁰km's, followed by intercooler and turbo issues and a temperamental difflock engagement solenoid for 4 years. I traded it infor a Mahindra Pikup 4x4 double cab which I love. All 3 Landrover series and Defenders I had before were amazingly tough and reliable. I rank the Mahindra with them for owner enjoyment and capability. Want a LR3 or 4 with a sore heart...
4.4 is BMW/Jaguar on the LR3. 5.0 V8 LR4 is Ford/Jaguar?? Sheesh. Other than that I appreciate the Disco Attention, Love it, just helps to be a LR Disco Lover to understand the little things that set these apart. LR4 Air Ride Firms up on Highway driving which helps, also in Sport mode the Suspension Firms up and everything changes with the 5.0. Cars are underrated if you can do simple maintenance, fairly easy to work on.
I got the BMW engine on my 05 L322 as that was all that was available in my area at the time. I hear people complain about them on these videos but they give no explanation why. Probably because they heard someone else say it.
Since I started driving well over 50 years ago, I’ve owned more than several dozen British vehicles. I realized right away that all of these cars and trucks require basic maintenance, and an awareness when something’s not sounding, smelling, or feeling right. Many less than self aware individuals who would continue to blithely travel on in such situations then become stranded and blame the vehicle. I’ve always enjoyed a challenge, but took responsibility for my own lack of awareness, and laziness with maintaining my vehicles. If you’re NOT mechanically inclined, and don’t have one day a month to inspect, tighten and replace any minor mechanical issues before they strand you, you will not enjoy the experience. Also, being at the mercy of the dealership will drain your bank account like a bad gambling habit. To whom much is given, much is required.
07 LR3 HSE. LOVE IT.... Keep going through Alternators... Just had a brand new one installed AGAIN... and although everything seems to be working just fine after 2 days, The battery dummy light keeps coming on. Even when I'm on the highway. Thoughts?
You picked by far the best engined model , the TDV6 diesel is a ticking time bomb with at least three potential engineers killing design faults 1 tbe cam Belt tensioner breaking off tbe oil pump housing 2 spun main bearings 3 broken crank Steer clear of high mileage diesels I have tbe v 6 ford exploder engine it has been very reliable
I'm not really sure what you're trying to prove here and why did you buy want to touch a rough condition unless you do that yourself also they make stuff that you can plug into your cigarette outlet now that picks up any radio station that's connected by Bluetooth to your phone so you can connect it and use it through a radio station to listen to your music
yes the interior plastics are shit. simple. but everything else is a land rover needs maintenance and not maintained they become a money pit.. got a p38 love it but old and was never maintained. you get what you pay for. and any vehicle not only land rovers have issues if not maintained... oh and landrovers are 99.9% love them or hate them :)

@@trailrunnah8886 I actually did not. I just decided to pour money into modifying the SUV I have now.
I own this... I dont wanna drive any other thing but LR3 HSE V8... Excellent performance on road and offroad. I smile everytime I drive it
Aren’t they awesome!
What year?
@@AJ-nf9fz mine is 2007 if my memory serves me right
I own an LR3 here in Nairobi Kenya. V 6 ford cologne engine 4.0 litre and i love it to bits.
Its a 2008 and rides like a dream.
That is awesome! We still have and love ours. Thanks for watching from Kenya.
Love that you did your tests with a car seat in the back
Real world testing!
The 2005 LR3 has the same engine as the '06 ... thru '09. I much prefer my LR3 over the family Jeep.
I’ve had an 05 lr3 since 2020 and only put more into the truck than I paid for it. Buuuut I didn’t pay that much for it, so this was to be expected.
Reliability! It works well if maintained. Some people are lazy and do not spend the money to keep up their vehicle so complain about how unreliable the vehicle is.
What a fun review, love my Disco 3 V8 to bits. Puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and has been very reliable.
Glad to hear that! We still have ours and love it!

The thing I noticed with Land Rover is people will buy one with 200.000+ miles and complain about reliability, that's crazy.
Totally, then they just keep running despite their reputation.

That's not normal. Is there an oil leak with oil leaking into the alternator?
First time seeing yalls channel. Excellent review. If you had cool music youd be right up there with savageese😄
Thanks! We will have to consult with the goose or Jack to obtain those beats.
You guys crack me up😆
Cute daddies love watching. Kidding I’m planning on getting Lr4 and came across this video
Own a 2006. Land Rover's are cool.
That’s awesome, darn right they are!
Cool review I love these trucks there truly timeless the design just my own opinion and we all know everyone got a opinion

We actually don’t have that diesel in the States
We LR3 owners rock !!
The hero shirt says everything I need to know. This guy definitely has ducks and shit in his dash. Great video!!
my d2 was a harder truck than anything ford or toyota ever built, there's pedestrian suv's for soccer moms and then there's land rovers
Define harder?
Love the outfits. So cool 😎
What a good advertisement a landrover car with jeep sweaters😅😅
We have to troll all parties 😂
10:25 Ford and BMW are the reason LR has a bad reputation.
Hardon Karmon 😂
