I bought another brand of same gun you got... a NUMAX. Better exterior finish on it. Glad I saw this vid ETOE as I made the refinements you advised and cleaned the new gun prior to using it. There was grease on the paint side of the needle SO THANKS to you that I caught that beforehand! Used gun to apply Cerakote Matt Clear. Worked fine and more thanks to you for the vid on "setting up."

#SPRAYGUN Thanks for review. More than 10 years ago I buy for one special project (glider wing coat partial repair with PU white colour) quality spray gun which costs me more than 300,-Euro with aditional stuff like bigger colour can and so. As total newbie I believe that high quality and expensive tools are neccessary because I cant fight with my two left hands and bad equipment together. I know, I was young and stupid but project turns very well with help from my friends. Nearly. Lot of preparation, lot of sanding and polishing but exept some minor defects result is very nice, unfortunately I was not able to reproduce slight orange peel which was originaly on the surface and repaired part is smoother and more shiny, thus it is visible where repair was made... Today I learn, that skill and knowledge and patience is more important than expensive gear. Thanks for video and share of your knowledge Martin.

#SPRAYGUN great review . Pretty well sums up what someone upgrading from rattle cans should avoid . A beginner may never get past the failure stage if they start with non functioning equipment. They will constantly blame their lack of skill and lose hope very quickly. Thanks.

I got tiger stripes with my new for this project devilbiss startingline spraying metallic, 22psi gave best spray pattern, slightly heavier on bottom, even when I turn air cap 180 degrees. Air tip clean. Held gun what seemed parallel to surface. sides are good- just hood, roof, trunk.Have 3 coats on and looks better but still can tell. So do I scuff and spray at higher psi and increase distance spraying to fix?

Would it be a good idea, at this price , to buy 2 #spraygun avoiding deep cleaning between the steps ? (Soaking)
It would also be a source of spare parts if something goes wrong in the middle of a job.
Or would it be better to buy one at double the price considering that I would use it once or twice a year.

    Great video, as always!
Just to spray 2 or 3 times a year, spraying with cans would be better in my opinion. I prefer waiting and investigating in good tools, that working with bad ones that I won't keep because of bad quality.
I prefer cans to cheap spray gun.
Would it be possible for you to make a video about "good" spraying tools?

Yes. Buy 3 kilo of cabbage, a plastic hose and if you have problems with wet poop a cloth as a filter. Perfect low budget solution. And if you want to save some bucks use home grown cabbage like I do.
