    So you can make do with the cheap gun if you know how to set it up, but the premium gun is so much better.
    I would like to see how the middle priced guns that you link to perform, how far up that ladder of price do you have to climb until you get to something that is going to work well?

    If the main reason cheap one is worse due to only having 3 holes couldn't you just change out to a different nozzle with more holes. What about comparing a more averaged price gun $75 or so to the $300 gun because that would be a better comparison

    hi martin interesting video!
    is there anything between those 2 guns? i´m starting at 0 and i just cannot afford a gun for 300+
    maybe a video about an affordable compressor and what to do about getting rid of moisture and other stuff in the lines?
    i´m only painting up to 10 frames a year and i don´t want to turn pro.

    • @ETOE
      @ETOE  3 года назад +2

      My air filters cost more than 300$ per filter and I have 3 of them in line. My refridgeon dryer to remove the moisture costs 4000$. So what should I tell you? Cheap stuff - poor results, no matter how often you use your tools.

Would highly recommend something like the spraygun A.N.I. R160-Q which is around $100. You can get fantastic results with these check out Fatcreations they are custom painting bikes with these guns and all looking great on instagram. the gunman on youtube also gives this good reviews.

    Hey Martin! I've watched all your videos on DIY painting including all the reviews of ppl failing🤣. I think I've learned enough to spend hours upon hours sanding my frame. But I still have some questions: How do I make sure to paint the inside of the forks well. And I get an orange peel effect when spraying the color even after I sand down the primer with 1500 grit sandpaper, question is do I sand down the color as well (I'm using different colors in some places), or do I clear coat over it and sand down the clear coat?
    Lastly, on my test piece I get an orange peel effect on my clear coat with the Montana varnish cans, should I just automotive polish the final clear coat, or should I just buy the fancy 2 component system?
    Thanks for your time and seriously your videos have inspired me to paint my bikes (sorry for sounding like an ancient cat🤣)

    • @ETOE
      @ETOE  3 года назад +4

      Orange peel is normal for DIYers.
      They have no feel for the can. Female DIYers are better because most of them emptied thousands of haispray cans over the years and have more practice
      . So let your girlfriend do the job. Problem solved.

    Would imagine the $300 Gun would win, the question is can a cheap gun do a reasonable job for an occasional use hobbyist, and how cheap can you go to get a decent result.
    I want a spray gun setup but would only be used a few times a year (currently use Spray cans)
    (Edit: I wrote this when the Video was in Pre-release so hadn't watched it yet))

      Blake Antcliff, Martin explained the differences between the two spray guns and at the end he said "buy the best that you can afford!" This makes sense as the cheap spray gun will not give you a Professional finish and you probably won't be happy with the outcome, invest a little more and you'll get a better outcome. Spray Guns U.K. Com do a wide variety of spray guns to suit every pocket! (I am not sponsored by them but.......) I've used their stuff and from the 3m tapes to the iwata airbrush, it's the cheapest that I could find and fast delivery!
