Please someone help me I have a USB cable plugged into my PC to my controller I've tried different cables all it does is blink when I turn the controller on nothing happens at all I have the latest version of windows and still nothing please someone help

Yes you need an adapter for the Xbox One controller to connect wirelessly. However the Xbox One S controller has integrated bluetooth and does not require the bluetooth adapter. Probably why some tutorial don't advertise for adapters! :)

You can get it to connect wirelessly via a cheap little BTv4 dongle simply by heading into Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers Setting up a Bluetooth "Personal Area Network" Open this then press these Seek BT connection on the Xbox One controller. Once the dialog box appears Look for Game controller > Next and then leave it download / sync. Works for me via cable method OR wireless through a cheap Bluetooth adapter (I have a standard BTv4 USB Dongle (Not the Micros0ft specific one)) which I had from amazon for like £5. You may need to repeat the process a few times, and ensure you have line of sight from BTv4 adapter > XBox Wireless controller. If successful you will see "Game controllers" > "Bluetooth XINPUT compatible input device" under "System/Devices and Printers/.."

im sorry dude but i feel bad saying this... The controller connected for me using bluetooth built into my pc and using an xbox one controller, not xbox one s, not xbox one x or whatever
