I know this is tangential but seeing birds just casually landing amongst the utter chaos of the debris is a testament to their flexibility as an animal category... it's no wonder they survived the dinosaur asteroid - liquid surface but they could fly up to the mountains and to areas lucky enough to survive the molten surface / long winter
As a disaster relief contractor I have never seen such mass distraction Katrena was horrible but it didn't have the force of the raging rivers and fast moving debris

Absolutely heartbreaking to see. Went to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock a few times as a kid. Even stayed right on the lake. I really feel for those poor people stranded in this disaster right now. Sadly, looks like Lake Lure is beyond saving as well.

The rich people on the lake will be just fine. These are just there vacation homes. The locals lives are ruined. But mark my word, these rich people are already looking into how they can acquire all the damaged land to rebuild investment properties to make even more money. They don’t care about the locals. That’s how this works in a capitalist greedy country.

I pray that the surrounding areas that was hit and destroyed by Hurricane Helene that the people individually will stop and take a good look back on their lives because God is very angry with his children as a whole , and that I’m deeply saddened that lives were destroyed people have died during these horrible events that has and will change lives forever. And I pray that we all will come together and help our neighbors with food cloths and money etc. and even to help build wherever a hand is needed. Return back to Christ before it’s too late, he is coming back sooner than we can imagine … God Bless!!!!
