      I don't think this is drone footage; it looks like helicopter news footage to me, coming from a gimbal camera. It has that very characteristic feel of "camera focused on a scene while circling around it" that you don't see in drone footage.

      @@Tbrew-zd6xb What do you mean? They are humans and that should be enough to feel sorry for their tragedy. Whites as well as black Americans are lovely people. Look, I immigrated to the US (legally) from Afghanistan a year ago. I am a permanent resident and not even a US citizen. But what I have seen from the American people so far is pure love, respect and kindness. Americans, whether whites, blacks or from any other race or ethnicity, are one of the nicest people in the world. So cordial and kind. Interacting with the wonderful American people only increased my love and respect for them. Love you America and your great generous people ❤️❤️❤️.

    • @WordsofHonesty
      @WordsofHonesty Месяц назад +4

      @@Tbrew-zd6xb I know the history of European colonialism in America and other parts of the world. But those affected by the hurricane should not be associated with the wrong-doings of their ancestors. I know many white Americans who are severely critical of colonialism and slavery that happened in the past. In my opinion, when we see humans who are suffering, we should feel sympathetic towards them without any consideration for their race, color, religion, ethnicity or political affiliation.
      To your question on the Russian invasion; if you mean the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. I feel that the Afghan people fought bravely to defeat the Soviet forces and their puppet communist government. And it was the resilience of the Afghan people that led to the disintegration of the Soviet Union and as a result, so many countries in eastern Europe and central Asia got their freedom. And of course, US support to the Afghan people in their struggle and resistance to the Soviet occupation at that time cannot be overlooked.

    We were right at the crux of the damage in Alexander Co. We pumped out 9300 gallons of water from our crawlspace last night, with the help of friends who had extra sump pumps. NO INTERNET unless your directly in town near the main and only cell tower. Power was restored Friday evening around 10,in half the town, after 27 hours or so without it.
    HOWEVER,Having lived in Watauga, Jackson Co on mountain sides,and having worked in Haywood,Swain and Macon Co, I am beyond devastated. I used to live near Caney Fork, in East LaPorte,below Cullowhee and also in Balsam,NC as well as Meat Camp. I EVEN lived in Brevard for a moment too. My soul has been apart of the mountains since I was a kid, living close to Boone and coming from a ASU family. 😢
    I KNOW, those areas I used to stay are probably washed away or washed out totally. I always lived next to the Tuckaseegee River and watched it flood many times in mild rain storms.
    The moment I can drive the truck up there to help, with shovels, buckets ect, we will be there. We live 40 minutes from Blowing Rock. I am just sending so much love and hope to my Applachian communties. ❤

      You might want to share that information with the Police in Wilson, NC... that appears to be the closest town that would have a police dept. At least ask if they have any information regarding shelters, and how to locate someone who might be in one.
      I noticed on google maps that there's I-40 just north of there, with a creek in between I-40 and the access road to your parent's street. It's likely it flooded...

I do know that the Swannanoa River flooded badly and that area was hit hard. I'd call Buncombe County Sheriff and ask for a wellness check. I'm 2 hours north of Swannanoa and they're helicoptering in National Guard and FEMA. Many people have gone to shelters in the area.

    This is why strong government is needed. Among other reasons, there is a very very heavy reliance on government to come in and take care of these massive areas of destruction. This is why the rich who have millions and billions and trillions of dollars need to pay a fair share of taxes. Those tax dollars are needed throughout the United States for infrastructure for schools for hospitals, for roads, etc….
