I have come here to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of METAL GEAR! Even without any new games, its legacy will still live on in the hearts of many people.
The most perfectly awesome game theme **ever**. Rightly, exactly captured the daring, heroics, and triumph in one of the best video games of all time. HA
I would highly recommend playing them. I didn’t expect much from the first game being that it was on the ps1 but even in 2022 this game is amazing. The characters are extremely well written and the gameplay and boss fights are really fun.
I've never actually listened to this theme the whole way through, but starting at 2:14 onward, the song leaves the Metal Gear universe and goes full on Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.
I know I'm probably in the minority here, but a full-fledged 3D remake of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (bundled together in the same game) should come before a second MGS remake. It just makes more sense, seeing how the series timeline is getting closer to the events of the first Metal Gear, and it would be the perfect way to finish Big Boss' saga. I can see one more game starring Big Boss being squeezed in after The Phantom Pain, though.
Put in a game set in the mid 90's staring foxhound, before operation intrude n313, maybe featuring a prototype for TX-55 as the metal gear, and then follow it up with remakes of MG and MG2 in 3D, with the original score but upped for the better sound capabilities of today. Maybe have the remakes come bundled with the originals ported to the new system, that would be awsome
@@GothicKin It wasnt stolen, it was similar and Konami did not even bother to make a legal fight and Kojima was force to change it. Worse, nobody knows the Sviridov's song, LITERALY NOBODY, he is an unknown, a no one. Yet still Kojima was force to change his song for a mere minor coincidence

Such a shame that this theme stopped being used in the MGS games (yes, we all know the reason). It doesn't make it any less tragic. I think that the hatred towards MGSV would have been halved if this theme appeared in it (I love MGSV regardless)
+iTubeYourDadsMinge Funnily enough, this theme is actually included in the main theme for Ground Zeroes. Which means that they actually bought the rights to use the theme again... Yet it wasn't included in The Phantom Pain. What the fuck. I'm so conflicted. On the one hand, I'm overjoyed that the theme was brought back... BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, I'm kinda upset that it wasn't included in The Phantom Pain's lackluster soundtrack. There's no real point to getting the theme back if you're not going to use it. It would have been perfect to hear again. What went wrong between Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain's soundtracks? Ground Zeroes even brought back the Encounter Theme, which was rendered in it's own style. It used the original theme again. What's TPP's excuse?
+XIXI COCO it bares similarities to a piece of music named "winter road" by a Russian composer and there was a legal dispute which meant the theme couldn't be used anymore.
Yeah, but this is"Winter Road" by Georgy Sviridov, an old russian song, Kojima was shown this in an interview and since then he hasn't put this in any metal gear game since then
I didn't grow up with Metal Gear Solid (I actually got introduced to this game about a month ago), though I did feel kind of nostalgic when I listened to this.
You know, this is video game's answer to both James Bond's and Mission Impossible's main theme's. I don't know if it is plagiarized or coincidence, and I don't CARE. This theme is just one of the greatest pieces of music ever made and makes me sad that there aren't that many fan made orchestrations of it. Though the PLAY Symphony version that toured around was incredible.
Press the 'O' button repeatedly to regain your strength. When you've had enough, press the 'Select' button to submit. When your life reaches zero, the game is over. There are no continues, my friend. Don't even think about using auto-fire, or I'll know.
What I meant was actually do the whole original 97 game and redo it. Same voice actors and maybe a few more plot twists. I mean the game alone shouldn't be touched but id live to see it remade with the technology we have now. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Bryce Coates Steve Sixpence Twin snakes is older now than MGS was when twin snakes was released. It was made for the least powerful platform two console generations ago. I'd hardly say it was made with modern technology.
Bryce Coates Yeah, you're right. I'd assumed the Gamecube was the least powerful because I remember it being the cheapest by far. Even so, I think the advances in graphics and processing power from Twin Snakes to Phantom Pain make a new remake of MGS1 at least somewhat justifiable.

What's TPP's excuse?
wait, why dont they use it?
+XIXI COCO it bares similarities to a piece of music named "winter road" by a Russian composer and there was a legal dispute which meant the theme couldn't be used anymore.
Im suuuper late, but uts in the mission sortie prep in TPP
It actually plays in the game over theme if you get spotted in one of the Total stealth missions ing mgsv
Smooth McGroove needs to cover this.
And One Winged Angel, don't forget One Winged Angel.
Dear god your picture D:
Yourpasswords Right back at you :P

This is fucking epic, what an awesome piece of art
Yeah, but this is"Winter Road" by Georgy Sviridov, an old russian song, Kojima was shown this in an interview and since then he hasn't put this in any metal gear game since then

Will always and forever be my #1 videogame OST
Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater Remastery is hereeeeee 2023

No way Kojima snuck in a sound effect from a song named "Bumblebee". He was truly ahead of his time.
I don't need to forget it, every time I play it it's the same feeling, AWESOME! :D
Metal Gear doesn't even need a movie adaptation, with the cutscenes in the games, its already a movie as it is.
1:26 hits me everytime
Best game ever!
I didn't grow up with Metal Gear Solid (I actually got introduced to this game about a month ago), though I did feel kind of nostalgic when I listened to this.
what an amazing piece of music!!
0:13 AND THE WINNER IS SNAKE
Theme, intent, and pure nightmare fuel if you think about his true ababilities.
BROTHEEEERRRR.....This is my favorite song. :3
1:13 *perfection*
Everyone, even the actors didn't know how amazing and influential this game would actually be
Solid snake will always be among my top five favorite video game characters.
I’ve been looking for this for about 3 years....And now....here it is
Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake officially confirmed!! Snake kept us waiting
WE BACK IN BUISNESS BOYS!!!
1:26 i love that sound
I FOUND IT!!!! I haven't played MGS in years but have been looking for this
Press the 'O' button repeatedly to regain your strength. When you've had enough, press the 'Select' button to submit. When your life reaches zero, the game is over. There are no continues, my friend.
Don't even think about using auto-fire, or I'll know.
@_Stop motion guy_ How did you like that, shall we go again?
0:59
idk why but i really like this part
What I meant was actually do the whole original 97 game and redo it. Same voice actors and maybe a few more plot twists. I mean the game alone shouldn't be touched but id live to see it remade with the technology we have now. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Have you not heard of The Twin Snakes for Gamecube? It got new graphics and the original voice actors.
Twin Snakes. You just described Twin Snakes.
Bryce Coates
Steve Sixpence Twin snakes is older now than MGS was when twin snakes was released. It was made for the least powerful platform two console generations ago. I'd hardly say it was made with modern technology.
buraw I believe that the PS2 was weaker than the Gamecube, but PS2 had better sound, and Xbox was the best out of all of them.
I always thought it was weird that you had to beat the game 3 whole times just to hear the main theme song 😂
